I was getting 24T but it's never go up after that so I give up. And now I come back with mindset to ignore the bestever.
All we need is share that greater than bitcoin diff. That's it.

Good luck for everyone.

Good luck for everyone.

I just find it interesting that a single low perfomance miner can hit the high numbers, it really does demonstrate the random luck of it all.

I'm happy to see it produce bigger shares even if its not a win, I just find it encouraging.

24T is a really nice hit, I can understand you giving up keeping tabs on it after that without getting a win.

It'd be nice if the pool tracked the last 5 or so biggest shares, like a league table.

I went into lottery/solo mining knowing that its likely never to give a result but mostly because high-cap mining costs too much and given the current diff, its hard to recover costs let alone make a profit.

With lotto mining there's always that chance and for 20-30Watts, its a no brainer!

As the saying goes; Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Good luck!

I'm only running one Compac F its about 17Watts at the socket and its being run by a Raspberry PI Zero 2W, which is about 3 watts at the socket so in total approx 20Watts. As a lottery miner thats great, it blends into the background a costs litterally nothing to run, especially given the house is running mostly on solar & battery.

But, yes a real miner you're looking at more than 3000Watts at the socket!

Yep that's fair. My concern is there's been a resurgence of trying to use equipment that does absurdly low hashrates lately (in the KH range). That's not lottery, it's sheer folly.

I agree anything less than a couple of hundred GH/s is just insanity.

I have a NerdMiner_v2. Since OP doesn't want such low hashrate devices connecting to his ckpool (that's completely understandable, no coplaints here on my side), I figured I would try to run my own backend as I have one VPS that is pretty much getting bored and is already running bitcoind.

I compiled OP's solobtc from https://bitbucket.org/ckolivas/ckpool-solo/src/solobtc/ , I have bitcoind configured in server mode and running, ckpool (solobtc) tools is running, my NerdMiner_v2 is connecting and hashing. However, there are some (I hope) minor issues.

Firstly, I see the below messages about failing to set the desired rcvbufsiz, in the ckpool log at logging level 7:

Code:
[2023-07-16 13:03:54.962] ckpool connector starting

Is that something I should address, if so, how? Should I always run it as root (that does not seem smart to run internet exposed code as root)?

Second thing is, if I run
Code:
ckpool -B -l 7 -c /mypath/to/ckpool.conf
I see one (my) client connected but it reports zero hashes/sec.
Code:
0.00H/s  0.0 SPS  1 users  1 workers  0 shares  0.0% diff
and the ckpool.log says it's "Skipping user" of mine, "Failed to parse suggest_difficulty for client 1" and reports in idle stats. See below. What's the problem?

Code:

Oh, and by the way, if OP really doesn't want so low hash rate devices connecting to his ckpool, I would suggest reaching out to authors of the NerdMiner_v2 software here https://github.com/BitMaker-hub/NerdMiner_v2 as ckpool address is a default option there.

Oh, and by the way, if OP really doesn't want so low hash rate devices connecting to his ckpool, I would suggest reaching out to authors of the NerdMiner_v2 software here https://github.com/BitMaker-hub/NerdMiner_v2 as ckpool address is a default option there.

He advises against it, he says its a waste of time, he says they use the same amount of resources from a big miner for a small miner. But I also seen him say he will not stop/disable it. Correct me if I'm wrong but it is allowed he is just very clear your wasting power and time. It is still random!

It is a waste of time and money 💰.

Buy an L3+ point it to nicehash.

mine enough btc to rent from nicehash and point it at ckpool.

you would be far more likely to make a block with my method.

(...)

I know it is pointless if I were to count on making any sats this way. But as mentioned, I already have this VPS running anyway getting bored in between projects, so I pay zero extra money for running ckpool there for a week or two. Also, the hardware that runs NerdMiner_v2 software I actually also got for another project which I will not start for a few weeks as I am awaiting more components delivery. So I just want to play around and learn something in the meantime.

OVHCloud host the solo pool and offer VPSs. A ckproxy doesn't need much horsepower, storage, nor ram.

Blockparty Run 43 is over, no Block found and here are the new Blockparty Run 44
English topic here and main English / German mixed here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5460071.0

Best regards and cross our fingers

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.005 BTC, 0.01 BTC or more BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block

In the past we had found 10 blocks --> 196 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217, 780525

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address bc1qlpd45688hce39lusur8sdnuzy3z2dx4uvrgpkt and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2023 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2023 all payments are used around longer to run.

As long as open slots are available the coins can be sent at any time without an OK from me

Of course there is no guarantee that we will find a block, but it would be mega if we repeat the runs until we find one!
Should something happen like: Nicehash account hacked, deposit address in forum post hacked, BTC sent to a wrong address, etc. no compensation for the loss will be provided. Everyone takes this risk or does not participate in the block party if they do not agree with it. However, I assure that everything will be done with the highest care as before.

Hey there,

I asked a question a few days ago, but no one seems was able to answer. Is this a good place for this kind of questions? Let me know if there is a thread I can ask and get some help.
I have two miners, but I want them to work together rather than apart and planned to use soloproxy to consolidate my devices into a single connection, but this pesky error doesn't let me compile the software that I downloaded from solo.ckpool.org.

Hi there,

I am trying to install soloproxy-0.9.5 but getting this error during the installation:
Code:
  CCLD     ckpool
/usr/bin/ld: generator.o:(.bss+0x0): multiple definition of `global_ckp'; ckpool.o:(.bss+0x0): first defined here
/usr/bin/ld: bitcoin.o:(.bss+0x0): multiple definition of `global_ckp'; ckpool.o:(.bss+0x0): first defined here
/usr/bin/ld: stratifier.o:(.bss+0x0): multiple definition of `global_ckp'; ckpool.o:(.bss+0x0): first defined here
/usr/bin/ld: connector.o:(.bss+0x0): multiple definition of `global_ckp'; ckpool.o:(.bss+0x0): first defined here
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [Makefile:488: ckpool] Error 1

can anyone help fix the error?
Thank you in advance.

Only the solo ckpool branch code is maintained, and make sure to use the latest version from git, which is currently tagged as 0.9.9

Thank you Con,

I was able to make it work.

I noticed a couple of inconsistencies with README though:
1. 'make' did not produce 'ckproxy' binary for me, but 'make install' did
2. 'ckproxy.conf' should have 'btcaddress' property set up, otherwise it won't start. The 'ckproxy.conf' from git doesn't have it, which was a bit confusing unless you look at the code.

Anyway, thank you again for your great work! It's greatly appreciated!

Happy mining!
