BTC More than just numbers  Wink

Not looking like my rental is going to hit this time round!

But consider how spectacular it would have been if it had hit. Hat tip to you for having the balls to go for it.

Quick question CK.

Why do rentals show shares like this with lots of zeros at the end I noticed most rentals I do have this but when I rent single miners or put some of my own on they show the shares as full numbers?

Rental Example
Code:
   "hashrate1m": "0",
   "hashrate5m": "0",
   "hashrate1hr": "0",
   "hashrate1d": "1.35T",
   "hashrate7d": "42.4T",
   "lastshare": 1643974944,
   "shares": 14695000000,
   "bestshare": 19554100453.00714,
   "bestever": 19554100453

Non-rental

Code:
 "hashrate1m": "0",
   "hashrate5m": "0",
   "hashrate1hr": "108M",
   "hashrate1d": "3.45T",
   "hashrate7d": "1.75T",
   "lastshare": 1644465743,
   "shares": 312323777,
   "bestshare": 650426091891.621,
   "bestever": 650426091891
Because the share count is a multiple of the share difficulty, and rentals are using shares on a port with a minimum difficulty of 1 million, so they'll always be a multiple of 1 million. The other port doesn't have a lower limit.

Thanks Willi.

So basically a group of 20 people put in roughly $450 at current btc usd price in hoping to hit a block. So how long does the hash rental last? One month?

43000 x 6.25 = 268,750

20 x 900 =  9000

268,750/9000 = 29.86 to 1 for your money. Depending on rental price the real odds could be 27 or 29 to 31 or 35 to 1

Most often it is gambling as the odds you get are likely to be a bit worse than what you should get.

Gambling is betting at unfavorable odds
Investing is betting at favorable odds.

Hi ,

Trying to mine this pool using ./cpuminer using

./cpuminer -a sha256d -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -p c=BT

It looks like it mine normally (see bellow). The problem is that I have a "Not found page" when I go to

https://solo.ckpool.org/users/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

What Should I do ?

Thanks

it's recurring topic. you're mining with CPU. it does not make a sense even as a lottery.
pool won't show any statistics for you.

you need to buy ASIC miner or you can spend money directly on Nicehash and point computing power on this pool. E.g. in most of European countries buying hashing power on NiceHash is cheaper than rate you would spend on electricity, even not mentioning costs of buying hardware.

Use google and read more before you start mining. You can use CPU for mining other coins (Monero, Wownero, Raptoreum, Verus Coin, etc.). But you can earn only some dust on this Wink

Group buy Blockparty 14 --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5385449.0

3 seats are free ath the moment

############################

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.01 BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block

In the past we had found 9 blocks --> 188 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address 3KWE8HcunSfvfNBy3CdXZdQ2HyvierBxeT and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

Again two people have sent coins although they had no space. The effort to manage this increases and increases.
FROM NOW I CONSIDER EVERY TX SENT WITHOUT HAVING A PLACE AS MY PERSONAL DONATION.
If you are unsure, ask first!

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are only reservations for people who pay at least 10 block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2022 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2022 all payments are used around longer to run.

Please send reservation amounts only when you read an OK from me!

Thanks

./cpuminer -a sha256d -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u xxxxxx -p c=BTC

Because CPU mining is sooooo slow, it might take days for the pool to figure out that you are actually mining.

If you use an ASIC miner you'll see it show instantly.

Hello to you all.

Quick question...

I cant find the stats using my BTC address... It goes to 404 page not found.
Why is that?
Im mining for a day. Is that because my hash is too small?

That's sooo small. It will take a while before your stats show correctly.

I'm a mini sized lottery miner here and I have 8 TH/s pointed here.
