I fail to understand how they couldn't use their great academy for their first team? La masia is one of the best academies to create young talents, so where is the results when it comes to titles?

Barcelona is a good club, but they haven't had much success in the Champions League since Messi left. However, with a new coach and new players, they can perform well this season and win trophies, even if it's not the Champions League. However, winning the title will be challenging due to a lack of talented players that can perform but since a new coach he can do all is possible best and won trophys for the fans and the club. Every season Barcelona are only club that is challenging Real Madrid most but last Season they didn't get any opportunity in the league and against Real Madrid,  Girona have a change and defeat them home and away. They finish season without a trophy i think that is why they sack xavi in the Barcelona and bring new coach. And I see the coach will help the club very well and win trophys this season for them probably if he will play well against other clubs. Let see if Barcelona can get chance and achieve something this season.

Honestly, it is a fair assessment, and despite the opportunities that Real Madrid have because they have the most ideal squad at this time. Barcelona is Real Madrid eternal rival, and they are the ones who are more relied on to pressure Real Madrid next season. Atletico Madrid and Girona in my opinion can also be considered, both teams have the potential to disrupt the competition in the top four. The era of Barcelona's glory in Europe, especially in the Champions League, has passed, even since Messi was still at Barcelona. Meanwhile, if you really want to know when Barcelona won its last Champions League title then you just need to find the reference, it was in the 2014-2015 season when Barcelona beat Juventus 3-1.

Barcelona's success in the Messi era can no longer be used as a basic reference now. They certainly had some good academy players when they triumphed in the Champions League, but now Barcelona is no longer the same.

Several previous coaches did not rely on academy players, but since Xavi arrived, he has introduced several of them. I think Barcelona just needs time to return to glory in Europe, especially in the Champions League, but I'm sure that will never be easy to achieve without strong financial support.

There are up moments and down moments for every club but I think Xavi gave his best for that team and all. If not for that emotional blackmail the club did with him, he would have make sure Barcelona got everything they deserve because I can remember they were pursuing Real Madrid but the luck was more on Real Madrid for losing just a single match for the entire season why Barcelona had the chance to beat Girona but they couldn't do it.

There is a new sherif in town to handle the new team and give then what they need to win trophy this season and we never can tell, I wil be happy if Real Madrid continues to win everything but it's not nice to see one of the best club back then become so trash because of the board management decision, there something unique Flick can do to bring this team together to win something so we can see how lively El classico can be again.

The depth of a team is one very vital need of almost every squad that cannot be overly emphasized as it's got a whole lot to do with their performance and that's why a team with a better depth, most often do stay ahead of a team with a weaker depth. Barcelona do not really have an issue with their depth but an improvement will literally go a long way helping them becoming much better in the new season, you made mention of them needing a defensive midfielder which is a good one but then they aswell need some support at the defense properly, they have gotten a fair attack and striking force but the mid field and defense needs some more attention.

No need to check the schedule because Madrid's opponent for the UEFA Super Cup is Atalanta because Madrid won the Champions League and Atalanta is the champion of the Europa League.

I was wondering how Real Madrid will play without Toni Kroos because since he was retired from football Real Madrid didn't find any replacement of him and my prediction about Real Madrid lineup is probably Ancelotti will playing Brahim Diaz or Modric on Kroos position but i would like to see how effective these players to replace Kroos position on the team

About player condition Atalanta has Mateo Retegui who transfered from Genoa so this player probably will be played on Scamacca position as centre striker and here is the current odds for both teams which you can see the odds for them has been increases but Real Madrid is still the favourite

After financial ruin due to poor management a few seasons ago and the loss of Barcelona's golden era with tiki taka, which has always been a scheme that is difficult to break, they must now try from scratch again to make their performance better.

Previously Xavi tried to revive that hope but because the relationship was not very good made this difficult to force and they had to try again with a new coach in the same conditions.

It is difficult but with their big names and there are still some pretty good players currently in the squad at least it is a good strength for Barcelona because after all this is the beginning again for them to improve themselves even though currently Madrid is still above them but still the rivalry must remain they echo in order to make Barcelona not like a club that is almost dead just because of the difficulty of competing for trophies.

They need to aim at two purposes, acceptable results, and improvement on finance with time.

With Nico Williams, Barcelona don't need to buy this player and it makes sense if they give up on this transfer after some negotiation with Bilbao.

Unless there will be another surprise this season in Laliga like we saw Girona did last season, if nothing of such happens the traditional 3 teams are still going to dominate Laliga. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. These clubs has been the top performers for years in the league and am not expecting that to change this season, though I would still prefer other clubs to rise to the occasion and make the league more and more competitive. Atletico Madrid has recruited important players to their squad and looking at them it seems they want to make a statement this season by going for the league. They have the right players now to challenge for the league. They made some good transfers that I'm really impressed. I see Atletico Madrid as the club that will rival real Madrid for the league this season, though many are expecting Barcelona to do that but for me Atletico are more equiped for that, than Barcelona.
