Hi!

Part 1 of the christmas present is another world premiere: First Groestl based Android wallet

After a measure of hard work adapting the latest Bitcoin wallet (v4.14) for Android to Groestlcoin, the Groestlcoin Android wallet beta (v0.20) is ready for testing.
The app allows you to send and receive Groestlcoins on your device using QR codes and URI links.
When using this app, please back up your wallet and email them to yourself!  This will save your wallet in a password protected file.  Then your coins can be retrieved even if you loose your phone.

Planned fixes in the next beta release:
1.  Support for sweep paper wallet

It is appreciated if feedback of the following is provided:
1.  Can you receive coins? (small amounts to avoid losing them)
2.  Can you send coins?
3.  Can you scan a QR code from another phone.
4.  Can you request coins via email or other android service?
5.  How long does it take to sync the blockchain?
6.  How much space does it take up on your phone?
7.  Does it calculate exchange rates properly?

If the app crashes you can send the report via email or another method if your phone allows it.  Reports of errors can also be posted in this topic.
To close the app, simply press the back button until you reach your home screen.  The app will close itself (there is no need for a disconnect option).
This application is licensed under the GPL version 3. There is no warranty and no party shall be made liable to you for damages. If you lose coins due to this app, no compensation will be given. Use this app solely at your own risk.

Source code:
https://github.com/HashEngineering/groestlcoinj - Groestlcoin Java Library (for the Android App and possibly other software)
https://github.com/HashEngineering/groestlcoin-wallet - The Groestlcoin Android Wallet Source code

Link to Android App:
https://github.com/HashEngineering/groestlcoin-wallet/releases/tag/v0.20
The wallet will be published on Google Play by December 31, unless significant problems are reported by the beta testers.

The application may have unfound bugs and problems. To leave feedback:
1.  PM hashengineering on bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=155038
2.  email: hashengineeringsolutions@gmail.com

You can donate in the app directly to Hashengineering for his hard work. On the menu go to "donate"

Hi!

In light of transparancy and because our community deserve to know what is going on we are making this official statement.

After conducting our own research we have concluded that Moolah dropped their "stolen" coins and dumped them on PoloniEx.
The mintpal addresses are almost empty: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/grs/wallet.dws?FstRdMu1VRkp7qSCD5zmEZtVyBc1emhTQb.htm
All coins were transfered to PoloniEx on 22 dec: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/grs/address.dws?304346.htm
8.7M were left on PoloniEx to be grabbed for 75 satoshi. Those coins were bought within 12 hours by investors. I'm proud that the community did not panic in this situation and stayed cool.

Around same period (21 dec till 25 dec) coins were dumped of other altcoins like Whitecoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=804288.msg9909891#msg9909891) and Digibyte (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.msg9906847#msg9906847) on Cryptsy and Bittrex. We were not the only altcoin being dumped !

This is a good thing for Groestlcoin (and all other altcoins) as the coins are back into circulation. We can leave the Mintpal drama behind us now.
Our research has been shared with Mintpal (FerdousBhai) and PoloniEx (busoni and tf2honeybadger).

Finally we want to thank fairglu for his assistance, swift respons, tagging/pinpointing the mintpal addresses and for having such a transparant (and awesome) block explorer. Without it, it would be difficult to comprehend what was going on.

Best Regards,

Hi!

Another statement in light of transparancy.

All GRS pool operators (OmarG of Omargpools, Altrides from Dwarfpool etc) are also advisors for Groestlcoin.
As some may know, OmarG recently took over the development as the new dev of Hirocoin.

On 11 october we proposed OmarG to merge Hirocoin into Groestlcoin as he was getting short in time (and leading a coin is very time consuming).
His reaction was that he will consider the offer if we can provide some sort of conversion or reward program to award the HIRO users with some sort of GRS. Perhaps at a 1:10 ratio 1 GRS : 10 HIRO or 1 GRS : 15 HIRO. OmarG did not want to abandon the project, disappoint the investors/long-term holders and leave them with nothing.

On 26 october we had another contact and he told us that he is still looking into creating some value for current Hirocoin users as he don't want to abandon them completely.

After the forking problems on Hirocoin in November, OmarG announced our proposal on 10 november: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=787471.msg9492936#msg9492936

On 15 november OmarG asked us if he can publicly announce our name (on which we agreed) and he opened a poll (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=787471.140) if Hirocoin should be acquired by GRS or if the development should continue. We agreed internally to keep the poll open for 1 month and to decide on 15 December.

For a long time it was a split decision but on the end they did not wanted to be acquired by us. We regret but fully respect their choice, albeit it was not the most logical one as OmarG has no time to do the development for them. Hirocoin as it is right now needs a hardfork fast or needs to be acquired by another coin (we would recommend our Groestl brothers: Diamond (DMD), Myriadcoin, Digibyte or Saffroncoin).

We hope the best for the Hirocoin community.

On another note: We have a new community manager on Bitcointalk (themikeymen001) and a new social media manager (franckuestein).
Please join me in welcoming them in our great community!
