Am I getting my sums wrong or are the rental prices for Scrypt at Nicehash.com rather high currently?

I was looking at XCASH and thinking maybe I'd augment my hashrate on IPOminer, calculated that with a network hash of around 25GH/sec then 1MH/sec should return me about 15XCASH per day. Looks like it will hit the exchanges at around 1k satoshis, so buying 1GH of Scrypt mining for 1 day would in theory earn me 0.15BTC worth, but Scrypt on Nicehash will cost me at least 0.5BTC/GH/day. Leaserigs is at least 0.6BTC/GH/day.

It looks like your estimate of 1k satoshis was a little low Grin I personally mined at a rental cost of around 2500 satoshis, and was able to sell a nice portion for a 300% gain at 7500 satoshis now.

Yeah, I took the 1k figure from the opening bids on Cryptsy, now I see its at 12500 on Bittrex. Should have stuck to my old method of estimating coin value Smiley

We'll be cleaning up a fairly large number of coins in 14 days. Those of you with balances for these coins will have already received an email, but I wanted to post a reminder here since there are quite a few coins being removed:

ARCoin (AR)
BottleCaps (CAP)
LegendaryCoin (LGD)
MantisCoin (MTS)
MultiWalletCoin (MWC)
ParallelCoin (DUO)
RobotSexNickels (RSN)
TheoremCoin (THEO)
USBCoin (USB)
VastCoin (VAST)
XCashCoin (XCASH)
ZipCoin (ZIP)

Note that some of you may have gotten two emails about USBCoin, please ignore the extra one.

Also, note that Triangles would be removed due to lack of a functional wallet/blockchain and no development, but there actually appears to be some new development work taking place in the past few days to improve the situation so we'll hold off on removing it right away now.

XCASH is no longer able to be mined as it was a very short term PoW coin. And, it is available on popular exchanges and has wallets available, so there's no reason to keep coins on a pool in that case.

RSN was delisted from c-cex, and there's been <10Mh mining it on the pool. There's virtually no activity on their bitcointalk thread.. 3-4 posts in the past 2-3 weeks.

I only have various small amounts left, I presume anything left in the account is put towards the site running costs if not withdrawn before the final request so thats ok with me

DOGE is merged-minable with any scrypt coin. Would be nice if we mine it with every coin on scrypt ports.. :-)

Most coins we mine will have lower difficulty than DOGE, so there isn't a huge gain from that, but every little bit helps of course. I'm looking at implementing it...

Yeah, I know, its exactly as you said. Btw, anyone have closer description how this meged mining work? Since the inputs for hash calculation are also previous block, transactions etc.. I dont get it :-)

Good plan IPOminer. If we are going to be mining a lot of scrypt coins, might as well get the free doge.

The mining hashrate that you see on the frontend comes from a calculation based on how many shares you're submitting per minute. Our servers are optimized towards 50Mh+ hashrates per coin, and there are several levels of caching. If there isn't much hashrate on a coin, you'll see sporadic hashrate reporting because shares are cached until they hit a minimum threshold.
