Atletico Madrid passed hard Deportivo Alaves game with one goal, thanks to Suarez again. Joselu missed a penalty in late minutes for Deportivo.
Suarez scored 19 goals in La Liga now, better than his last season in Barca. Barcelona's big loss became Atletico's savior. I wonder what would happen if Suarez didn't go to Atletico, guess we never know!

They really needed this win. If they would have drawn, Barcelona and Madrid would have gotten very close. They are still ahead, but their lead was 13 points a while ago. Would be a miracle if Barcelona would catch them.

Atl.Madrid showed class today after they got eliminated from UCL , they show up today with a great team morale that knows the biggest chance of the season is still in play and that is to win LaLiga.

Well, let's consider this match as an easy training one.. Didn't followed the whole game but whenever I take a look on it, I find Barca scoring! Dembele cancelled goal by VAR was a joke, the guy wasn't offside and I think referees were influenced by the number of Barca's goals or something. 1-6 was the real joke.

Barcelona literally destroyed Real Sociedad. They played like Sociedad wasn't a Top 5 team but an ordinary segunda liga team. Honestly I was expecting Barcelona win but wasn't expecting this difference. They started second half great and scored back to back. Dest and Messi was great on finishing. Griezmann and Dembele also scored so every player in the final third scored today. I wish we see this consistently from Dembele and Griezmann.

Wow, what a win! 6:1 on away game against really decent team. And I wouldn't even say that was our best game this season. Many times Barca this season dropped points when they wasted good opportunities to score. While today our finishing was perfect - we converted almost every moment into goal.
Great way to go into international break. 4 points to Atletico with 10 rounds remaining.

A Real Madrid forward line without Benzema is a forward line that hardly scores. I guess that's why Zidane always plays him.

Unfortunately, it is true.  
However, by playing Benzema in all the matches and with full time, it increases the chance for him to get injured. Zidane has no choices, Benzema must play at all the remaining matches to score, but it will be wiser if he doesn't play full-time (90+ minutes). Why not let another striker play as the starter? Then Benzema can substitute him if it seems hard to score in that match.

I also see that Real Madrid is very dependent on Benzema, even though he is no longer young and playing full time too often puts Benzema
at risk of injury. I understand there are not many pure attackers at Real Madrid, therefore Zidane relies too much on Benzema up front
to score goals. I think Real Madrid must have to get a new striker next season, to be able to replace Benzema. Of course don't buy young
players, but buying star players who have quality that is not different from Benzema, So it makes it easier for Zidane to rotate players,
especially on the front line.

I agree with you that Barcelona is back on track and their focus is really on La Liga the difference of 4 points is not a problem for Barcelona with games remaining I'm sure they can surpass it. The only challenge for Barcelona is against Madrid next month of course playing away this is one of the determinants of their steps towards the title.

this is a big problem, real madrid needs to get more players who can be at benzema level or real madrid will be in a very bad situation, in my opinion real madrid should make an effort to have players like mbappe or haaland ( I heard that Haaland wants to go to Real Madrid), but the reality is showing that the chances of Real Madrid having players like these next season will be very difficult and I predict that next season we will not win anything either

What a game and Messi almost got his hattrick, but I should have went with my gut feeling and put in a bet of -2.5 handicap for my team. Had to watch the highlights several times to enjoy and savor this moment;)

So Real kept the pressure on with Benzema really showing they can count on him. That guy is really enjoying his time now isn't he? Now we will see if Suarez and Messi can both keep up their personal goalscoring race and at the same time take their teams to the top. I really hope Atletico win though, I don't want this race to be over SO soon:)

Yes benzema is performing well this season he done his job well and he was decissive in many games same as messi and suares but i think that real madrid has less chance than atletico and barcelona since their performance is unstable plus they played a game more .

It's still many more games left but yeah based on last night's performance, it's so hard to see how the table could give way to Real. You need both Atletico and Barca to fall, although they will hope to win every game until the May meeting when both Barca and Atleti play.

I must admit that it was a very astounding result. When we take into account that Real Sociedad were very good in their home matches until this match, I was expecting this could be a very tough one for Barcelona. But Barcelona played unbelievably great and completely erased them. Messi had another great game also that he had 2 goals and 1 assist. Dest also scored 2 goals and it was his day too.

Barcelona's performance in yesterday's game was a standout one. That's one of their best performances in recent times but I noticed the defense is still not at its best. Jordi Alba and Messi were phenomenal in yesterday's game. Currently Barcelona sits 4 points away from title leader, Atlético Madrid. That means they still have a good chance at winning the Spanish title this season even though Madrid keeps knocking. There's still about 10 matches to go, if Barcelona can keep up performances like this for the reminder of the season, they might end up winning it.

With a win against San Sebastian, Barca can close to within two points of Atletico and overtake Real if Atletico loses to Alaves, otherwise it's 5 points, which is catchable with 10 games left.
