I think that Real Madrid will not have much problem about making a solid return after this long World Cup break. Above all else, they have Ancelotti as their manager. He is one of the best manager choices for Real Madrid undoubtedly. He has built a good chemistry with the players. We can understand this easily by their amazing successes last season. They won the La Liga and Champions League titles both with a similar squad to this. Maybe there are some new additions to the team now but the squad is generally the same.

Therefore I don't doubt them much in this season also. As long as Ancelotti keeps this discipline level in the team, they can still continue to have successful seasons with nearly the same squad.

Barcelona should be continuing from where they left by the returnal of the World Cup. Espanyol isn't a very serious opponent for them considering their results in the league so far. Atletico Madrid is going to be a bigger test for them of course. Atletico Madrid are technically not much impressive now. They still have weaknesses due to bad management I think. They just can't use their potential efficiently.

There have been so many big names announcing the same thing these days. Messi, Ronaldo and now Benzema... This is upsetting for football fans of course because we won't see these big players in big tournaments with their national teams anymore. After making this announcement I started wondering how many years Benzema is planning to continue his general football career as well. As long as he is a part of Real Madrid I think he might continue to play at least the age of 40. Otherwise he might retire earlier than that by playing for a MLS team etc. for some time.

It is a pity to see someone like Benzema already say goodbye to the highest team in the world. France will miss him and the supporters will be sad too. After ten days we are heading for another heated competition for the title race as Barcelona is going to host Espanyol and Real Madrid will be at Estadio José Zorrilla Valladolid these both matches on papers looking easy because opponents are not strong enough after in second week after break and first round in new year could be challenging for both top rank teams with Barcelona will be at Metropolitano Stadium Madrid for facing Atlético Madrid even this is also not going to be challenging match with their form and performance before break

As far as i know if messi was also thinking to not retire from the international career. I think that messi is still thinking to winning the upcoming world cup that will be coming in 2026. It seems like that he was believing even he was not young again and he is still capable to defend the title

Benzema has a few years remaining until his age can be considered as old enough to play in the professional football. I think that he will not retire from his professional football very soon as he is still reliable enough to play as the main striker for real madrid but the situation can change once he will always be struggling with his injury and that will prevent him to play for real madrid while real madrid was starting to search the new replacement for him.
