I think it’s hard to say that everything will return to normal, although this is a very likely outcome.

The best would be to put all the athletes with their families and teams into one isolated city where no one is allowed to enter or leave. Then there would be no risk of corona virus getting in or out. Also the players wouldn't need to travel and fly anymore as everyone is in one place already. You would only need playing fields as there won't be any visitors except the camera crews. Every new person wanting to come into that city would need to be on a 2 week quarantine to ensure safety.

From a logistics perspective this could be the best, but in practice this is impossible, athletes and their families are just humans, I can assure you that many of their families will simply refuse to move to another place, after all it is known that being OK with the location of the team is a big factor that plays on the negotiations of contracts, to give an example of this just this year on the NFL Tom Brady one of the biggest stars of the sport decided to sign with Tampa Bay and not with Los Angeles Charges and one of the main reasons was because one team was on the East Coast while the other was on the West Coast.

Well, the rumor of the second wave is a really scary thing because even me, I don't want to risk my life in watching sports events which are highly prone that perhaps will be infected with this virus. I don't how the new normal protocol will manage that to make it sure the safety measures those on people on the stadium are safe, --even they implemented strict protocols to ensure that stadiums are as safe as possible for everybody present but we cant see who is the possible carrier of the virus.

But I don’t think that there was such a reason - bookmakers have the right at any time to declare any result “unplayed” and return bets to betters. This is done to protect them from such fraud.

Imagine, having a sports tournament without an audience, it's kinda hard to play without any motivation from your fans. We all know that moral support or audience's cheers have a psychological effect on an athlete to do amazing things and to win the game. But we must accept that it's the new normal and organizers of such tournaments should come up with an idea to maintain the crowds' cheer like SFX that's continuously playing throughout the game and the commentator should be more lively to burn the silence of the game.

Also, fans shouldn't go outside and just watch the game in their homes. They should think for themselves during this pandemic 'cause there's still a next year that you'll see your favorite athletes.

I'm laughing very hard with the response of these women to the winning team .

With this unfair event, for sure the winning team doesn't feel that they won really because it is completely an unfair event and the competitiveness of the game isn't there. This can also happen to different sports events too where competitiveness isn't there because of the virus that will hinder them.

Why not continue with cyber leagues just like we are seeing some SRLs for cricket, soccer and tennis? Why do we need our top players to enter the courts and play during this pandemic? I think we need to change our mentality too that it's time to become mature enough to treat those players as humans too and know that they can too get infected and infect other major players too.

That's their profession that's why. People are paying money to see these players.

I know players will understand the situation and the risks they are dealing with. It's just unfortunate that some become infected while playing.

The sad truth but the sports industry needs to move on.

Agree, I will understand if some players will choose to not play, however I think some will still choose to play as long as the safety precautions will be followed, and did you guys forget its an industry too? People works for this industry, some industries are slowly getting back to work, and those who work for this industry needs to slowly go back too. I'm scared for the athletes and staff, but if there's really a way to safely continue their work, then let them be. Some of them really need to work. Its not only about us missing the sports and so on, I can watch esports, replays, etc. but its much more bigger than that

We are close to finding the cure for the coronavirus. China has already received the go-ahead for testing its large-scale phase 3 vaccine in the UAE.
Which shows good hope for overcoming this pandemic.
While so many of us must settle for games without fans. Until the final cure arrives.
