I had the time to watch the NLEX Vs. SMB yesterday, and SMB won by I think 9 points. Am I the only one that feel bored whenever I watch elimination games? I mean there are no crowd at all, and it's like you're watching 2 teams that are playing on a court where they rented privately, then they just hired commentators, referees, etc. I guess the only time games will be enjoyable will be during the playoffs, eh? Or it's only me that has that kind of feeling. Still, I will watch SMB games from here after.

Just should learn to appreciate the PBA as it's our country's premier basketball league after all. While I don't watch every game, I've grown to love the league through sports betting. i can still remember the time we watch the game @ Araneta Coliseum.  Im pretty sure it was not play-offs and just an ordinary game.
I was 8 years old i think, Edsa was wide and no traffic at all even it was a rush hour.
My dad is a solid NSD fan, he took me there with my younger brother to watch  the GIN vs POP Cola/sunkist.
Luckily we were Early, I watched the SMB vs Pepsi (if i am not mistaken). Thats the day i became a SMB FAN!
Mustre was there, Samboy, Alvarez and Racela. 2 Games and with those games the crowd is a live.
Stomping on the floor, having the drum roll for the defense, I can see people inside the arena, all are shouting, clapping and Araneta were full of crowd.
Defense was the best offense, unlike now. Hard fouls were rarely to call, today we are seeing soft players.

a great memory that i will always keep.


Most people now will watch on TV or online because of TRAFFIC!

Nothing but to appreciate that PBA still exist, with that kind of crowd I guess most of the fans feels the same, boring or no longer competitive that's why there's not much support both Live and viewerships, though thereare still teams that being supported by their own loyal fans but unlike before where you see those support even in elimination game, fans are buying tickets and cheers for their favorite teams and players that they really idolizing.

Well, I still appreciate the league because it's been the first league here in our country and in fact, they're close to celebrating 50 years since it started which is a huge achievement for the league itself. It's just that, you can't deny the fact that the competition around the league is pretty much gone already because of duopoly.

I still love the league though and I'm also putting some bets on some games. Well, I guess I'll just start to watch games of my favorite team which is SMB to at least show my appreciation to the league.

That's been happening for so many seasons. The crowd of audiences is only going to come either from semi finals and then the finals. The games are no longer exciting and I think that even if they give tickets for free during these normal games, there won't be that much to see. The MPBL and other leagues are crowded with live audience and the PBA management knows what the problem is. And that is every single conference, it's either San Miguel, Ginebra, TNT and other sister teams reaches to the end.

Same thoughts, not that much going to these normal games because of the venue and they're putting it somewhere in the middle where traffic jam always happens, weekends and weekdays.

The entry of Fil-Shams also contributed to the downfall of the PBA imho. Guys like Benjie Paras and Bonel Balingit could still play in a team but they had to be replace by this so called Fil-foreigners as these players are more talented kuno than the pure breed. Also the internet plays a big role in the popularity of the PBA as people will no longer watch PBA as they were having fun browsing Facebook.

I hope that this coming seasons of the PBA, they will put emphasis on the fans and hear our voices.

Another likely reason is that PBA games are no longer available for free online streaming. It appears the league hasn't fully recognized how modern audiences consume content..  people now primarily watch live games on their smartphones and smart TVs. Another likely reason is that PBA games are no longer available for free online streaming. Yeah right, fans nowadays are more into their phones and smart devise sk bringing live streams may help to bring those interests coming from the fans who still like to watch the games, though i see the the point of those fil-am before who really takeout the opportunities from those locals to play, something that force players to retired or to switch to another leagues.

And for sure having SMC and MVP controlling most of the teams that's also affects the downfall of this league as fans expect .out of the time that one their teams will be playing for the finals. No longer entertaining as they dominate the league.

I also thought that there was because in the past, the schedule for PBA games are Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Well, they removed the Friday games for some reasons, eh?

Speaking of that PH version of NBA league pass, I wonder if there are that many who are subscribed to that thing. I mean there are many who are streaming it on Facebook for free. Heck, you can even watch it on some of the gambling websites as well. I'm using Betpanda livestream to watch PBA games as well although it's a bit late compared to the scores shown on the website, but as long as I can watch then I don't see any problem in it.

PBA games making it free? TBH, the league is at it's lowest that I'm also thinking that even they offer it for free, they will not watch. Kind of funny, but that's how low the league is right now. Anyway, I don't think that the management will do this kind of thing. The best thing that they can do is to throw discounted tickets only. Maybe if they will do some giveaways like what they're doing in the NBA where in every timeout, they will allow a fan to shoot the ball in order to win a few thousand dollars. Maybe if they will implement it on PBA as well then that might attract more viewers.

That’s actually a better option since the casino you’re using offers it. Sure, there are free streams on Facebook, but those are illegal and can get cut off anytime. As for Pilipinas Live, it’s not too expensive anyway. So if you're a gambler who wants to watch the games while betting, it’s a decent option though it would be even better if they made it free.

Lucky to those early birds who took NP giving that handicap as they fully dominated Terrafima, there's nothing that DYIP can do as the duo of TR7 and Pringle only produce 4 points, TR7 1 out of 5 while Pfringle is 1 out of 10, while on the otherside, Tolentino showcase another BP performances.

Congrats Kabayan if you took that bet for NLEX as they beat ROS with 109 - 95 Bollick and Torres produce both double digits leading the team for their offense..

That turned out to be a great pick! NLEX didn't just win but they dominated ROS by double digits. There was actually a special market for teams winning by 11+ points. I'm curious what the odds were on that option since NLEX was the underdog. When underdogs cover big spreads like that, the payouts are always extremely satisfying.

If you still remember the blockbuster trade Of Ginebra with Stanhardinger with Tarrafirma? Dyip was in the play-offs and we can tell that those young guys in a young team is really something and can win games.
The has its future in the PBA and can ball with other elites. But trade was done and became the lowest in the league, atfirst , I thought it was time and chemistry that the team needs. But Stan decide not just to part ways with the team but to leave the League. It was less than a year after the trade. If you can also recall when Stan is with SMB together with JUNmar, they are really strong and if he stays there, SMB is really far from other team.
But things changed whe the SMB corp decided to take Stanhardinge to GInkings via trading it to other team with straight swap to MO and afterwards to GSM.

While Tim Cone lauded Christian Standhardinger as a pro in the truest sense of the word, the Barangay Ginebra coach said they had to begin thinking about dealing him to other teams the moment he asked to be traded.

“Once he requested a trade from the team, however, it was hard to step away from that,” Cone said Saturday in a message to SPIN.ph when the Gin Kings finally found a taker for Standhardinger in Terrafirma.

Ginebra didn’t do anything wrong in this trade as it was the player’s decision. The only downside is that he ended up on a weaker team, which was a bad move for him.

That said, I still believe Christian Standhardinger can play at a high level. I’m sure he’ll find his way back to a contender eventually, just like Troy Rosario, who’s now thriving with Ginebra.
