Sure x11 multiport USB coin is worth mining with 2300 Mhash? 11 hours 05 minutes without any block?  I redirected my x11 traffic manually to "IPOminer: Jul 27 4:00 AM We added a new X11 coin today, I/O Coin (IOC) on direct port 3618."
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=707450.0 => "USB Coin is pure POS now, mining is no longer possible." and some latter posts say Bittrex disabled USBcoin market. Checked Bittrex, seems working, just Last/Bid data wrong (0.00000031 instead of 0.00000081), cant test it - all my USB sold earlier with near max price Smiley

Best,
Jayfek, overheating, +32C and rising...

IOC says disabled on the home page where it lists the direct port but I see a lot of hashrate on it.  Are people mining this successfully since the multi isn't moving off of USB?

Yes, the PoW period on USB ended - the multiport has been switched off of it. IOC was re-enabled after the issues with it forking were fixed by their developers last night.

Looks like Elite and USB were both scams and possibly concealcoin as well.  What does this do to the potential of this place?  I agree that many new coins are most profitable at their launch but I don't really want to be involved in mining coins that are full on scams designed to profit the devs at the expense of everyone else.  Thoughts?

The only thing that makes it possible to earn higher rewards in altcoins than in other industries is the higher risk involved. If there were zero scams, there would be very minimal profit potential. If you're familiar with pink sheets, I view altcoins very similarly - except they have even higher risk/reward potential. You can make literally thousands of percent in profit, or you can also lose 99.9999%, on any given coin in very short amounts of time.

The only real solution on an individual level is to diversify. I've described this as my own personal strategy many times here, but I'll repeat it for those who may have missed it previously: Don't put all your hope/money/hashrate into one coin. Sell some of your position in a coin whenever you can realize some profit to cover your expenses. Try to discipline yourself to stagger any buys and sells - perhaps ~10-30% at a time. You won't get the absolute maximum return on any given coin, but you should be able to increase your average profit and reduce losses by following that strategy.

Bittrex has been very slow in adding new coins lately, so no, I wouldn't count on it. It is on C-CEX though already if you want to trade it there.

I have been part of the Quatloo (QTL) team and would like to thank IPO Miner for being the best pool out there and taking chances on new smaller coins.  I have a few bags of coins that went to zero, but I have also had a few winners picked by IPO that have made it more profitable than just mining at a set and forget multipool.  QTL started about a month ago as a small scrypt PoW only coin, where only IPO was mining it, and today it sits at #75 in market cap and is about to release a major feature, a Bittrex trading tool, where the only price is holding 100 or more QTL in your account. If any of you are traders, you will want to join #quatloocoin and buy 100-500 QTL from bittrex.  11pm Eastern is the release of the QTL trading tool, you need QTL to use the free tool. I will be raining a block of QTL (17 coins) every 15 minutes from 11pm to Midnight for the occasion. If you haven't been mining or watching QTL rise up the ranks in market cap and Bittrex volume, take note!

I see you have one worker running currently on X13, saykor.miner1 which has been showing 7-8Mh over the past 15 minutes that I've checked it.

I'll reset all the X13 stratums in a moment just in case there's something buggy with one of them.

UPDATE: After resetting all the X13 stratums, I now see you with two workers at ~11Mh each.

Is something up with IOC?  Seems we are on an unexpectedly long block.

EDIT: pool hashrate on IOC seems to be dropping steadily as well. At least according to the website.

Not sure what you mean? You didn't lose any of your existing unconfirmed/confirmed coins. You may not have gained as many new coins as expected if you were not seeing your hashrate reported as expected though.

Is something up with IOC?  Seems we are on an unexpectedly long block.

EDIT: pool hashrate on IOC seems to be dropping steadily as well. At least according to the website.

A lot of people have had rentals on it, just seem to be expiring at the same time as it hit Bittrex and difficulty has been going up so our block finding is down as a result.

Did the difficulty go through the roof or something?  It just doesn't seem right that I was making more than 50 of these a day up until 5.5 hours ago and now if we ever crack another block I will only get 2.3 coins.

Difficulty has gone up by between 30-300%, depending on the block, but that is definitely a long stretch. I just did a short rental of 10Gh of NiceHash for about 30 minutes, and we've now gotten 3 blocks in that time.

I just recompiled the wallet with a higher max outbound connections, which may help. There's been one pool that has had the majority of the nethashrate on average and I suspect we may not be seeing their blocks fast enough from wallet peers. Blocks are going by very quickly with the PoW+PoS stage the coin is in currently.

Really, ONYX?  With all the scams you've directed your multiports at in the last week and a half (CNL, VAST, ELITE, USB) do you really think it's smart to associate your name with a coin that is such an obvious premine and dump scam?
