It could always be the first on the alt-coin list but it could never replace the Bitcoin from being first on Crypto currencies,
I don't really think that there would be a crypto that could really take over Bitcoin right now.
Bitcoin would always be the top crypto currency for a long time .

Definitely no,  it is even struggling to stay at number 2 spot and now we are thinking of taking the spot of Bitcoin, that's seems absurd.
Bitcoin will definitely remain as the number 1 coin in the market in 2020, no doubt about that, I bet you that what you are thinking would never happen.

No it could never replace Bitcoin and no matter how much it progress in this year it could never come up close to Bitcoin so how could it even take the spot?
Bitcoin has always been the 1st,Top of all and King of crypto's so I don't think there would be a chance that it could be the 1st.
For me Bitcoin would always be on top of all crypto no matter how long it would go.

thinking that halving will happen this year, it is indeed very difficult to believe. although the development of ethereum is also not inferior to bitcoin, but I quite believe that most people out there are waiting for halving and preparing their bitcoin. however, I don't think that ethereum can occupy the first position in the cryptocurrency world.

We already many thread like that in every forum and have the same answer, " no and never ". That's our final opinion and will survive until 10 - 20 years, the opportunity too small. This moment we see many people release their analysis but ignore reality. I never deny bitcoin will replacement but I'm sure need more time and powerful competitor from out side, such us currency, so stay  calm and be patient to keep wait.

If we'll take a look at Ethereum's history, we could see that it couldn't surpass Bitcoin no matter how it pump. It still has to go through a lot before it beat BTC as the top coin. However, Ethereum has been consistent and is one of the coins with a huge potential. It has been second on the list and it will always be on top 10.

Ethereum can't be the first and even if the Proof of Stake get completed it still can't surpass Bitcoin, it would have been better if Ethereum have limited supply like 21million to 100million, I bet the value would be better than what it is today

I would not like that to happen and I don't think it will happen as investors would never allow that.
Those whales who are enjoying the market now with their big holdings of bitcoin will not think of investing on something that is run by a team.
What made bitcoin special now is because it has become's people store of value for their money, they can't do that with ETH as ETH relies on its development while bitcoin does not.

I have read many times this kind of question about Ethereum if this will taking first in crypto. Through this year it cannot surpass bitcoin. Bitcoin has been the top amongst other coin, though ethereum shows good performance and still exist in the market. So ethereum still as is on it's position in the market.

The supply is not be a problem since he can only surpass bitcoin in overall marketcap not in the supply .
Its really hard for ethereum to do this there are many speculation, before the bull market happen that this can be the top 1 . But it never happen that time and it will never hapoen now because of many bad side's that we see in ethereum platform.
They manage to have thier own demand and advantage but that's not enough.

huh ? im always active on here but i rarely see a question simillar to this  . people also knew that its unlikely possible for eth to take over other top coins because of its characteristics that is still lacks of something .

Through this year it cannot surpass bitcoin. Bitcoin has been the top amongst other coin, though ethereum shows good performance and still exist in the market. So ethereum still as is on it's position in the market.
eth can maintain its position on the market but there are times that it can get dethrone of other coins that are doing good . and yeah eth shows a good performance this year compare to bitcoin because its value finally recovered and didnt go down yet  while btc is still verry unstable  . however this isnt enough for both coins to change sides because btc still got alot of demand and its price is still higher compared to eth .

Ethereum has been steadily on the rise for a good while now, and this first half of Q1 2020 has proven that they have brought that same energy into the new decade. They have started 2020 with a bang, more than doubling in value in just 2 months.

There are quite a few factors that have come into play to make this a winning year for Ethereum and here are just a few: https://thecoinshark.net/en/5-reasons-why-ethereum-is-winning-in-2020/amp/

What do you think we can expect to see for the rest of the year?

It goes like this, Ethereum is a good platform but to replace Bitcoin as number 1 can never happen. Ethereum needs more development, it needs to constantly make people attractive to it as it is not the only altcoin out there and this can only be done if there is efficiency. Ethereum needs to be more scalable so as to continually maintain its competitive advantage as the market is getting highly competitive. Bitcoin on the other hand gave the crypto space a lot of exposure which makes almost all users to hold it thus being a very valuable coin which can't be replaced from its position. Nevertheless, Ethereum started on a good note this year and with the right touch will continue in like manner.

It will remain number two on bitcoin but it is not safe at that rank since there's a lot of competition on the altcoins market.
We remember in the past that ETH was replace by XRP and then it was able to take it back, but we have BNB and other major altcoins that is a threat for ETH but all of them combine is never gonna be a threat for bitcoin.

it is not realistic in 2020 for ETH to reach number 1, and even in next few years, but this year should be great for ETH, nevertheless
there is a lot of reasons for ETH to rise, since there is a lot of development ongoing, and not just transition to ETH2.0 and ETH now and two years ago is not the same network and blockchain, it is a way better

They are already 1st place among the altcoins but 1st place in the market I don't think so, not at this point in time, Bitcoin is having a great time this is their halving year I don't think any coin can beat Bitcoin on it's halving year, and besides Bitcoin dominance is something any coin including Ethereum to address.

I don't feel euphoric about such statements. The fact that the price of Ethereum has recently doubled should be considered against the background of the growth of bitcoin. And over the past month, all the top altcoins have increased in price by 100%.

I think it's hard to believe for ethereum to go on top or 1st place in the crypto market since no coin yet can overcome bitcoin. However, it is a good start for ethereum this early months in 2020, hoping for it to continue.

First place over Bitcoin? That's a dream that will never come to past, Bitcoin will always be the most favored coin because of few reasons, no matter how bullish Ethereum can be it's never going past bitcoin

I have always been a fan of ethereum. i exchange other currencies with eth and believe ethereum remains the one true smart contract platform far more better than the rest. been the second most successive crypto in the coinmarketcap makes it amazing. i believe the future of smart contract lays on ethereum.  with the high rate of crypo making good moves recently, i am seeing the eth scaling pass 300usd price.
