They are extending it because of some circumstances, probability of sale got extended. Actually, most of the time that is the main reason anyways as I always say we have agreed to their terms when we joined the bounty so all you need to do is to comply or leave thats all about it.

Yes, they do it, when they are having a hard time reaching their soft cap, they can do that because when you joined the bounty campaign you are bound by the rules of the campaign if you are going to join a campaign, be sure that you can leave the campaign anytime and you can retain the stakes, so you will not bound by the campaign rules.

Most of the bounty programs have it stated clearly in the general rules that the entire bounty program is subjected to changes by the campaign manager and the project's team. Hence in times when the project faces difficulties reaching their soft cap, the bounty program can be extended to additional weeks. Some projects are too good to increase the bounty allocation in such circumstance whereas others keep the old allocation.

If bounty campaign added extra week about two or three week later is fine because ICO sale not reached target, they will try to added several weeks later and their ICO coins can sold out, many bounty campaign added extra week because the ICO team have running for several week later to sell their ICO coin, if ICO sold with short time bounty campaign will running not depend with schedule and finished early.

with the addition of bounty processing time, it is expected to increase sales of tokens as expected. I think as long as it is clear how long the weekly addition is not a problem and usually from the project team increases the bounty allocation

Most of the time added is only used as their alibi that can not make a project run well.
I strongly agree with your opinion that if the addition in order to increase sales of tokens, but more is the opposite.
after the addition of time also finally received many tokens that are actually worthless alias far below the price of ico.
can not guarantee that the addition of time can lift the price of the token.

if it's like that, it looks like you have to look for another project. i think the time required to complete the project is too long, i do not believe in such a project. you have to think again to work on a project like that.

but if the project looks good, it doesn't matter if you continue. the decision is in yourself.

yes, we all know that every project has its own rules and it all depends on the project team because they have the right to decide, both the allocation cuts and the additional duration for the project. if a participant leaves the project, the participant stake allocation will be lost and the 12 week effort will be in vain.

Rarely do you want to add token allocations even though you have added extra time. usually they add time because sales have not reached what was set and they don't want to lose. with the addition they hope there will be a change but that also does not guarantee because there is an additional time but the team has sold the token first, when the token is completed there is no price. many modes are done with the addition of time, don't be quick to believe.

As per my research, last year Files FM bounty was extended but after bounty ends bounty hunters are told that the softcap was not met that they are only able to raised little money so they are not going to get paid, most times bounty that got extended are facing fund issue either in ICO or IEO

As long as the workload and compensation matches, I personally do not have a problem with this. But, I think if the project is extended, then you must first received already at least a big part of your compensation. If the project is extended because the gathered fund is not enough, then it will be scary for me to continue the project.

this is the thing that I think about. I might choose not to continue the work if the softcap of the project has not been collected. thinking that the team extended the bounty for 8 weeks or 2 months, that is something that really needs to be considered. I suggest looking for another project if it is doubtful about that project. however, I think if the goal is to reach the hardcap, I think it doesn't matter, especially if the team provides all the useful information.

Its all about taking chances when it comes to making decision on extended bounty campaigns, be watchful on the present fundraising results, if its still very far away then it will be wise to stop promoting such project but if the fund raising date is still far away then there still enough time to gather softcap successfully

It shouldn't happen. It's a sign of a bad campaign and a bad project. It's okay if they add a corresponding amount of new tokens to the reward to cover the extra time - say if pool was 2 million tokens for a 10 week bounty, then if extend by another 5 weeks they need to add another 1 million tokens to the pool.

If they don't add the extra tokens, then they are decreasing your reward for work done. If they aren't prepared to add extra tokens, they shouldn't extend it.

If someone pays you $10 to clean 2 cars, they can't suddenly say: actually it's going to be 3 cars but still $10 - they need to give you an extra $5.

How can you be so sure that an extended campaign is guaranteed a bad project?
I have encountered campaigns that extend their project, and it is a good project, I receive a decent amount of bounty and the project become successful.

Demanding additional tokens for payment is not applicable, the bounty allocation fund is always fixed, it is impossible to increase just because they extended the project.

If someone pays you $10 to clean 2 cars, they can't suddenly say: actually it's going to be 3 cars but still $10 - they need to give you an extra $5.

Such facts do not apply in bounty campaigns.

Never trust the softcap meters on any mock projects because they're not making it dynamically based on people invested in but it's just a hardcode that can be adjust anytime.
So, if the campaign is already extending more and more, that means they're just funding money and not thinking about the product that they will make they just buying time so they will have nothing to do while investors are keep invest some money to them

Do not be scared of bounties that add extra weeks to their campaigns, moreover you are not losing anything except your precious time, for me its worth the risk cos its better than not trying at all, i know bounties are not that profitable because of present market condition but few ones still did very good

8 weeks is too much in my opinion, however, I have participated in MB8coins which had 4 weeks campaign and another extra 4 weeks again. I would like to join those 8 weeks Campaign of Mb8coins If I could turn back the time. because they turn to be a legit project and with the 4 weeks alone you will get $4000 of payments from the first time it got listed on exchanges, with another 4 weeks that will give you, 8 weeks = $8000. not bad right? If that project you are talking about is the same as Mb8coins, you will also get that huge amount. but if you're talking about some shitcoins, you're likely wasting your time if you continue promoting their project.
