Both teams lost 15 wickets on the first day. Due to the loss of so many wickets, everyone is questioning the condition of the pitch. But I will say that we always know that Mirpur's pitch always helps the spinners. This is not a new phenomenon. And it will be their failure if they don't add experienced spinners to New Zealand's squad. But personally I like bowling friendly pitches in test matches. This makes the matches very competitive and exciting. It is very difficult to predict which team will win.

In February 2018, the Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium pitch received a demerit for being "below average". As much as it may seem to many that the pitch will be questionable with 15 wickets on the first day, it is not, as the ICC has so far not given any new demerit points. If it receives five demerit points, it will be different and Mirpur will be banned from the pitch for the next twelve months. The second day's match did not take place but the third day is also in doubt due to hostile weather conditions. Hopefully next day match will be made on time and Bangladesh will return to their action.

It's high time that SENA countries also start focusing on turners in their backyard as well, that's the only way they could produce quality spinners who are disciplined enough on helpful decks and it will prepare their batters against spin, no drastic improvement in short term but they'll improve for sure. At least they won't look like a headless chicken when a ball is turning. 

SENA countries are trying their best for having turning things into their backyard, but sadly they are not able to have better results like New Zealand and South Africa are having few spinners those are having connections in subcontinent, but their quality is not like we have in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh which is surely still problem for them but as things are going hopefully we will have better results in near future because they are not going to give up with this all.

After first day game, if we lost another day then I have feeling result is possible because Bangladesh spinners are doing good job and after rain they take good advantage as well which will help them for more turn and problems for the New Zealand batsmen but now second Bangladesh inning is important because if they want to win this match and series by 2–0 then surely they have to give good target with quick runs and last day could be also interesting, but first we need to have how things will be gone on third day after this we can predict about result but if we have no more play or draw then still it's good for the home team.

Bangladesh scored 172/10 in 2nd test match in first day where i haven't found any mentionable batsman who is worth mentionable for good score while Mushfiqur Rahim's unusual (obstructing the field)  result disappointed most of bd supporters and Mitchell Santner & Glenn Phillips fot 3 wickets each but i wonder how Bangladesh took wickets and stop new Zealand within 55/5 where Mehidy Hasan Miraz got 3 wickets. I think Bangladesh could stopped rest of batsmans within low score but today match abandoned due to rain. Even there is possiblity to rain tomorrow all the day. It seems rain want to keep interfering for change the final result.

When in the first test against New Zealand, I thought there were two experienced batsmen, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. The team may not be able to do very well due to the absence of these two experienced players, but under the leadership of Nazmul Hasan Shanta, they beat New Zealand by a huge margin in the first test with a fairly good batting and bowling performance. Coming to the second test, Bangladesh again suffered from batting failure and Bangladesh was all out for 172 runs. But the Bangladesh team bowled brilliantly, they lost five wickets for New Zealand's 55 runs. If there is no rain today, if the field is fit for play, then we can enjoy the second and third day of the New Zealand vs Bangladesh Test series. Let's see how good the weather is on the playing field

Probably by today the outcome will be clear. If New Zealand can get to somewhere around 200 (that looks outright impossible as of now), then they have a chance to remain alive in this match. Rain is not a concern as of now, as the weather forecast is quite clear for the next 3 days. Don't forget the fact that Bangladesh is already leading the series by 1-0. They don't need to take any unwanted risk. I am sure that 1-0 result for the series would be much more palatable for them compared to 1-1. Therefore I would like them to play safe, when they come to bat.
