We're now live with mining PawnCoin. I'll be here for the BlitzCoin launch and if it goes well + difficulty isn't outlandish, we'll mine it.

the question is if the coins are new how are you meant to exchange them, will the new coins be on any exchange or you have to hold them on the luck that it will end up in an excahnge and then hope it is even worth trading at that time?

Appreciate OP's comments on cryptorush, but they are just too unstable. Am in the process of trying to get my funds out of there. Painful.

Cryptorush is currently having issues with accounting balances because of their handling of staked coins for BlackCoin, and they are being DDOS'd on top of that.
It would be wise to take a cautious approach and withdraw funds from Cryptorush until they can sort out their issues. That's what I did personally -- I was getting errors on bitcoin withdrawals on Cryptorush, so I bought AUR and then was able to transfer that to Cryptsy and sell it there.
@gtraah We typically mine coins that are on exchanges, although they are typically newer ones - not the big names like Cryptsy, Bter, etc. Occasionally we will mine a coin at launch, or one that is not listed yet on an exchange, but that isn't especially common.

For those of you that were looking forward to the BlitzCoin launch, it has been delayed again.
We are now mining GermanyCoin -- I also have SpartanCoin and GreeceCoin loaded up and ready as possibilities for today, along with a few others.

Is Germany coin on any exchange apart from Cryptorush (as they are obviously having issues at the moment).

Yeah, StandardCoin is on my radar and I'll be on top of it at launch if it goes well. The premine situation on a lot of these new coins is off-putting, but a lot of them have still done well in the short term.
@Monkey1 GermanyCoin is on Bittrex.

Here's a question for everyone -- what do you think is a reasonable timeframe to require people to withdraw funds after we decide to cease mining a coin and announce its pending removal from ipoMiner? Flound and I consider two weeks to be a reasonable time, and initial discussions with our miners on IRC seemed to agree with that, but we are open to hearing other input before making a final decision.
For background, there are a few reasons behind this: 1) We want to actively discourage people from storing coins on ipoMiner, to the extent possible. It is much better for everyone if you maintain control of your coins, and it helps make us less of a high profile target. 2) Running a constantly growing number of coin daemons in perpetuity requires significant effort to keep them up to date, along with memory and disk space.

2 weeks sounds good.
Although, if you are going to implement an auto sell option, you could give the 2 weeks notice, then autosell all remaining coins and credit the balance to relevant accounts.

We're now mining StandardCoin, at launch -- enjoy!
@Monkey1 We probably won't be implementing auto-selling in the same sense as Multipool.us due to the nature of new coins. Any coins left after the announcement for removal + 2 week period would be treated as a donation to the site.

But you still can implement auto selling for the coins that is possible.

I feel like 2 weeks is more than enough time after announcing that a coin is being removed considering users have to log in to your site regularly to check for any new coins they may have mined. If you want to be super nice for the inattentive miners you could set up a system that either emails a user or displays a popup when they log in that they have X coin stored in the pool and it will be removed on whatever date.

My only concern is that because I don't want to download more and more wallets, and I don't trust most of the exchanges either, I probably will be selling earlier rather than later. Hmmmm. I understand you guys have overhead with all of the daemons though.
