There gonna be another batch w/ chips?
I am confused, why is it still for sale on ur site if cant get board + chips anymore? Or is both chips + board assembled still avail for purchase @ 1100...
What we're selling on the website is just a full board, add a cooler and power supply and you're good to go. We still have some of those available from batch one. We're also looking at a second batch following a little more than a week behind. The assembly service is a little more complicated to set up since we need to have a good conversation with the customers about timelines, whether chips are in hand, getting them to us in time, things like that. That cutoff has past so customers with chips in hand would get taken care of in the second batch now. Call me completely confused or even stupid What is advertised on your web page ? Retail, private, corporate, local or international, single or multi ? For us foreigners it's hard to get what is going on. I'm checking this thread every day and yesterday someone from your team declared that it is too late to purchase board with chip on it. This board with chip was never I mean never for sale yet So when did you manage to sell them ? Is there another site ? Are you selling boards ? Are you selling chips ? Are you selling board and chip unmounted ? Are you selling board and chip mounted ? Does the "board" mean with chip or without chip ? I'm personally completely lost We're selling boards with chips on them. It's a complete retail product, and we started selling it a little while ago once the prototype was done and we starting ordering everything for retail production. You add a cooler, plug in a power supply, and start mining with it. There's no explicit dates involved with these, though as some point we'll run out of Batch 1 boards (the stock on the store will go to 0) and we'll start selling boards that will be produced in Batch 2. We do offer assembly services where if you have your own HashFast chips we'll build them into Habaneros as well, just contact us at peppermining@gmail.com to discuss that. That's not listed on the website, though I'll try to get it added today so that it's explicit that there is a difference between the two. Again, I believe the comment by gateway was just a bit of confusion on our end. We still have some unsold B1 boards and we'll let you know when all the B1 ones are gone, although we don't expect a large gap between the first and second runs. Many thank MrTeal So when ever you or your team uses word "BOARD" it's board with chip. You will never refer to "BOARD" as a board without the chip ? Maybe boundle or miner will be less confusing for us non native English speakers May I ask you one thing ? You are selling pre-orders for a board with chip. Do you have chips in your hand ? Thank you

Technically we don't anymore, as they're at the assembly house being prepared and baked (a lot of surface mount components and the PCBs will get heated prior to assembly to evaporate any absorbed moisture). I'll be flying down on Monday to oversee the start of production and will be flying home Thursday, so I will be there for the initial production bringup.

Why you didn't say that I thought that pre-order means that you are just collecting money to buy chips from hash last. So you have already received chips and are in your ownership ? That would change my position then

The complete board + chips are about to go into production. Which will result in a finished product in a week or 2? Its a pre order in the sense that you have to wait 2 weeks for delivery. Not in the sense they there is not yet a product.

Mr. Teal,
Can you provide:
(1) a table or graph showing hash rate x power consumption x clock speed (for your board, not the chip).
(2) a picture of the back of the board showing the back side heatsink and dimensions of the board and heatsink together?
Thanks!
Interested, but I really need an answer on this...

Timelines that are of course subject to change (this is Bitcoin after all, you'd better believe I got the extra flight change insurance on my tickets), but from the word I'm getting is that they will run the bottom sides Monday, and we'll get the first articles on Tuesday afternoon for verification. After that, it will be full production of the board. I'm not sure when they'll all get through test, but I would guess shortly after Memorial Day if nothing seriously goes wrong.

Interested, but I really need an answer on this... It's on my To-Do list for this weekend. We have a new tool that uses a known dataset to benchmark the boards, so we should be able to generate these numbers more reliably and quickly that sticking it at Eligius and waiting to see the data come in.

I'm not saying they're not, but perhaps some real reasons may be a little more helpful in convin ing someone to pay $1100 for a Mr.Teal board instead of $900 for a VMC knockoff.

Interested, but I really need an answer on this... Frequency | Hashrate | Voltage Setpoint | Board Power (W[DC]) | Efficiency (J/GH) | 925 | 704 | 0.97 | 783.0 | 1.11 | 900 | 685 | 0.95 | 727.9 | 1.06 | 875 | 666 | 0.935 | 682.5 | 1.02 | 850 | 647 | 0.92 | 636.0 | 0.98 | 825 | 628 | 0.91 | 598.4 | 0.95 | 800 | 609 | 0.89 | 559.1 | 0.92 | 775 | 589 | 0.88 | 528.8 | 0.90 | 750 | 570 | 0.87 | 498.7 | 0.87 |
Test notes -Single board prototype tested, not a production unit -Power measurements are DC at the board input -Coarse-grained voltage optimization was used, no attempt to individually optimize each die was made For the picture of the board with the heatsink, I can't provide that yet. Next week.

Well, the VMC board is the Evo board. There are a few software improvements that we're porting from the Chilis such as having the ability to auto clock the voltage and frequency to max out your thermal headroom. This is probably even more important with these boards since they tend to be thermally limited more than anything. Hardware wise, most apparent difference other than the board being slightly larger will be our addition of a custom backplate to both sink heat from the VRMs and board in general as well as to support the chip. Make no mistake about it, dissipating 600W from a chip isn't easy, and you need a lot of pressure to get good enough contact to do that. The stock backplate that ships with most cpu coolers isn't up to the task of preventing board flex in really high pressure installs and you will get board warp. Our backplate bears right on the PCB under the chip to support it with minimal flex. The added bonus is that at high hashrates even an efficient VRM needs cooling. Having a heatsink added helps reduce the amount of air you need to move to do so, increasing efficiency. Outside that, there's the intangibles. We'll be burning these in long enough to test that they function as expected, and then shipping them. They're not pulls from a personal farm and you don't have to hope that we're pulling a random one instead of just pulling a weak performer and sending it to you. Then there's customer service; we do screw up and miss an email or message now and then but our primary focus is on making, selling and shipping boards. We're not going to sit on our "in stock" boards for two+ weeks before shipping them because we're too busy trying to figure out how to run a mining farm. I won't lie on the specs; while we quote the DC power of the board since we're selling raw boards and the wall power will be installation dependent, those are measured results. We say 650GH/s because we're confident that given proper cooling the boards will all get there. This isn't authoritative as I've only had a few samples, but I think even 700 should be achievable for most people with good cooling. However 750GH/s will probably be very hit or miss, and 750GH/s at 0.833J/GH is a blatant lie.

Ignore the crazyass aircooler, but the aluminium block is provided with the VMC board AFAIK. Is the Habanero's block similar or what are the differences?
