Goal & an assist by Ansu Fati for Barcelona tonight vs Valencia. This kid is 16 years old, how fucking good could he be?
Didn't know that you also follow Barcelona LOL Yeah 5 -2 win and finally Barcelona seems back in their usual dominance. I had doubt before the match starts since Messi was not playing but that early goal from Fati was assuring that something will happen in this match and then after few minutes goal from De Jong cleared it that this will be Barcelona's turn after some bad starts in the league. Both Fati and Suarez were all over the ground.

I'd say Messi snd Suarez in 16year old but the tag would be outrageous, but he's really that good. Hopefully, Barcelona would nurture his talent. And with that loss for Atletico, now nobody in La Liga has 100% starting.
Every team have had their fair share of reality that the season isn't going to be a roller coaster ride.

Barcelona is always good at nursing young players. They have this history of creating and caring for players and turn them to superstars. I hope this young fella gets the same.

La Masia is not as good as before. In recent years, they only promote several players and Barca is doing something like Madrid did, buying players from various clubs to replace their old players. Compared to the Messi era or a few years before that, the quality of the young players that eventually make it to the 1st club is decreased. Here's a good article covering this topic[1]. This is also a good video[2]. I certainly hope Barca will improve La Masia again and stop doing Madrid tactics and philosophy to build their team. Valverde is probably going to get replaced sooner or later, but if they stick with their current transfer policy, I doubt it will bring back La Masia to its glory again. Hmm, Deulofeu, Adama Traore, Munir, Bojan, Cuenca, Tello...They were also really promising youngsters when they made their debut with Barcelona (next Messi, next Ronaldo, usual marketing stuff), nowadays, everyone forgot about them. Only time will tell if the new La Masia gems like Ansu Fati, Aleña, and Riqui Puig, will follow the footsteps of the 2002-2007 generation (Messi. Pedro, Pique, Fabregas, Valdés), or end up like first ones that I mentioned.
I have a parlay today: Espanyol ML / Sevilla ML / Cagliari MLI'm off to a good start. Espanyol made their comeback in just 3min and ended up grabbing the 3pts after winning 1-2 against Eibar. Sevilla got the job done and they're currently at the top of the league table with 10 pts. Now i just need to wait for Cagliari to not mess up my parlay lol

I agree with @Joniboini There has been a hude the decline in La Masia players reaching the peak of their talents since the present Barca administration. There has been a huge lack of trust in them while the club enormous transfer fees to bring in recruits of the same calibre. All Barcelona does these days is to send these players out on series of loans(often with a buyback clause), That happened with Deulofeu, Denis Suarez, and Munir. All these were kids with great potentials and could have reach some peak if the club had given them better opportunities they were afforded to Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi. I doubt even those three great minds or even Messi would have existed under this current board. Edit: @Toma beat me to it...

I agree with you. Barca wasted so many talents in recent years. I don't like their current policy to buy big stars instead of trusting in academy talents. Fati seems like a promising player, but way too early to hype him. We reached big win against Valencia even without Messi, but again we conceded few goals, what already become into worrying trend.
To summarize what happened in this round - Atletico lost for the first time and they had no chance to win against Sociedad. I lost my only bet today - I had Celta win. But I think referee robbed them by giving 2 questionable red cards in the first half even after VAR review.

Valencia were bound to lose and concede so many goals even with "Messiless" Barcelona. They are currently very disorganized after the unfortunate sacking of the very Coach that helped bring back a trophy for them after along period against Barcelona. Any team in La Liga would love to meet Valencia at this time of transition

Does not mean Barca is really good tho. On average, their xGA is still high. Based on the last 4 matches, they have 3.6 xGA and 6.8 xG. Means that in each match their opponents have a chance to score at least one goal. Still better than Madrid but hey, they're on top of them now. It would be an amazing season (for other teams) if they can kick Barca and Madrid out of top 3. Let's see how they play in the EUFA League then.

I still don't understand how ungrateful some bosses or club presidents can be? Imagine someone brings back the glory to your club theb a few days into the next season you just suck him without even giving him much chance

Do you really think that Deulofeu could have been even the new Pedro, Denis Suarez the new Iniesta and Munir the new... Messi? Those kids had great potential but, as the past brutally showed us, it's a long road from great potential to a great player. All of the mentioned players had their chances at Camp Nou, all of them blew those chances. Let's hope that the same won't happen with Ansu Fati because he seems like a really special kid. The one that hasn't been seen in Barcelona for at least a decade...

^ I disagree none of them had chances Pedro had, Pedro, Iniesta and Busquets all grew up with a Barca team and learnt a lot there in. Deulofeu and Munir were consistently loaned out sometime across leagues, even during those loans spells they didn't underperform, I remember Deulofeu in Everton, Tello in Fiorentina and Munir in Valencia.
Barca has a style of play, and you don't loan kids who are just adapting to a style out to other leagues with a different approach year in year out and expect them to still keep everything together.

Can you define what 'chance' means? Is it one season or two seasons only? Deulofeu: https://www.transfermarkt.com/gerard-deulofeu/profil/spieler/12947613/14 to 14/15 loaned by Barca, joined Everton later in 15/16. 16/17 loaned to Milan, bought by Barca in 17/18, loaned again to Watford. 18/19, Watford bought him. Munir: https://www.transfermarkt.com/munir-el-haddadi/profil/spieler/223725Loaned every year and sold in the end. Hmm.

There's always been that one (maybe two) special kid in Barcelona that every single year people and the media hyped up only to get dissapointed in the not so long future. Only differences with Ansu Fati and the other "young La Masia promising gems" from the past are: 1) Fati scores goals and assists 2) Messi isn't around so any player who manages to have a decent performance will 100% get the spotlight, more so if he's coming from the youth academy. 3) Marketing campaign around this kid has been massive. Also, the fact that a 16yo kid is getting all the attention in the world despite the team having world-class players says a lot about Barcelona.

Hmm. They didn't get any chance obvisously. Deulofeu for example was a victim of commercial deals that Barcelona had probably made behind the scenes. This explains why the player was bought and loaned immediately without giving him any chance of playing competitively or in the first team.

Barcelona will have Messi, Suarez, Griezmann on the squad for Laliga Matchday 5 Against Granada. Messi was a bit low against BVB on UCL. I hope he will back with a bang in Laliga tomorrow.
OTOH, Real Madrid will face strong Sevilla on Monday. PSG got a massive win against Real on UCL. Madrid should overcome their current situation to not be trophyless this season.

I don't think Messi will be in the starting XI. He was pretty bad in the last game vs Dortmund so I don't think they should force him to play right from the start tomorrow. And even without Messi, and considering Barca have been pretty shit without him in away games lately, Granada shouldn't be a difficult opponent for Valverde & Co. If they can't win tomorrow without Messi against a recently promoted team, then Valverde should resign in the post-match press conference. Madrid should overcome their current situation to not be trophyless this season.
Sevilla at home are scary, but against small teams, most of the time they choke against the big teams in the league so hopefully that's what we'll see next Monday

Until the 40th minute, Osasuna vs Real Betis were still very boring. There were no significant shots or attacks. So far only 3 shots have been created. Thankfully I did not bet on this match, it only filled my time watching. Does anyone here bet for Osasuna or Betis?

I'd say Messi snd Suarez in 16year old but the tag would be outrageous, but he's really that good. Hopefully, Barcelona would nurture his talent. These young talents going pro at a young age usually get overwhelmed with the fame, the money and along the way loseit but with the right guidance he might not experience this bad patch of football. And great talent from the young lad just hope he isn't an injury magnet.
