I'm mining this coin but now it's getting a bit cold and I miss the noise  Cry
lol, yeah I was getting used to my cars starting starting with an oil temp of 38c Sad

You have the rigs next to your car in the garage ?
Yep. It'd not nearly as annoying as in the house. 150 R9 290s was screwing with the house air flow lol

Thats true. My wife would kill me if I'd had them running in the house.. She's mad I've got them running in the cellar already Smiley

Just have to air dust them every 2 days and it's perfect.

150 video cards? thats insane how do they even fit in your garage?

I am gonna bump my earlier suggestion because I am still convinced, especially after hearing people joke about the "HIC" in the trollboxes. It is not too late to change the symbol to HIRO. Exchanges are okay with doing this. Metiscoin changed from MTC to MTS without a problem. I am telling you when Hawaiicoin comes out as HIC you are gonna have more problems than just a terrible sounding trading symbol.

While I agree HIRO looks and sounds much nicer then HIC, isn't it Hawaicoin that's going to have a problem since HIC already exists and is trading on multiple exchanges ?

I guess I am not considering Hawaiicoin to be a serious enough launch for them to really care about the conflict, but yes I suppose it is ultimately more their problem. I think my main argument is the marketability of the coin. Plus it is an easier transition than Metiscoin from MTC to MTS because no one is going to look at the list of coins and say, what happened to Hirocoin? HIRO would be evident. Thanks for the response.

I agree with you. Maybe Hiro will reconsider.

Right now the most important thing for Hirocoin is to gain exposure. If you are mining, have invested in Hirocoin or simply like it ; please follow us on social media ( we're doing a big giveaway on twitter soon ) and come visit our forum at Hirocoin.org.

new to hiro coin and loving the reduced power consumption and temps! running a version of sph-sgminer but it doesn't display temp or fan readings. i'm using cgwatch and can see the temps are much lower but its painful having to toggle between gpu cards. is there something i need to do to get this displaying? i've got 280x and 290 rigs mining hiro atm and both are having the same problem. the 280x has the dvd-i cross over plug and the 290 are connected to a monitor. any ideas would be great.

We can do this in the next release however financial markets use three letters as far as I know. I did check Cryptsy to make sure there was no conflict but did not check more than that. Perhaps we compete with Hawaiicoin for use of HIC?

Hirocoin - New unique feature just added. We will be the new home for GPU miners when those Scrypt ASICs hit.

I like the fact that my GPU''s run cooler alot. Just wondering, does this coin really bring something new when comparing it to darkcoin?

I do think that we will be the more popular choice for miners over Darkcoin as they use inverse difficulty reward, so the higher the difficulty the lower the coin reward. We could also be a more popular choice for merchants as we have automatic checkpointing to safeguard against 51% attacks aiming to reverse transaction. One of our keys goals is to be very secure.

Check the first post for the complete list of work done and if you are a coder go look at the commit history on GitHub to see that we have meticulously coded Hirocoin setting it above the majority of coins that get launched. Hirocoin is a long term project but with 100MH ASICs expected in Q2/Q3 we may see our popularity rising much soon er than that Smiley

Thanks for the quick answer, cleared some things up.

Another question, is there a post/topic somewhere with optimized settings for 280x cards?

tried and it does show the stats but hash rates are slightly lower than the current sgminer i'm using - http://dark.suchpool.pw/sph-sgminer-win.zip
i lose around around 90mhs per card on my 280x's so 2.050mhs instead of 2.130mhs but wu seem to settle around a similar figure of 0.080/m which is bit strange considering 240mhs is not contributing much submitted shared. i might try running with it for now.

thanks for the quick response!

intensity for 280x should be set to 13
try deleting the shaders parameter to see if that fixes the HW issues

After deleting shaders, i still have got some hw errors.
Also I changed the intensity from 13 to 12 to 11, but every time i have harware errors.

Mining ultracoin with the following settings, without hw errors:
Code:
ultracoinminer -o stratum+tcp://ultra.nitro.org:3337 -u x.1 -p x --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 --thread-concurrency 16384 -g 2 -I 12 --lookup-gap 3 -w 256 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --gpu-powertune 20 --expiry 1 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale

And doge also with no hardware errors:
Code:
sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:3352 -u x.1 -p x -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 -w 256 --shaders 2048 --gpu-engine 1170 --gpu-memclock 1825 --temp-cutoff 87 --temp-target 77 --auto-fan

No luck this coin Smiley with these settings:
Code:
sgminer.exe -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.suchpool.pw:3339 -u x.1 -p x -I 11 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2

Try changing your -w to 400 and I 13 should work just fine

Try

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

sgminer.exe -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.suchpool.pw:3339 -u x.1 -p x -I 11 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192

I found that most rigs need the setx parameters with X11 despite lower thread concurrency (for scrypt you only need it with high thread concurrency)

This wil give me still hardware errors with a speed of about 1Mh/s per gpu card.

The other setting:
Code:
sgminer.exe -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.suchpool.pw:3339 -u HrqxJyeguRvFcGU.1 -p x -I 13 -g 2 -w 400 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192

also give hardware errors but much much more speed. about 2.2 Mh/s per gpu.

Don't know what i have to change  Sad also don't know what speed is acceptable at the moment.
