can someone share what speeds the nvidia 750 TI is getting with the new updated Nvidia miner?

and whats up with the difficulty, its bounceing around like a mofo.

The new ccMiner 1.0 does not include the new "killer Groestl" implementation we're all waiting for. Still waiting on that so Id expect speeds to be the same as before (whatever that is)

Network is still settling after recent excitement.
In any case we'll be hard forking to DGW v3 shortly which should mitigate some of the volatility (i think).

thanks

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

And since dwarfpool has about 50% of hashrate (yes, again!!!) it seriously harms the DGW algo and it sets totally incorrect difficulty. Which in turn results in more blocks being found than planned.

This is the first time I hear something like that.

hmm i could have sworn i read somewhere in this thread someone had mentioned it and that thier speed went up from 3.3mhs to around the 7mhs mark.

Hi Groestlers (and cyphermonks Cheesy )

Here is the new Mac wallet, together with a message from instacash who compiled it.
Many thanks instacash.

Obviously we'll have to update this walet soon (hard fork coming) but I thought it might provide some cheer + we can admire its gørgeøusness!

As ever, pls tip instacash as I did,

Quote
7 Conclusions

In this paper, we have shown the details of the currently best known Grøstl implementations. Using AES-NI extensions and AVX instructions, we are able to implement Grøstl-256 with close to 10 cycles/byte. Furthermore, the design of Grøstl also provides many possibilities for efficient implementation techniques. We have presented the most important methods and hope that they will serve as an inspiration for further optimizations. Especially the vperm implementation has some room for improvements, on x86 CPUs as well as on new platforms. For example, NEON byte permute instructions can be used to speed-up Grøstl on new ARM platforms

Sounds good to me.

great coin, thanks for the work. ASIC's are on the horizon, some already began operating them but not against groestl coin.

price is also extremely low given very professional execution and stability of the operation. I say and not at all biased or driven by self interest this coin belongs in the top tier.

I started to have some thoughts while reading through the JPC thread... and posted a bit over there, but wanted to bring the conversation over here and see what the thoughts were on load balancing mining pools somehow for the good of the coin.

I see tons of problems with any coin that has success with most of the miners jumping to specific pools and the hashrate of that one pool getting too large, and then just continuing to grow from there. Seems to be happening all the time...

Usually everyone just asks people to move, but very few seem to actually do it, and I am guessing after finally getting their rig running right very few want to go and reconfigure just to move elsewhere.

JPC seems to have the problem of their Jackpot actually encouraging miners to flock to the greatest place to get a shared slice of the big payout, but I think it probably applies to all coins as we have seen with the coin and dwarfpool issue here popping up.

Neither is a good thing (miners flocking to one pool, or confrontation with a coin and it's biggest pool)

So my thoughts are on how does a 'coin' handle this in a way that can work out for both in the future? Has there been anything tried on coins that may have eventually failed to address the issue?

Has any coin gone down this road before?

I was just thinking that with the 'Democratizing Mining' concept with Groestlcoin that making sure the power doesn't fall into one group's hands fits into that line of thinking and direction for future consideration...

My simple, not more than 20 minutes of thought is to collect a % of the payouts above a certain number that are shared based on inverse percentage to the smaller pools to increase payouts on those pools and encourage the movement automatically. No mass exodus, but just enough bonus that some pool breaking the ~33% of total hash rate barrier max (or whatever number is decided) would be paying bonuses to miners in the smaller pools with extra profits.

Anyhow, maybe I am just crazy... but just wanted to share my thoughts.

THX!

Hi there!

For some reason, I am not able to push R9 280x pass 6.4 MHash/s mark. I am using the following miner:

https://github.com/badman74/sph-sgminer

I am not able to use your suggested miner as it does not submit any shares at dwarfpool.com. The machine hashes and hashes - AND EVEN IF I MINE with your miner and your suggested settings, I cannot push it over 6.3 MHash/s mark.

The card is in good shape, I have always able to push it when mining Scrypt. GPU clock is set to 1100, mem clock is set to 1500.

Settings I use, are:
    "auto-fan" : true,
    "gpu-fan": "30-99",
    "temp-cutoff" : "95",
    "temp-overheat" : "85",
    "temp-target" : "79",
    "worksize": "256",
    "intensity" : "20",
    "gpu-threads" : "1",
    "thread-concurrency" : "8192",
    "lookup-gap" : "0",
    "vectors" : "1",
    "shaders" : "2048",
    "api-port": "4028",
    "api-listen": true,
    "api-allow": "W:127.0.0.1",
    "failover-only" : true,
    "no-pool-disable": true,
    "no-submit-stale" : true,
    "queue": "0",
    "log" : "5",
    "gpu-powertune" : "20",
    "algorithm" : "groestlcoin",

Iam using BAMT 1.6.0 and I have compiled miners from scratch without any problems. The card is not overheating and I have a good PSU.

And since dwarfpool has about 50% of hashrate (yes, again!!!) it seriously harms the DGW algo and it sets totally incorrect difficulty. Which in turn results in more blocks being found than planned.

This is the first time I hear something like that.

I think something similar to this was happening: https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?/topic/2293-vulnerability-in-pool-server-stratum-implementation-quickfix-for-pools-in-here/

One of the nodes was broadcasting incorrect time. The stratum software was setting incorrect timestamp on the mined block and that lead to incorrect difficulty calculation.

To fight against this, I'm proposing that we fork into DGWv3 on block #100,000. (In about 6 days from now)

I'll provide more details shortly.

Thanks

Hi!

Thank you for this!

It is also possible to use "spacebar" instead of a mouseclick.

Also, once you withdraw some funds, the amount does not decrease. You withdraw again and it says "insufficient funds".

Is it possible to know how much GRS are currently "in the bank"?

I'm using the game backing wallet currently FeSjdPY3D4Az94XD33hudKtRgim58uuq9G as a buffer for the transactions, but the rewards will be deducted form the faucet's address (which is showing a weird huge amount due to the way wallets handle the balances) FjTNDaXTMExn7WQpFQraV33XTzgaC7BJo3.

the main wallet shows 53 GRS, does it sound right? http://grs.42tx.com/address/FjTNDaXTMExn7WQpFQraV33XTzgaC7BJo3
As for this address - it doesn't work here: http://grs.42tx.com/address/FeSjdPY3D4Az94XD33hudKtRgim58uuq9G
and shows as 0 here: http://coinia.net/groestlcoin/getbalance.php?addr=FeSjdPY3D4Az94XD33hudKtRgim58uuq9G

How many GRS do you now have in the faucet?

Also, how much are paid to people who play the game? Is it based solely on how long they play / how far they can fly  or is is multiplied by the total numer of GRS in the wallet?

Thanks

Dear Groestlcoin community!

Please review the proposed security update to Groestlcoin: https://github.com/GroestlCoin/GroestlCoin/pull/10/files

If no problems / recommendations are received within 24 hours from now, this pull request will be merged into the main github repo, we will compile Win and Mac wallets and start the migration to Groestlcoin v2.0.5 wallet.

The most important change is a hard fork at block 100,000 (about 6 days from now) where we switch from DGW v1 to DGW v3.

Thank you for your support.
