http://poolz.eu:9408 - I am running a P2Pool node in Europe :

ULTRA FAST INTERNET CONNECTION
Unix Server equipped with SSD, tuned for low latency
1% fe
e

How to connect:
Server = http://poolz.eu:9408
Username = your HIRO wallet address
Password = choose a whatever random password

Highlights:
No registration, start mining directly
Lightweight pool frontend, responsive design also perfect for browsing with tablet or smartphone
Node heartbeat live displayed on frontend, updating every 10 seconds also on smartphone and tablet PC
Fast and direct payments (PPLNS) into your wallet instead of a central wallet managed by someone you don't know
Decentralized network, harder to attack
Transactionfee's in a block will also by payed to all miners in the pool
Switch between different p2pool nodes without penalty. Payments will continue, they are all connected --> just setup another P2Pool node or two as backup

Hints to succes:
You will receive small payments very soon, these payments will get higher as longer you run on P2Pool. You should mine at least 24 hours to get an idea.
You should consider mining this pool if you have a minimum hashrate of 1 Mh/s. Lower hashrates are not recommended because it's not efficient. If you have a lower hashrate you should think about using a normal pool.

You will have more stales/rejects, around 5 ~ 10% is normal with P2Pool technology. You may have to play with the intensity. With P2Pools you should normally lower your intensity one or two steps down. Just look at the accept/reject rate.

The problem with buying on the market is that if you put a 1 Bitcoin order on the price just goes up and it does not fill! I will try with lots of small orders. I have already invested in Hirocoin but do not want to use that for bounties as my concern is that the price will shoot up before I can replace those funds.

I'm assuming you came to a final conclusion with NGW - Obviously there definitely IS an issue with time warp as much as everyone wanted to say there wasn't given AUR has been under the exact attack. In pseudocode terms, how does the fix work? I've looked at KGW compared to the original patch, but have there been any updates to the patch since then? I'm intrigued to learn more...

Nite69's work helps mitigate the TW issue greatly. You cannot completely stop this sort of thing but you can reduce the issue. Like the time warp limitation already in Hirocoin, the default is 2 hours and we reduced it to 15 minutes. You can still try to warp the time but only by 15 minutes, chances are no one would notice Smiley

Hirocoin - New unique feature just added. We will be the new home for GPU miners when those Scrypt ASICs hit.

Good stuff, thanks for the information! What are the ramifications of changing the time warp limitation to 15 minutes? I assume 2 hours wasn't an arbitrarily chosen value.

Two hours is the time used for Bitcoin. Considering they have two weeks between retarget this is pretty safe. New coins generally have quicker blocks and retargets. If you have a retarget every hour for example then someone being able to change the blocktime by two hours will have a big impact on the retarget. Most new coins forget or do not know to change these settings.

Did you fill your buying order? I notice more than 1BTC trading at around 1800 satoshi.

Is it possible to integrate something like BOINC into Hirocoin like it's there in Gridcoin. But in a much much easier way, it should blow the market. Just think about that )

Same thing that happened to Litecoin (scrypt) 12 months ago, when ASICs started taking over the Bitcoin network is now happening to Hirocoin (X11).

And we all know what happened to the value of LTC when more people pointed their GPU's at it, securing the blockchain with a still growing hashrate.

I predicted the price rise of LTC 12 months ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=160300.0
It's history repeating.

Why I predict this for Hirocoin and not for Darkcoin? The name. Darkcoin isn't a coin that will be accepted by many retailers, they don't want to be associated with a "dark and illegal" sounding currency.

Darkcoin is the ideal coin to buy illegal stuff, untraceable. Hirocoin will join Bitcoin and Litecoin on the road to main acceptation.

And X11 ASICs? They can be created but what factory would take the risk to do so at this moment?

Very impressive call. I just read through that thread, congratulations to you and the others on there for your success with litecoin, i could only hope to end up in a similiar position as you. Funny seeing people on there with 20K+ litecoin wishing it would go to one dollar lol...just one year and 5 days ago theywere saying this, talking about how the market price was less than ten cents a piece...insane. Would you care to share some insight with us on the development of the move to X11, if there has been any at all? Do you expect a repeat of what happened with scrypt?

You can calculate the damage at the private calculator: https://cointweak.com/calculator/coin/hiro

Did this coin die?
No but the price is getting lower and lower each day with most people selling as quick as they mine it, it seems.  Which baffles me because it was super unprofitable to mine and sell the past couple of days and people were still selling steadily to people with sell orders.

It's probably because of the rise of many other x11 coins which grabs away the attention of hiro. Most of the time algo clones wont be as successful as the original like vertcoin vs execoin etc

No Hirocoin is not dying. What you're seeing on the chart is not enough demand to keep up with the coins that are being mined on a daily basis. Lower demand ( at the moment ) means lower prices.

Yes, highly likely. The altcoin scene has a very short attention span. People will rush into the next coin, because NEW is usually more exciting.

Many are simply copy/paste coins that won't live for more then a few weeks at most.
We're adding new features and growing our user base. We're in it for the long haul. That's why we will get bigger while other coins are forgotten.

Hypercube - get the attention you deserve

I PM'ed HiroS, but got no response, probably hi missed it or my proposal almost insane. Here my ideas:

Would be awesome to add reversible transactions by using protection code. If I send coins I can protect it by password and set expiration, recipient must enter this protection code in order to receive payment, otherwise, after specified time transaction will be discarded. Very cool for escrow, cuz I just can send password to trusted person, person can validate it and if everything is ok, send it to recipient. Such transaction fee could be significantly higher - miner's win.
By default this feature should be disabled and such transactions won't appear in a wallet at all. Safe for existing exchanges.

What you, guys, think?

I remember such feature was in http://www.wmtransfer.com/ wallet long time ago. It's not crypto, but I liked it.
