UPDATE: NGC Proof of Burn - Coin Distribution Symmetry address has been generated. The Proof of Burn premine has now been destroyed in it's entirety, slightly ahead of schedule. http://explorer.nigeriacoin.org/address/NigeriaDestroyCurrencyHAhaHAmoSNy2 Description
NigeriaCoin is a peer-to-peer virtual protocol and currency and similar to Bitcoin and Litecoin. It is specifically designed with one primary differentiator, Coin Distribution Symmetry (CDS). CDS is an inflation adjustment mechanism to minimize dilution of share values from Proof of Work (PoW) mining. This provides both miners and investors with incentives to participate in the currency.
Why Nigeria? "Nigeria is going to shoot past South Africa to become the largest economy in Africa on March 31." (nigeria giving sa a run for it's money, 2014) Nigeria also has more citizens than Russia and actually has a quite tech savvy community.
Despite these positive things, Nigerians are still struggling with a centralized and corrupt central bank and currency.
"Nigeria’s currency, the naira, has stayed in free-fall, the day after the suspension of graft-fighting central bank chief Lamido Sanusi. Analysts say the move makes investors nervous and will encourage capital flight." (nigeria's currency tumbles, 2014).
In the country, a huge gap exists between the wealthy elite and the rest of the population. Some politicians vow to "fight corruption that keeps an elite fabulously wealthy while the majority of Africa's most populous nation ... struggle to survive on less than $1 a day, according to U.N. statistics."
Yet, due to a lack of transparency in the monetary system and a centralized currency, it is still widespread to a sickening degree. For instance, "no one has been prosecuted for a fuel subsidy scam uncovered in 2012, in which some $17 billion was paid to companies for fuel that never was delivered." (therepublic - nigeria missing billions, 2014).
Most foreigners know of Nigeria only for their 419 scams. NigeriaCoin acknowledges the struggles of the repressed population and salutes their creativity in trying to break free from the shackles of a corrupt government. Their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity has led them to an easy source of cash.
Edit: removed some controversial lines, original unedited text can be read on the whitepaper.
Specifications
- Latest Bitcoin Core 0.9.0 updates including Tx malleability fix
- Skein algorithm that runs cooler on GPUs and is 30% more energy efficient compared to Scrypt. It also dodges the Scrypt ASICs coming out for fairer initial distribution
- 2 minute block target (because anything less will have too many orphan blocks)
- 41900 coins per block (as suggested. it's just too funny to pass up. thank you otila)
- 88 billion total coins (NigeriaCoin loves the Chinese and the Chinese love 8's)
- Difficulty retargets every block using a modified Digishield adjustment
- 3% dev premine for bounties, giveaways, development, support and maintenance, new feature developments etc.
- Large Coin Distribution Symmetry block of 47% (NEW CONCEPT, we will destroy this premine via Proof of Burn to adjust for inflation created by PoW mining)

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I was slightly interested until I read this line: "It's truly greed on the part of people being scammed that's to blame and not the desperation of the repressed Nigerian people."
Fuck you! So many people have been scammed out of money from greedy bastards like you, and it's their fault? I'm calling it now, this whole coin is a scam. Nobody trust it, consider yourself warned!

Dear Sir, SEEKING YOUR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE. Please permit me to make your acquaintance in so informal a manner. This is necessitated by my urgent need to reach a dependable and trust wordy foreign partner. This request may seem strange and unsolicited but I will crave your indulgence and pray that you view it seriously... Yeah you get the drift

I know. Blaming the victim, while giving excuses for the scammers. If anything, this developer is making the Nigerian people look bad.

