Ethereum basically cannot surpass Bitcoin because Bitcoin has a very important role in this market and will never succumb to any altcoins available in this market.

Definitely, so let us stop thinking that ETH will surpass bitcoin one day because this is unlike to happen.

However, anything can happen if Ethereum proves valuable because this market always has enough time to do so. Of course it will take a lot of things, but the possibility of Ethereum becoming number one is very low.

If ETH will get the number 1 spot and bitcoin will dump, this market will dump as well. .I don't know I can't imagine if that will happen, maybe that would already result to the end of the crypto space.

Seriously everyone,,, the Flippening was a topic for 2017 discussion. It never happened then and it will never happen any more. If Bitcoin dies, Eth dies faster, so it is totally useless to think about things in that fashion. Fomo will push all crypto if it happens, but everything relies on BTC.

it is an easy math, since the inflation for BTC is now low (below 2% yearly) and ETH is also low, but above this limit, it relative between number of BTC and ETH in circulation will not change significantly in next two three years, and it is needed for ETH to be more than 1/6 of BTC price, for ETH to overtake number 1 spot, i cannot see that this year, or next year, but it could happen in this decade if both project continue with same development speed

at the beginning 1 BTC was 2000 ETH, today 1 BTC equals more less 50 ETH, and was around 10 ETH at one moment, on large scale this could be seen as dip after first wave, and second wave could bring ETH marketcap above BTC marketcap if development of ETH2.0 goes well, but one has to do their own research before investment

As you above mentioned there is only one top established coin and it is  BTC. If we are talking about ETH to take 1st place in 2020, that means ETH will overcome BTC, but as you said never. But we can say ETH can be first among other altcoins, but not more than. Expecting more than its potential is the illusion and believing in the illusions is the mind games.

The cryptocurrency market is one price often going up and down without any clear reason as to why. I think the most important things to consider are real-world events. The last few weeks gave me new hope that the Ethereum will return a better position. I mean, the price of Ethereum will touch at least around 600$. But we can't imagine that any day Ethereum will remove Bitcoin from the number one position. Maybe Bitcoin can go further down in the coming days but, Ethereum will never be able to replace Bitcoin from its current position. I won't believe it will take the 1st position.
