Be aware...since these cancelled stamps and first day covers are commanding such high prices...its a matter if time they will be forged. Its an age odl dillema in philately and classic example was
Sperati.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_de_Sperati I have used in the past the American Philatelic Society and the Philatelic Foundation to have rare stamps certified. And trust me...fakes were found that looked as real as the genuine stamp or genuine cancel....or reperforated...or repaired.
Always reach out to them first prior to sending anything.

Right, we all know the ETH adress of the austrian post so all public adress are known : it seems possible.
But you would also have to match with the real private keys which is impossible as they are hidden.
We could imagine a counterfeiter buying a red one, then getting access to the private key then minting a bunch of copies.
Looks definitly a joke
Ok since you changed whatever you said before...lets play this scenario...which is very doable.
I find a red stamp that has been online somewhere....here for example on this forum being sodl in an auction.

https://crypto.post.at/CS1/J1TDs I replicate the red stamp and use the same identifying code numbers to ID it as a red stamp online thru their Austrians Postoffice website.
I could not care less what is under the stamp scratch off.
NOBODY will be redeeming the pittance of Ethereum underneath. That would destroy the value of the Stamp.
So not only is it doable, but very easily replicated without having to worry about your blockchain remarks.
And as a collector of these stamps, I can tell ya...will never redeem...and I guarantee any collector will not either.
I have seen a red stamp go for over $2200

Its not a matter of if, but a matter of time and when.
