Wonderful! Miss the BTC logo though, but otherwise it is really cool!
BTC would be really really cool!!! But I guess they would have to use some sort of lightning network and the loaded amount would be more likely
10 Satoshi :-D

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Any amount of Satoshi is good as long as its loaded and Bitcoin IMO. Instead of password encrypted they can use the scratchoff for the private key. All on the one stamp. So far the Gibraltar and Austria stamps...the redemption qr codes have not been on the stamp itself...but on the selvage or a breakaway part of the stamp. By placing BOTH the public and private keys on the stamp itself that would make it a first in the annals of philately.

I put in an order for First Day Stamped stamps...they arrived today. They're stamped with a date on the credit card plastic, there's NO paper affixed to it. Did anyone else get any of these?

Might be rarer. I talked quite a bit to some of the officials and the current consensus is that they cannot give exact numbers. I explained to them that it would benefit them and all serious collectors if they were to release some official numbers and that it should at least be possible to get some good estimates by just counting all their online orders. So let's see. FDCs and and first day stamped "normal" are probably both pretty rare. Today I got the info that there are different types of FDCs out there. Could you catch some rare yellow and red, Fattcatt?

Be aware...since these cancelled stamps and first day covers are commanding such high prices...its a matter if time they will be forged. Its an age odl dillema in philately and classic example was Sperati. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_de_Sperati I have used in the past the American Philatelic Society and the Philatelic Foundation to have rare stamps certified. And trust me...fakes were found that looked as real as the genuine stamp or genuine cancel....or reperforated...or repaired. Always reach out to them first prior to sending anything. http://www.philatelicfoundation.org/ https://stamps.org/ Also hodl on to your receipts. That might help with provenance...but not 100% either

But you would also have to match with the real private keys which is impossible as they are hidden. We could imagine a counterfeiter buying a red one, then getting access to the private key then minting a bunch of copies. Looks definitly a joke

That might help with provenance...but not 100% either Can't fake them. It's on ETH blockchain, how do you fake a blockchain? You can not fake a blockchain so these stamps will never be counterfeit. Not the stamps....the cancellations on the stamps! I was referring to cancelled stamps and first day covers! What do they have in common? They are cancelled or stamped And guess what...yes they can be forged or faked.

We could imagine a counterfeiter buying a red one, then getting access to the private key then minting a bunch of copies. Looks definitly a joke Ok since you changed whatever you said before...lets play this scenario...which is very doable. I find a red stamp that has been online somewhere....here for example on this forum being sodl in an auction. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5165588.0 J1TDs https://crypto.post.at/CS1/J1TDs I replicate the red stamp and use the same identifying code numbers to ID it as a red stamp online thru their Austrians Postoffice website. I could not care less what is under the stamp scratch off. NOBODY will be redeeming the pittance of Ethereum underneath. That would destroy the value of the Stamp. So not only is it doable, but very easily replicated without having to worry about your blockchain remarks. And as a collector of these stamps, I can tell ya...will never redeem...and I guarantee any collector will not either. I have seen a red stamp go for over $2200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crypto-Stamp-ROT-RED-Limited-Edition-Postfrisch-Briefmarke-Ethereum/143324560751?hash=item215ecf3d6f:g:EpYAAOSwYd1dJLaM That my friend will attract sharks from miles around looking for a bite into something that juicy. Its not a matter of if, but a matter of time and when.
