5,4 TH August 2014 drama starting,
November production ending,
December shipment
and January delivery.

People will start eating their shorts again.

Better paying more and having the gear in hand.

LOL
Won't happen.

Edit: Seriously. We know what we're doing. We've implemented much more complex ASICs and systems.

Taping out in the beginning of May. ASICs arrives in July.

This is the only thing I need to know. You are in the same position as HashFast, BFL, KNC and CoinTerra were. Everything is roses right now, orders are being placed and paid by sheeple. Something is going to happen in the all-to-short timeline you've created and you are going to be delayed. All of your pre-order customers who expected 5Th unicorns in August will get them months later.

You may be the only exception that delivers on time, but you are still turning your customers into investors of something that today, does not exist.

Look at cointerra... They have the muts nuts of engineers / crypto / etc and were still late and unable to meet their specs.

Quoted for posterity.

This is a bit stupid, I think every party understand each other but there is still market for preorders and spondoolies is using them, that does not mean that maybe in the future they will have stock in their warehouses and will sell stocked items or build on demand, but right now they have managed to sell their products until August.

Preselling SP30 is a risk for customers, but also Spondoolies has said several times that they will comply with the dates, I hope so, otherwise you will face class actions as other mining hardware companies are facing now.

SP surely understand the people that doesn't want to preorder but as long as they can sell all their preorders there is no reason for not doing so.

point in case: bitmain have shipped their new 1TH rig, and it’s a pile of shit, this community have had to develop stable firmware and reassemble around 70% of the boxes which were delivered. Also, I would be very cautious personally , if I were a bitmain customer - noises about 12th April and China’s intentions regarding bitcoin are a little frightening, what happens when the communist guard decide to kick in the doors of every bitcoin h/w provider and demand closure. It is a very volatile market; where Chinese manufacturers are bringing high income to the country, but at the same time devaluing the national currency.
Any government who are in fear of losing their national treasure, will stop at no end to ensure they stabilise their currency.

buy from bitmain? yes, but make sure you get your rig shipped before 12th April.

it is evident that we have all been stung by the pre-order market, but I see it petty and vindictive to take it out on a new company who are trying their best to simply spread the hashpower by offering the best in the market, to date.

The flames on this thread are irrational, but demands for customised payment terms are viable, for bulk orders.

to summise - people; you keep mentioning other hardware manufacturers and prodding sp with a pointy stick.
Please can you take those conversations to the relevant threads.

thanks.

Without getting into names, knowing the true story of what have happened with the two companies with very similar unreasonable design, I'm smiling sad smile now.
Seriously: You should have done a thorough technical due-diligence before pre-ordering from them. I'm sorry for your lost funds.

TSMC can deliver 5-8week tapeout to chip ship assuming a hot/superhot, and nobody huge steals their place in line.  It sounds like they've built in no buffer for unexpected events, but the timeline doesn't seem out of place.

PRE-ORDER model that funds development ...
RockerBox ASIC (our 2nd gen ASIC inside SP30) development wasn't funded from pre-orders.

Sorry, I was speaking in general, not a specific reference to one of your products. Funding is critical of course, but even the best capitalized technology companies in the world, the big guys, are notoriously late to market for pre-announced products. Delivery dates should always be taken with a grain of salt. I wish you much success. Cheers.

Thank you. We took enough buffers to make sure the delivery will be on time. We took very small numbers of orders for July to make sure we'll be able to fulfill all.

WTF? All YOU have been doing lately is going around into other hardware threads and spamming Spondoolies-Tech.

Hashfast Thread:
for those of us who have cash tied up in preorders, including hashfast, spondoolies-tech are offering 10% discount.
i've ordered a small rig from them and just needed to send them proof of my refund request.
my babyjet should have been hashing by now, just glad to have another option to allow me to keep mining.

Blackarrow Thread:
guys, our x3's aren't gonna be worth 0.01btc per week...
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/3-x-sp30-yukon-august-batch

just saying.  Lips sealed

KnC Thread:
forget KnC hardware and forget the datorhall... WTF?...
YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OWN FARM
astounding... to think, if enough people buy into this, hashrate is gonna spread. collectively we could put that knc d/c in the lower echelons of mining farms.
i'm off to the bank, it's my duty.

The ONLY reason I see to take pre-orders is because you don't have the funds to order parts in mass quantity.

If I am mistaken then I would like to hear the reasons to have pre-orders at all.

I disagree, another reason to take pre-orders is because you (as the manufacturer) want to soak top dollar out of the uninformed.

Look at their pricing.  Getting a +ROI on the SP10 is a long shot, and they want how much for a SP30?  Does anyone here really think that the SP30 is going to be worth those prices when they (allegedly) ship in August?  Likely not, so you charge top dollar now, when the current state of affairs makes it a marginally good idea, not later when it's absolutely obviously a shitty deal for the customer.

You'd have to be partially brain dead to pre-order anything with a August delivery date right now. History shows that most buyers who pre-order end up with a bad deal and lose out in the long run.

Five months is an eternity in Bitcoin mining terms, and I almost guarantee that a better deal for in stock hardware from another manufacturer will be available before Spondoolies ships a single August unit.

Sorry Spondoolies, I love your product, but hate the pre-order model because it transfers all risk from the seller to the buyer.

Good find Smiley It was obvious that the drop in exchange rate will make some people mad and also the big increases in difficulty makes more people mad.

If Spondoolies delivers in July/August they will be by far the best company until now and i have a feeling that they will.(i also think that KnC will deliver, we will see when)

We will. Little info on how we're working:
We're implementing Intel's Tick Tock model (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Tick-Tock) with 4 months cycle.
Our 2nd gen is a relative simple project, since it's a die shrink (40nm -> 28nm) of our 1st gen engine.
The SP30 system design uses very similar design techniques as our SP10. Nothing fancy. Nothing extreme.
The risk of complications is minimal.

Our 3rd gen is a complete new architecture with higher risk. We won't take pre-orders for our 3rd gen systems.

You should really do your homework before running your mouth in such a fashion.  You're about as bad with that "news" as the people are about miners in the speculation forum.