We can take that language out about the 419 scams, but taking on NigeriaCoin as a task is a difficult one without addressing the 419 stigma associated with it. We intend for this to truly be a NigeriaCoin which can eventually be adopted by the people and something they can be proud of. Yes, on distribution, we haven't figured it out yet and it's possible that we never will. If someone can actually figure out fair distribution to the Nigerian populace, please contact us. Instead we are going to donate towards Nigerian non-profits and those proceeds and campaigns will be 100% transparent. Any crowdfunded campaign done through a reputable escrow and NGO for the benefit of the Nigerian people will receive developer funds towards their goal. We want a community that cares about Nigeria, not quick pump and dumpers to be mining this coin. On the 47% Coin Distribution Symmetry allocation, yes it's a premine. But, it's never going to hit the market, it will be destroyed via an automated script on an ultra secure private server behind a firewall and NAT. The coins will be destroyed on a regular basis and the burn address will be viewable from the block explorer. There are two benefits from this CDS block. - 0% inflation due to proof of work mining.
- coinmarketcap is forced to calculate marketcap of NGC based on the entirety of the CDS block in addition to new coins, which gives this coin extra visibility.
Obviously there's going to be lots of, "THIS IS A SCAM" talk on this thread, but can only assure you that we are not and that we are going to be fully transparent about all funds. We have a team of about 5 devs working full time on putting together a proper launch with the latest technologies and we will be successful. Skeptics and naysayers need not join, but if you're ready to create something revolutionary together, please join us at launch. We will try to get P2pool ported for launch also, so that could be available soon too, and we will promote the use of P2pools for enhanced decentralization and increased safety for miners.

Does the Nigerian government keep track of it's citizens with a National insurance number, social security number or anything of a similar nature? If so you could use that for each citizen to claim? Then you are going to have to get the word out to your fellow citizens, some sort of media campaign? I'm assuming not everyone has computers, maybe a smartphone app?

I'm pretty sure giving a large block of coins to the corrupt government means that the people will surely not get them. That's exactly the problem now in Nigeria where the rich and connected have sold off the mineral / oil rights to the country and horde all the wealth without fairly distributing it to the people. Never give the government anything, especially the Nigerian government, no offense.

I still don't follow. Even if we had social security numbers, how would you distribute it fairly?

They can really use assistance from the world in the adoption of a peer-to-peer currency this NGC to free them from their financial slavery and inequality. Being able to sell goods and services abroad without worrying about remittances in a corrupt local currency would just be the start.

You're right. However that is changing rapidly. Internet Usage Statistics: 45,039,711 Internet users as of Dec/2011, 26.5% of the population, according to ITU. http://www.internetworldstats.com/af/ng.htmOn distribution, we haven't figured it out yet and it's possible that we never will.

让我们当个快乐的矿工吧. i dont get it lol xd

Next we should have a coin for Somalia. Those poor Somali pirates are only kidnapping people for ransom because they have no choice. If if wasn't for the greedy merchants sending there ships through those waters, the Somali people would not have the opportunity to be a pirate.

I don't know how you can compare Somali pirates and rebel warlords with guns to 419 scams from some guy sitting behind a computer terminal.

You Americans (or others that spend their time on the English spoken internet) which tend to point fingers at anyone in the world, just quit the socio-politic discussions, the view of Nigerian scams and other offtopic garbage.
What matters is: scam coin, or legit? If there is IPO or large premine, escrow is required.

100% open to having the proof of burn - CDS block escrowed. We have custom scripts which burn blocks every 2 minutes to offset inflation and the escrow agent would have to run these also. Who would you suggest?

What if the shoplifter was a mother who couldn't afford food for her child? Wouldn't you want to donate money to help her? That is a much better example. If the mother asked for help before becoming a thief, I could sympathize, and would be willing to help. I would never sympathize for a Nigerian scammer. I have almost been a victim of one of these scams. A man claiming to be from my area, but on missionary assignment in Nigeria, was renting his house out. After being told that once my money order is received in Nigeria, he would overnight me the keys. Finding it strange that he took his house keys to Africa with him, I looked a little deeper. The house didn't belong to him and it was vacant because it was for sale, not for rent. The man took photos from a real estate website and reposted the pictures on Craigslist. So I guess I am a greedy bastard that deserves to be ripped off, just because I was looking for affordable housing.

47% pre-mine is a bad idea
Please read the paper and think about the economics behind it. It's not a traditional premine.

It would have to be born before it can die. I don't see this Nigeriacoin heap of shit even launching. The developer sympathizes with con men and scammers, yet expects us to trust him. He believes getting scammed is the victims fault.

Here is Nigeria Coin anthem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJAT6fEn0zwHas a sockpuppet joined the conversation? I think it is a perfect reason to discriminate against him. He blames victims not criminals. I've heard a lot of rapists do that. Is the Nigeriacoin plan to rape the community of its Bitcoin? My guess is, yes it is. I would say for you to read the original post, but my guess it, your puppet master is the one that wrote it.

