I think Madrid has kept their first squad players. but indeed playing for Benzema is a risk for Madrid and it will be a loss if Benzema gets injured. After this, I'm sure they will take a short break before starting training to focus on the important game in the Champions League.

In my opinion, Benzema was released full time in this match because they have no CF on the bench, no player has the same position as Benzema. Jovic and Diaz are injured, they cannot play for several weeks. But if Ancellotti wants Benzema to take a rest, I think he can replace him with Isco and keep Rodrygo-Asensio on the field.

I agree that this decision is too risky. What if Benzema gets injured or too tired because of playing full time? Ancelotti must regret it, Real Madrid has no other CFs who can play as well as Benzema. They really depend on Benzema to win UCL, most goals in UCL were created by Benzema. Well, when Benzema is now very popular because of how he plays in Real Madrid currently. And today, it is likely lost, how he missed his two penalties without any goal, this may hurt not only for all players and fans but also for Benzema himslef. He may be very disappointed and regret of the result,but it has been over. Fortunately, Real Madrid is still superior in the goal so the club still wins the game.
