Will Ethereum be taking 1st place in 2020?

For this year I don't expect ethereum will taking the place of the bitcoin but after few years I believe on that

Being 1st is not easy to reach but ethereum will have high chance but it takes time not this year because bitcoin is remain higher value so it still number 1.

Do you think ETH will ride and benefit alongside BTC again as it did during the bull run of the end of 2017/start of 2018 ATH levels, or maybe even more after the halving? What are your thoughts on this?

maybe until now it hasn't been thought that ethereum could replace bitcoin to be number 1. although you say that there have been many improvements from the ethereum platform and have been better, so investors and users have become more comfortable.

The number one position was gradually too far from ethereum, although in the previous years, ethereum seemed to have tried to close the gap but until the end, the king was unable to be challenged, ethereum can still stand still in the number two position in this market, regardless of changes and updates, value and popularity are no longer so high. No doubt about that bitcoins was only a real king in crypto so etherium has no chance to surpass bitcoin. And yes etherium and ripple are always compete each other to take the second spot but etherium are always take on it. And its my first to see ripple surpass etherium in a past year I think to seat in a second spot but its now to long being a number two it back again into a 3rd spot.

Well, so far, I only expect the development of ethereum prices to be the same as in 2017/2018. however, ethereum will not reach the first level of the crypto world before defeating bitcoin. in fact, so far, ethereum has not developed much when the price of bitcoin has grown. I think he was thinking about the possibility for ethereum to repeat the old history again when the bitcoin dominance was getting eaten by altcoin and ethereum has ever taken the first place. The possibility will always there but as you said if we see the current situation and it looks an impossible thing to happen for sure

I think its not possible to happen since ETH is in the good shape right now. Improving their platform and gain so much trust to the people but its way too long before it will happen. real evidence when this happens, that ethereum continues to follow in the footsteps of bitcoin. well, if I argue, then ethereum cheers have a huge potential in becoming crypto number 1, so when the price of bitcoin decreases, the price needs to hold on or go up. however, to date, the movement of ethereum, even almost all crypto, follows bitcoin. bitcoin prices are currently down, and that is causing altcoin prices to drop, specifically ethereum.

ETH is really one of the best coins and has more potential to be on the first place. But it doesn't mean there can be any altcoins, which can overtake BTC. It is just impossible to happen that. But if we are talking about ETH will be able to take 1st place in 2020. In my humble estimation, ETH will be number 1 among other altcoins.
The competition is big for second place and ETH Proof of Stake is the barrier to ETH's way to keep remain on that ladder step. The ADA and NEO have the potential ROI as ETH but I doubt the mentioned altcoins will overtake ETH in the long run.

Ethereum basically cannot surpass Bitcoin because Bitcoin has a very important role in this market and will never succumb to any altcoins available in this market. However, anything can happen if Ethereum proves valuable because this market always has enough time to do so. Of course it will take a lot of things, but the possibility of Ethereum becoming number one is very low.