How can I sabotage it? If I see a pile of shit on the ground and decide I want to destroy it, I can't. No matter how much I keep stomping on it, it is still a pile of shit. It can't become anymore worthless, because all we are talking about is a heap of shit.

`2 minute block target (because anything less will have too many orphan blocks) `41900 coins per block (as suggested. it's just too funny to pass up. thank you otila) `88 billion total coins (NigeriaCoin loves the Chinese and the Chinese love 8's) `Difficulty retargets every block TBD (currently testing Digicoin and modified KGW algos in testnet) `3% dev premine
Holyshit! 3% premined is 2mil blocks! F!U!M!

Nigeria Coin!?! OK...Now that's just going too far. Every scam in the 20th and 21st century has originated from Nigeria. I wouldn't touch this coin with my worst enemy's cock. And if I did mistakenly mine a few, I'm sure someone from Nigeria would start a phone scam to try to steal them from me. Yeah...I don't think so.... Didn't the U.S. airdrop millions of condoms into Nigeria? See how well that worked out......Just sayin.....

And if I did mistakenly mine a few, I'm sure someone from Nigeria would start a phone scam to try to steal them from me. Yeah...I don't think so.... Didn't the U.S. airdrop millions of condoms into Nigeria? See how well that worked out......Just sayin..... Please touch with enemy cock. Rooster bring Nigeria good luck. Nigeria not scam. I promise riches and now I bring you Nigeriacoin. You send IPO, I send you Nigeriacoin. Yes? Good! You send yet? I VERY BUSY MAN, YOU SEND NOW! Nigeriacoin very good. Thank you, thank you for condoms but need more. Each one only use twice.

Wallet binaries released. Passwords for the zips as well as Github source to be pushed at launch.
Also, many new pools updated. P2pool has some quirks, but MPOS stratum mining and solomining will work.

Skeincoins (SKC) are mined with CPUs and GPUs, although GPUs are much more efficient. This uses the same hashing algorithm, so it is also mined with CPUs and GPUs...

This is normal for a non-scrypt coin - blocks are coming at the correct spacing.

The latest Bitcoin Core 0.9.0 based coins is different from all the prior versions in how you compile it. ./autogen.sh Good luck. I think NGC is the first altcoin on this new branch.

Difficulty is 1,000.11 on Block 58.
Can an Coin Engineer take a look and make sure everything is running right?
Indeed. Either I am really lucky today, or something is wrong. I just found the 65. block. That's 11/67 with ~900Mh/s. I don't think it's normal. It's either luck or forked blockchains! Last time I found too much blocks, the coin died because practically everybody was on it's own chain...

Please can you both come to #nigeriacoin on freenode ( https://webchat.freenode.net/) and we'll take a look, but I've checked everything and hashrates definitely look to be reporting correct, albeit nethash isn't showing correctly and we're working on that now.

The fist block I found has 62 confirmations.

For pool ops that aren't up and running yet. I see a few of you with the MPOS front ends installed with the wallets linked. Please make sure you install the Skein stratum. You can find a copy here: https://github.com/nigeriacoin/stratum-miningThe crunch harder guys were able to get it installed so we know it works.

This here is legit. You think Skein and CDS just comes without know how?

giving up on crunch-hard, any coins for sale here?
I don't believe there are any. Here's the Block Explorer compiled from the source in the OP. http://ngc.exploreblocks.com:2764/chain/NigeriacoinJust a huge block 0 and nothing afterwards. Crunch Harder apparently put up a mock website to 'teach miners a lesson.' Look at his home page where he posted as a 'Nigerian Prince.' He also posted up pictures of a big block of feces in this thread and attempted to sell coins he knows won't work. I'm surprised miners aren't a bit more upset. Generally I get complaints from people if their email verification takes 30 seconds instead of 15. Glad to see miners are becoming a forgiving group that enjoy losing money and being made fun of.

I spoke to the devs, the block explorer is broken - the BC is growing normally without forks. Crunchharder is running on the right chain and paying out. So no lesson to be learnt here aside from: a) Regain your sense of humour - the 1.7Bn coins for sale was clearly a joke b) It is the very first alt forked from 0.9 and it had a far better launch than 99% of any of the recent coin launches so as amusing as the premise may be it has far better promise than anything recent! c)I just downloaded a local wallet and sync'd the blockchain and it shows the same number of blocks as crunchharder.

