That is beautiful!
What risers do you use if I may ask?

So it looks like difficulty bomb will be hit at the end of June 2021, about 7.5 months from now. At that point ETH profitability will tank and I fully expect Vitalik to drop the block reward to 1 ETH or even cancel transaction fees to miners. If that's the case I can't see any of my cards being paid off in a reasonable time. It sucks because we're heading into winter but I think I'm going to just sit on the sidelines for the next round and just pick up on any crashes. Perhaps ETC can pick up some slack, but the 4GB cards are all going to slam that coin.

I would buy three or four more 3080s. but my discount caps at 5% of 1500.

since I paid 856 a card I capped out my 5% cc discount along with my take six months to pay at a cost of only a 12 dollar fee.

still three of these should do about 285 mh which is about 7 a day.

cost was 3x856= 2568-75= 2493- 1600 for the five 1080tis so i am out of pocket 893+12= 905

I have six months to pay. should pay it about four months.

All cards will pay off soon.

You always seem to get decent pricing. I live so close to Newegg I can do will-call, but that means I have to pay 10% sales tax bumping my cost to $880 a card. My credit cards only give me a 2% option at Newegg. I could do 5% at Amazon but those cards are insta-botted so that's a futile effort.

I could get rid of my older 1070s that have dropped down to 26MH/s but it's been hard trying to sell them locally. The 1080Ti held is value better. Oddly I was able to sell 1060 3GB cards I was gaming with in June for $130 - now I can't get rid of those for $80.

I think a lot of gamers mine a bit so 3gb cards are dead to them.

I work hard to find prices. I have been trying to find 3080's for just about 2 months.

I finally found some one. He was fair about the markup so I can live with the price I paid over market.

In a magical world where evga.com was a direct contact (they are not)  Would have paid 769-5% + 7% which is 784.38 and about 26 to ship = 810.38.  I would have also had 75 off

so 3 x 810.38 = 2431.14-75= 2356.14 and six months to pay if they were easy stock vs 2493 with hard stock.    but  the extra 137 for the 3 is worth it.  I also suspect that if evga had these easy peasy I would not have sold off my 5 1080ti's for 1600.

I listed 4 hybrids for next sale.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288643.msg55595078#msg55595078

I would want a bit more maybe 350-375 each

Thanks for the kind feedback.  Risers are mostly 6pin, ver 9c? i think.  I bought a hundred or two off alibaba in 2017 for maybe 3-4usd each.  They work very well but the green leds are really annoying and useless.  I mix 6pin and molex risers depending on how many pcie cables I have for the psu.

If the green led is not lit the riser is dead?

only needed if the card has no lighting?

your cards are lit up and they are hashing. and the green leds are lit.

The greed leds are only an indicator for power to the pcie connector .  green light is not an indicator of hashing.

So they would only indicate pcie is off.

Yeah not much good as the sapphire leds would do the same.

The green LEDs reminds me years ago how I had an Antminer that I kept in my bedroom and slept next to it because the fan noise helped me sleep during the day. This was an Antminer S2 which I undervolted so it ran at like 750Ghs instead of 1TH/s so the fans didn't need to run as fast and it made a nice and soft noise which was perfect for sleeping. However the most annoying thing were the damn LEDs which blinked like CRAZY and you couldn't disable them.

I am not talking about the LAN LED but each hashing board had some LEDs which blinked whenever some work was found, share found, or whatever reason. There were 10 hashing boards so you can imagine the amount of crazy firework show I could see in the dark. Only way to disable them was to desolder them from the hashing board. I tried covering them up with electrical tape but the heat would make them come off and fans would blow them out. But yes, those LEDs are useless. I think they were mostly there for debugging purposes when the board was being testing during production.

I've always been annoyed by blinking LEDs at night. I have a router in my closet and I leave the door open a crack for ventilation and the blinking lights up my whole room. It's like the inside of a Borg Cube once your eyes get used to the darkness.

BTW it's never a good idea to sleep next to new hardware because the volatile organic compounds given off by the PCB and components are very carcinogenic. I like to let the system "bleed" out the toxins at another location or outside for a good month or two.

Phil, I remember you being owed by Nicehash, you might find this interesting:

In new blog post, they stated that they plan on reimbursing everyone before end of year.

Yes, users will get reimbursed in full - all 100%! Save the date, we will reimburse all the remaining funds on Wednesday, December 16, 2020!

and here:

I for life of me couldn't find where we talked about it like a year ago or so, so I am posting it here. Feel free to delete it or move it if this is not appropriate thread.

managed to get a couple of 3070 today.
So far it is running at 66MH @ 135W. My settings are 740mV, core -300, mem +1800 (8600mhz).
Not bad, but i think i will skip the 3000 series altogether.

Yes I got the Nicehash email also. You login and need to sign some form saying you clear them of any wrong-doing and you will get 100% of your amount back. However you need to wait until like Dec 16th 2020 or so. What's funny about all this is that I am pretty sure the day they got hacked Dec 7th, bitcoin was trading at ~$13000 and now its at a higher price than 3 years prior.

I remember getting their reimbursements when BTC was like $6K and thinking, they should just reimburse the USD amount of the hack since BTC value is halved pretty much however it looks like we will be in the green when we finally get out money back. I remember those were a good old days of mining. Something like $5/gpu/day with an RX 470 GPU. Probably not as good as Jan 2018 with some coins like ETH which probably made like $10/gpu/day on some 1080Ti GPUs but the profits sure were amazing back then.

to equal my btc mining price today needs to be 78k Grin

to equal my nicehash eth to btc mining price of eth today needs to 3220

I'm on Newegg, BestBuy, Walmart, Amazon and pricechecker sites.

I tried from Sept 17 to Nov 14 I finally got 3 3080's

and I won't say how or where I got them.  Other then they were a legal purchase.

I simply spent to much time to get them.

Well my local Microcenter has basically no stock of RX 5700XTs other than Sapphire brand. I know they're good cards but I like the longer 3 year warranty on the ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI cards and with AmEx that pushes them out to 4 years without having to return the card to Microcenter (place of purchase). Since they have very little stock I'm hoping they get a decent amount of cards that I can get 1 to test out.

I would love to get the 6000 series amd but I don't have much hope to buy 1.
