their points were too close that even one game would make a huge difference in the next points tally. but looking at barcelona performance in the matches they have played it looks like they have a good enough direction to continue to be consistent in the remaining matches this season. Both will catch each other uups and downs till the end of the season while the rest of the top 7 wil fight for the champions league and of course the el classico would always be a crucial match to win to get more gap and pushing the first position whether it's barcelona or real madrid .

It is always a problem when a team loses more games to smaller teams in the league because more number of games played in the league every season are smaller sides and losing these vital points will definitely cut you short of desired number of points. Real Madrid have to work on this deficiences and take every game serious and get the most points from every game. At this point, Barcelona are two points ahead of Real Madrid, which is a positive sign for them. But I personally think that Real Madrid have the edge over them in the longer run. The main key factor is that Real Madrid have a really robust squad depth compared to Barcelona.

If we take a look at Real Madrid's midfield squad depth, they have Toni, Kroos, Luka, Modrić, Tchouameni, Camavinga, and Fede Valverde but Barcelona do not have that many options.

Mbappe is only one of star players and Real Madrid have enough attraction to star players. They have great tradition in bith La Liga and Champions League. They have won most titles in Champions League and La Liga and many of their players won Ballon d'Or. Who will not want to join them?

With Mbappe dependence on his speed, his career might like Gareth Bale if he get a dramatical injury. I think we will watch this race until the end.  La Liga is an exciting league and the race to the top is currently swirling between Barcelona and Real Madrid.  Barcelona needs to prepare more focused on the big games.  They don't have any difficulty playing against small teams and I think the important thing for them is the fight against big teams.  Karim Benzema and Vinicius want to put on a great performance in order to make Real Madrid champions this year.