There's only one pool 'functioning' and the guy made his page into a 'Nigerian Scam' parody. WTF is he supporting the coin for if he thinks it's a scam? Seriously, I like 'humor' as much as the next guy, but not when 35GHZ of mining power is very likely being wasted and the Linux source is screwed up. Additional Info:I compiled the Linux source from here: https://github.com/nigeriacoin./autogen.sh ./configure make I created an alternative Block Explorer: http://ngc.exploreblocks.com:2764/chain/NigeriacoinNow both Block Explorers are 'broke.'

If you're using the source from Github you're wasting your time. It will compile okay, but both Block Explorers compiled from the source show this: http://ngc.exploreblocks.com:2764/chain/NigeriacoinThat shows the pre-mine of 44,000,028,000 NGC. Worse, you won't get a straight answer from anyone in this thread.

The premine of 3% dev and 47% for CDS which is going to be destroyed systematically is listed in the OP. Yes, it seems there's some issue with bitcoin-abe working with this latest version of 0.9.0 Bitcoin Core fork. The transactions and blocks are all being pulled into the database but the Python frontend seems to only display the first block. We are looking into the issue. The rest of the sources work, not sure where you're getting stuck?

Imagine all those mining pool operators who keep getting wrong code on launch. They spend HOURS setting up their pools and then they're forced to look bad when things go wrong. Plus the poor miners who waste time and hash and don't get coins! It makes everyone look bad.

I haven't found any alternative "forks" for this coin, it was a clean launch. For the explorers, I know you see only the first block in the front end, but as mentioned before the database is picking up the transactions and new blocks. When I use MySQL Workbench to view the tables, I can see everything. We need someone to help figure out the display bug. http://imgur.com/nr7mAGI

Nope, this wasn't a clean launch. Crunch Harder had a working copy of the source code. Other pools did not. Your own Block Explorer didn't work and neither did an alternate one created from the Github source. You changed the code six hours ago and now claim it works. Good luck with your coin. P.S. OP if you're really from Nigeria you should at least be mildly upset by Crunch Harder's home page. He's representing your coin - which supposedly represents the nation of Nigeria. Why would you want your coin associated with the racist 'scammer' stereotype that prevails for your nation? This thread just serves as another glaring reminder that the 'Open Source' tenets that made crypto-currency great are routinely being ignored by the people involved in launches. I'll get off my soapbox now, because I'm no 'crusader' but hopefully aspiring devs will see this thread and realize the need to communicate much better with a community that is here to support your efforts.

Yes we will need to fix the explorer, get on an exchange, but the CDS premine is being destroyed to counter PoW mining inflation so that's not being given away like AuroraCoin. This is a different concept. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

After sleeping on it, I really like the Proof of BURN concept. It has many advantages.
It has great PR/Marketcap for better exposure, It actually cancels inflation typically caused by PoW mining. The miners actually benefit here. Do the math, With a 'pool' of coins being destroyed on a timer, it actually means that the longer you mine the larger proportion of the currency you can attain vs normal PoW. Also, if you mine for shorter period of time say 1 Week, your 'time investment' in this coin is better protected due to the 50% burn on the other end. No miners will ever have those coins, Effectively making your coins more rare against the marketcap.

It's a simple question. The source code listed in the OP and on Github does not work.
My friend I sell you "my first autogen build" book, you send Western Union money transfer, I send information - very good, comes with free set of crayons and padded hat.

Crunch Harder had access to the source before everyone else. I came to #nigeriacoin on IRC and asked for the source 15 mins before launch: <@nigeriacoin> hello <Namun> source ? <@nigeriacoin> to be released on github at launch AND <Namun> nigeriacoin one question <Namun> how come crunchharder is mining before the source was even released ? <Aleks_N> the source is available <Aleks_N> the pool was mining on testnet before So there wasn't any fuckin clean launch as you're trying to suggest. Ok, please stop spreading FUD. All the sources were the same, please check the commits for what was actually changed. Both TalesfromtheScrypt and Crunch Harder were working at launch, it's just Crunch Harder was listed first on our OP so they got all the traffic. I've moved them down the list now. I'm not upset by the pictures posted on Crunch Harder or on Tales of the Scrypt pools. They are meant to be sarcastic. Sorry you had difficulty installing the code. Under 0.9.0 Bitcoin Core, things work differently than usual. All the latest and greatest features are in this coin and I wouldn't be surprised if other altcoins actually fork NigeriaCoin code. majorminers is right. I closed the ngc.hashing.at pool so you can remove it from the list ... not gonna support this realshitcoin. Thanks for the support. As you're probably noticing, these bad practices at launch are happening more often and they're hurting everyone. They make us all look bad and we have to waste time/money supporting coins with no true support from the 'developers.'

