Imagine losing 5 consecutive matches from away. Girona has no hope in the league title anymore but can still secured a place in the UCL if they can try to win 3 or 4 more matches out of 8 matches left.

Girona really start the fight very well at the beginning of the season but couldn't maintain their spirits for long and I think they deserve some respect for that because no one expected it in the first place. I noticed that Girona away performance has been very poor lately but they somehow perform brilliantly on their home ground. Girona dream of winning the league is dashed long ago but we all thought they will be competing with their mates like Cadiz, Granada, Almeria or Getafe but prove everyone wrong by competing against Madrid and Barcelona.

It's disappointing but with the modest budget at their disposal, Girona should be happy and proud of what they have achieved so far. This season gives them a big chance, the chance they might probably not get next season. Their UCL slot is already secured comfortably because they currently occupied the third spot in the league table.

Atletico were playing from home and i think it was actually enough for them to see as an advantage because playing from home will gat your morale high since you will be having majority of the stadium filled with your fans and you wouldn't want to perform any less before them , that asides, Atletico has got a better tactical approach as compared to girona and that's why i mentioned sometimes ago that Girona basically uses an advantage of winning smaller teams and then getting to gather points from them while they try to draw or probably loose to bigger team.

This tactics has helped them a long way to the point they are now on the table and so they literally try to maintain it but then it becomes obvious that they are just little above average whenever they get to meet bigger team that has got a better form and strength than they actually do so i still don't actually get to rate them as a strong team yet but just within t he average and are most likely getting to improve beyond average.

I have to say that in this match against Girona, Atlético Madrid looked really good. Especially Antoine Griezmann. He performed really well. he scored double goal, Looks like he has been able to finally redeem himself after so many bad years. He has probably scored 13 so far in this season. And this was definitely a very good comeback from Atlético Madrid. After starting the match in such a way, they were able to boost everyone's motive and overcome all scare to beat Girona.

You know this is Giorna who played a good control in the 1st half of this season. Now they are showing such types of setback, I think 2nd placed Barcelona is going to be more happy with the result of this match. Because now it has created a good breathing space for them.  Now Atlético is in 4th place with 61 points and Giorna is in 3rd with 65 points. 1st placed Madrid got 78 points and Barcelona 70 points. And I don’t think the positions are going to change around too much anymore.

I thought Cadiz will reduce Barcelona points in their home, but it was a quick move in the first half to see Barcelona scored the first goal before Cadiz players wake up and began to correct some of their mistakes in the match. Girona one way or the other losing that firm grip and touch of the game they had at the start of the season, could it be fatigued or issues from the dressing room? Anyways, this has got to be them best season and they have given all that they can to make sure that they come and get to this level.
Atletico Madrid would rather lose a final than not qualify for the Champions League Competition for next season, this win again Girona showed strength when I felt otherwise. Greezman no doubt is a top lad, I had a good look at him during the Fifa World Cup Competition won by France. He might not be in the best if form but he got his head locked into the game.

As per Villarreal and Bilbao, I don't think I have anything to say. Bilbao are still considered favorites to win but I'm rooting for a draw after a stressful cup win against Mallorca.

Girona's skid hurts. They started the season strong, losing just to Real Madrid. Away losses are mounting, which is tough. However, they're still fighting.
