cheaper smaller miners, spread the love! spread the network!  Grin

Exactly! Currently it's 5k USD for a 192 chip machine, which comes down to around 26 USD per chip. So maybe a 16 chip/120Gh/s device? This would be around 16*26= 416USD at current price rate.

[edit]
Or of course a device with a single chip from the SP30! It's 29 chips I guess (29chps * 187GH/s per chip = 5423Gh/s). So 12k USD/29= 414USD for a 187Gh/s device Smiley

just buy an s1

An S1 is noisy, produces a lot of heat, and is very power inefficient compared to these miners. Since I pay around $0.3/KWH power consumption is important to me. Also, there is something called 'the girlfriend factor'. I'm just getting way less complaints about the miners which are in a nice case (and I guess I'm not the only one).

You've heard about how loud these units are right? They certainly wont pass the girlfriend test unless she is deaf.

Yes, I've heard. But rack equipment is noisy most of the time. I'm talking about a small scale desk miner, in which I would expect a different kind of fan than in the rack equipment.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Its not gonna be priced reasonable due to the cost of making small board + handling inventory.

Your best bet is get S1 and change to better fans. I dont see why it has to be noisy, i would reduce the volume (enclose it) thus increase the air going thro the heat sink.

I like your product, but I don't like the fact that I have to wait until May for delivery if I order now. Six weeks is a long time in bitcoinland, and there is a good chance that better opportunities will be available between now and then. In the future, I hope you can cut your backlog and offer more immediate shipment of your products.

love the tech, but prices need to come down, otherwise makes more sense to just buy btc.

Yeah, it is pretty darn loud, even in silent mode Smiley

It produces more noise in silent mode than my hashfast, knc, avalon and bfl miners.

You mean all of them ...together ...? ... Smiley ...or separate...?

going by the look of the server fans; not comparable to other mining rigs, but more comparable to a jet engine taking off?

We are very excited to announce that the first units are going through the burn-in test and will be shipped out tomorrow.

The owners of these machines will be notified as soon as the units are out the door.

We realize this is one day later than the original announcement date but we believe our customers will be very happy with these machines.

Any news on the first batch?

First shipment is on it's way to the early birds!

(One of the pallets being loaded to the DHL track).

We will send the tracking numbers to buyers once we ensured that the units have cleared Israel customs and security, and loaded to planes ready for liftoff.

Hi.
My name is Zvi, I am responsible for Spondoolies SW stack. I am glad to announce that we are opening today all our SW repositories.

The cgminer repository is open from the start, we will soon push our driver upstream:
https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech/cgminer

There are 3 additional repositories I am opening now:
Linux:
https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech/kernel
U-boot:
https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech/u-boot
MinerGate (controls ASICs):
https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech/miner_gate

Minepeon will be opened by SyRenity very soon.

This is a good opportunity to promote our technical blog where we announce new SW releases:

Great!

Following the source-code release we did yesterday to the community, we are looking to see a community version of a SP10-compatible full-OS MinePeon stack soon! Smiley