When a Sr.Member says this, I will hold this coin, sould be easy: if coins are burned= rest is more value, not sure I understand why this additive is needed - less coins from start would be the same result, but my tech understand is not high.

Any progress on getting this coin on an exchange? Miners won't mine it forever for the sake of it if there are no good/services/exchanges.
I think it could have promise. The features I see are:
-Skein mining algorithm is different than most coins and is cooler for GPU's; also no ASICS
-"Burning coins" is novel - I also am not sure what the difference is from doing this vs. slower coin production, but it is a different strategy
-Uses latest Bitcoin wallet as its base
-Nigeria meme - either as a "cult" coin with sarcastic/humorous take on it (scam emails) or as charity or technology development for the country

We are working hard on getting some exchanges. We don't have any BTCs to contribute to get onto a "bounty" exchange so we are messaging exchange admins directly. Also, our Proof of Burn - Coin Distribution Symmetry address has been generated. The first burns have gone through. We are putting a script to burn the CDS premine automatically. http://explorer.nigeriacoin.org/address/NigeriaDestroyCurrencyHAhaHAmoSNy2The burning coins vs slower coin production is amazing in concept. we can reduce coin inflation to zero or even make it negative! you cannot do that with coin production as inflation by definition is always going to be 0+. Also, the other BIG benefit is the way coinmarketcap calculates market values. It does it on the entirety of coins outstanding, which includes the premine. Yes, I know this is a troll concept, but it's meant to be fun and it's actually a test bed for new tech that we will be rolling out into other major altcoins. We plan to support this as well as distribution into Nigeria either by marketing, direct distribution, or the more likely route is donating to Nigerian non-profits and focusing the foundation on that goal.

Hello, interesting coin you have here I'm offering the NigeriaCoin community the pool http://ngc.plasr.com -- it's with stratum on port 3000, PPLNS, Vardiff I'm running two other skein-based coin pools there, for Skeincoin and for Xedoscoin, so I'll be keeping an eye on NGC pool. It's not like the next scrypt-based pool. The server is monitored and always up. Happy mining!

What's up with the pools? They seem to be buggy since last night and not updating information properly. What ones are working well for others?
I predict this coin is going to take off in the next couple days for the reasons I said in my last post and because it will probably be listed on C-CEX within the next 24 hours (it is voting rank #1 by quite a bit).
So devs keep the publicity momentum going...

If this coin is based on the way things work in Nigeria, shouldn't there be a 85% pre-mine that the government keeps? Ans a 25% transaction "tax"?

Ha! Something like that! I believe (from the looks of it) the major motivation behind this coin was to try out some new technology (newest, protocol, Proof of Burn with auto-coin destroy etc) And that the fiscal issues faced by Nigeria serve as a great backdrop as they are suffering from corruption and a severe lack of confidence in the Naira. Every coin has its flaws for sure but I think NGC is trying to make a point and contrast itself against a modern fiat currency on the ropes of a strong nation.

do you have problens with ngc.plasr.com? what do you mean "buggy"? Well CrunchHarder was not showing my hash rate, blocks, or credits, and Tales from the Scrypt was totally down. The manager of Tales told me they were DDOS attacked and fixed it. Haven't tried ngc.plasr.com yet. There were no people on it last time I checked and I am a small time miner (single 280X) so I won't get any coins if I'm the only one.

I've mined on crunchharder, talesfromthescrypt until it got taken down by DDoS, and poolerino. I have 2 290s and get really nice payouts still, so you should still get some payouts on an 280x. There's probably going to be 1-3 exchanges coming up in the next few days to a week! I think when people realize how nice the Skein algo is for mining, they will also come over to the coin.

