Real Madrid still has quite a long way to go in La Liga, and they should not be happy with their position at the top of the standings because the points they have are still very easy to catch.Real Madrid can be said to be successful and have managed to become the best team in La Liga when the points they have are quite far from those of other teams, as Napoli did last season. So far, Barcelona is still trying to take the first position, which is currently controlled by Real Madrid.

Not only can they be pursued, the article currently has the same points as Girona, both collect 38 points and are 4 points adrift of Barcelona who are ranked 3rd. Obviously Real Madrid cannot be complacent with what they have achieved so far, tough challenges still await them ahead.

I really don't see Girona lifting the laliga title, in as much as I wouldn't want to talk down on any team owing to the fact that sometimes wonders do happen in football just like in case of Leicester city in the premier league some years ago, but I still do not envisage Girona winning it, perhaps it's still too early to decide because there are many game to go and many more big teams to play against and I doubt if they are going to beat any one of these big teams like Barca, Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, real Sociedad, or Sevilla even if they are in a poor form at the moment.

Yes, I didn't see that discussion Copa del Rey either, even though it might be interesting. But maybe not, because Girona opponent is Orihuela (unpopular team) so the possibility for Girona to winning tonight are quite high. The odds for Girona @1.27, Girona seemed to be the favorite team.
Also, Celta opponent is Sestao. TBH I don't know, about the strength of that team but the possibility for Celta to winning is also opened, because the odds for Celta currently @1.35 and become the favorite team in that match. Apart from Girona and Celta matches, we also have Cadiz vs Arandina and Bilbao vs Cayon scheduled in Copa del Rey.

Somehow, the top teams in matches like this sometimes only play with second tier players so ya,even though they are favorites to win, but in reality they can also fail in matches like this. I understand that the points they collected so far makes them feel like they are a good team but when they face Barcelona the real result will show itself.

I think Athletico Madrid will not have trouble against Almeira neither, and I think Madrid should beat Betis easily as well, so far this week it looks like quite good teams and good matchups, Bilbao may end up beating Granada as well that's true and could be wagered as well if you want to, feels like a good win weekend for us.

I agree with your point, but can't we give Girona some hope in this match? Remember, they've been playing well to maintain their current league position; it won't cost them anything to put in more effort in this match to avoid losing all three points to Barcelona; at the very least, they can settle for a draw in this match if they want to.

I don't think you watch Girona game in this season or you think they follow short cut to get to that position in the la Liga league table and, it will be difficult for Barcelona to score a single goal if they meet Girona players soon because they have squads that are capable to use Barcelona players to achieve victory at the end of the game. I don't think Barcelona can win  Girona because Barcelona performance this season is nothing to write home about, I know that Barcelona use to be a very strong team that cannot be easily defeated but however it has become obvious that Barcelona are not longer the strong team that we use to know, because if it was when Barcelona was in a good form they would have been on the first or second position by now.

If Barcelona is able to play like in the Atletico match, even though the results are slim. however, Barcelona really controlled the match in midfield. Felix, can be considered a hero when he overthrew Atletico Madrid. but in fact, in 90 minutes Gundohan was the one who really played very impressively in that match. including De Jong, who is starting to adapt to the German player. Likewise with Pedri's role, which was quite impressive even though he was absent for quite a long time. These 3 midfielders will control the course of Barcelona's match against Girona.

La Liga this year is very competitive and strangely enough Girona is holding that first place after so many games despite losing at home against Real Madrid.They have found that mentality that are founding late goals in almost every single game and that mentality is the mentality of a winning team who never surrenders before the end whistle.

It would be nice for them to win it La Liga and even if they don't do so I am pretty sure they will be able to be in the top 4 in the end of the season which would be a huge achievement for them as they will be playing in Champions League next year,for a team like Girona this will be a dream come true.

You are right, Barcelona had several good opportunities to double their lead against Atletico Madrid, but unfortunately their players' finishing was less than satisfactory. Barcelona played better than Atletico Madrid at that time in building attacks, but Barcelona also performed well in defense when Atletico Madrid took over the attack.

In truth, Girona is not stronger than Atletico Madrid, but they are a good team this season. It's absolutely bad to underestimate Girona even though they were a team that had promotion status last season, but this season Girona is a strong contender in the top four.
