Everyone is going crazy for FDC and first day cancelled stamps. In Philately we call them CTO Cancelled To Order. They were never really genuinly used thru the postage system...in other words..never used for what they were intended...mailed to someone. I as a pure Philatelist..prefer used genuinly. I would recommend people who are serious to do the same. I just nabbed one below and as you can see...its the real deal.

Interesting, but makes sense. Do you collect/keep the whole envelope, or just the stamp? (Just curious). Thanks!

The entire envelope in this case. It is more legit and more appealing on envelope. Also the entire cancel is not only stamped on the stamp but stamped to the left of the stamp as well clearly indicating city and date. Rare postage stamps left on envelope usually command higher prices.

To anyone sending or storing stamps....
Keep away from humidity and high temps Place in a dry place...use silica gel packs to help Do not use any sort of tape near stamps! Place in zip lock bag when shipping to prevent any water damage. If you live in the country...place some sort of bug protection to prevent insects from eating your stamps. Do not pile your stamps on top of each other...the gum can melt and will stick to each other. Keep away from any light to prevent fading. NEVER USE SCOTCH TAPE TO AFFIX YOUR STAMPS
you are really a full blood stamp collector krogo :-D

Agree with Krogoth, customs and international shipping times vary drastically. Also note: For my FDC order I had a dispatch email, but when I checked tracking, it took them another 7 days to actually send the parcel.

My ultimate used stamp postage set would be something like this. All colors neatly placed and the cancels placed the way they are. I would explain to the teller my intentions before hand and if they agree then place a whole set to be cancelled this way. It would be very unique. Now if only I can find time to fly to Austria!

Thanks! They were a lot of fun to scan. The anticipation was great . Wish I had bought more! Feel like I got lucky finding them back online (for the third time I think?) before they sold out finally, though, so happy to have gotten my order in.

Full set and red stamp feel so good. Even yellows and blue give a nice tickle when scanning! And couldn't agree more, scanning and anticipating is a fantastic experience.

Thanks man...I posted it in the front as well. I have followed an auction on Thiefbay for a Black 4 diigit one and it went up to over $400. I can imagine what a red would bring

So how many of you guys went back to your stash of stamps to check the 4 digit and 5 digit serials? I bet lot of you already have and some can't wait to get home and check them out.. And than there are people like me who already sold the big bunch and regretting a bit of how many were 3 digits in there... lol..