Intensity 10 seems to be the trick. Memory speeds don't seem to matter with Skein. Also, good news! We won the C-CEX vote! Prepare for NGC -> Western Union remittances and NGC/BTC trading!!

Is C-CEX having trouble adding the NGC coin for some reason? It doesn't seem to have been added despite winning their vote.
I think we need to get this coin on some respected exchanges to draw some additional mining interest to the coin - network hash rate seems to be decreasing (3185662818 now).
I would think with the increased prevalence of Scrypt ASICS that miners would be looking into alternative hashes, and I think NGC has a lot of advantages as a coin.

Well that escalated quickly. The network Hash rate (3.2 GH/s) and difficulty (was 400+) jumped up quite a bit when the C-Cex exchange was announced. We should probably be pushing for more exchanges. Im thinking mintpal. Anyone else willing to spend a tiny fraction of btc to get NGC up the list?

If the exchange isn't large enough to support the amount of incoming NGC then I think another medium sized one may help out quite a bit. The larger problem I see isn't really the amount of exchanges but rather the lack of attention to this coin. Honestly I think some activity on the reddit page and a plan for the Nigerian part of the coin would help even more. The proof of burn concept is awesome and I believe in it but there needs to be more. Just like any great idea if no one knows about it then it just stays as an idea. Either way I have asked mintpal to list NGC on their votes and it is on there now. So if anyone does agree that mintpal would help promote the coin please help me get it up the list.

I have been solo mining from the beginning. Sometimes the pools pick up but then they go back to zero miners again. My guess is because the difficulty drops back down and its easy to hit blocks by yourself. With your 280X I'm sure you will hit blocks probably about 3-5 per hour at the current difficulty. My guess on your MH/s would be around 180-200. When you use the skein miner make sure you keep your intensity down to about 10-11 going higher won't increase your MH/s and it just slows down your computer. Hope that helps.

There is something wrong -- maybe with the explorer in the OP -- the last block in the explorer is 7083 from April 9 and today is 13th and my local daemon shows block #9622 I mean this explorer: http://explorer.nigeriacoin.org/chain/NigeriaCoinIs there a problem in the chain now? I refreshed mine and I am again on 9622 (with new blocks appearing). Is there a fork???

As far as I understand it, the proof of burn (destroying some of the pre-mined coins) negates a bit the bad effects of the premine. The dev said the premine was 47% which is a lot, so destroying even some of these coins as time passes is better than leaving them. OTOH having a large pre-mine and then leaving the coin may lead us to think that there was a dump -- I didn't bother to check and investigate this in the coin chain and I hope the dev is still around and will be supporting the coin. But I'm just a user, not the dev, so maybe the dev should address these questions about proof of burn.

What I wonder is how much of the pre-mine will be burned. The dev said he is putting an automated script to do the burning, but looking here -- http://explorer.nigeriacoin.org/address/NigeriaDestroyCurrencyHAhaHAmoSNy2 -- I see the process ends on April 8th and the total burned coins is around 3 billions NGC. And the pre-mine is around 44 billions (almost half of the 88 billions total mineable coins). So will the other premined coins be burned in batches one after the other in the future? And when, how long will it take, what is the algorythum of this burn?

Looks like the daemon on the block explorer is offline, but here are the transaction hashes for all burns since the date you mentioned: b16f58deee1c4d9ceb294a679d14d73462d112664311336a6bb8df6788097d8a ee3aa8ecbf964f8e571ddd68fcc57e765e2710bbc63678b5e81830ac56725420 2eadeaeafe7c2091f38ca32e43338c630761ff0d5eb07af7b570b2ad4658ddab e959f90acda6879374bbe6c0a7f92028b502e45a8d5b40e58040e7a9f22ba1ac 167a21d41b559d7d7ff7652c44fa5074915839ff319cdaa49e33179805e5339c 82765dbd25374c110be7d91a433bd7ebf5d62820e4f0b7f6d67a684010f70b68 6c04ed9143e6f25f1186b8673b7466268c7fe8fa9ed2db85c76fb9a7b86c5fc1 1aab0a6ab6a6446ce37520f40300528b30d6592959b323ed5fc11de27cd87dd0 840bf4e48914147f9d7b87daaddd7da4c302c3b1fc42e4c956598cacc2ce8648 e9cbdfe8804742683c16477830f72b9eab6be3750e975e2f0df212fa71b1cb45 9b48b5aed40c379b84ebaad328d8858c188af5ea447c95c33570a75546537e5e 762d6d542bd686484b8131fe52cf542bad9240d56859fc7ab6b3af15d2156051 743f8e8a168d305e4eca27016f63e3517976830ea169a39fd174fd44d78c4918 34543441dc8b731bef8de16d224a83e80b7b8c441150721783e15f4ad0382373 5d5d69697891da2366717fd0320d86caa09db3de434444b8ecb8c925af9669b2 3b701ab6fbfe9cec117de05c4129fe36540f322704b91feaffc007d03a76c297 0cfbee4d25790b61e56fdddab0b1877ff343ba4717dc5c1d7560f23dfb0f547c 29048fc696d861f3de97eed3c3ed734cbc8eec76a932b31ba0eceb90b01be678 5eb339a2056ac2671edba2ec8c313c7fda7e3775418fec829943d7f8e1b725b6 9b14a387ff47f5b5b70b89585686fdb71dcc96bbe646c5e560c83b009c02d090 b46501c00d607fc4316e2fd0abfb9ba6f8ecd063917cc0655f1acfad05d03a29
You can look at them by opening the debug console and running getrawtransaction TXHASH_HERE 1
Note the 1 on the end or you'll just get the raw hex representation If anyone wants to set up a block explorer you need to first install our skein python module from https://github.com/nigeriacoin/p2pool/tree/master/skeinhash and then add the below entries to your Abe/Chain.py replace the create function defininition at the beginning of the file with this def create(policy, **kwargs): # XXX It's about time to interpret policy as a module name. if policy in [None, "Bitcoin"]: return Bitcoin(**kwargs) if policy == "Testnet": return Testnet(**kwargs) if policy == "Namecoin": return Namecoin(**kwargs) if policy == "LegacyNoBit8": return Sha256Chain(**kwargs) if policy == "NovaCoin": return NovaCoin(**kwargs) if policy == "CryptoCash": return CryptoCash(**kwargs) if policy == "Hirocoin": return Hirocoin(**kwargs) if policy == "X11": return X11Chain(**kwargs) if policy == "Bitleu": return Bitleu(**kwargs) if policy == "Keccak": return KeccakChain(**kwargs) if policy == "Maxcoin": return Maxcoin(**kwargs) if policy == "NigeriaCoin": return NigeriaCoin(**kwargs) return Sha256NmcAuxPowChain(**kwargs)
Then add class SkeinChain(Chain): def block_header_hash(chain, header): import skeinhash return skeinhash.getPoWHash(header)
class NigeriaCoin(SkeinChain): def __init__(chain, **kwargs): chain.name = 'NigeriaCoin' chain.code3 = 'NGC' chain.address_version = '\x35' chain.magic = '\x2f\x23\x2c\x25' Chain.__init__(chain, **kwargs)
datadir_conf_file_name = "nigeriacoin.conf" datadir_rpcport = 3556
And add "policy": "NigeriaCoin" to your datastore entry in your config file (to make sure abe uses the right chain policy), e.g. datadir = [{ "dirname": "/home/ubuntu/.nigeriacoin", "chain": "NigeriaCoin", "policy": "NigeriaCoin", "code3": "NGC", "address_version": "\u0035"}]

This uses the same hashing algorithm, so it is also mined with CPUs and GPUs...

Everybody that has some NGC can help bring the coin to an exchange by voting on Comkort -- https://comkort.com/vote (1 vote per day) After the coin was removed from C-Cex, there is no trading place and it's obvious some of you guys here have lots of NGC and also mining is very easy now, so it will be nice if we can all together bring this coin back to life. Nevermind the name and the lack of activity recently, it still is a nice coin with skein. https://comkort.com/vote for NGC

lol, serious? Any coin named after or for a nation or physical place is.. well.. I was going to say "doomed" but the truth is that it is misnamed. Anybody can use "aurora", or "nigeria coin", or "Mazacoin", from any place or with or without any nazi (fascist) "identity" papers. That being said, YES, public coins will help all economies that learn to use them.

Can anyone think of a credible reason that Nigerians would need crypto or embrace it as a credible means of payment instead of the naira?
