Some miners are holding because of the low price and because they are building up coinage for the coming PoS.
These may be the reasons of low exchange volume.

As I know 10+ miners, I'd bet miners are not holding - but they were gone. Just check the dwarfpool. Just over the weekend 25% of miners left the pool.

surely some are gone.
you know there are two types of miners: mine2btc and believers Wink

What are you talking about? This is a hard cash business. Except if you secretly using your mom's electricity and your dad's laptop to mine mine mine... Then I'd be a believer, too.

believers are people buying and mining a coin even when it's not profitable because they think it's worth and it will reach a higher value in the future.
you know, like the ones who first mined and bought BTC at a couple dollars and now they are worth 600.
or people who mined and kept DRK when it was 300.000 satoshi and now it's 0.017

You didn't noticed a trick. DRK guys PREMINED/INSTAMINED 5% of coins. They sold-off some of these coins in early ages, to obtain BTC.

And then they were holding both, DRK and BTC. And they essentially play a central bank, pumping the value of DRK to the desired level.

As they obtained BTC "out of thin air", they were able to spend quantities of BTC, to 'skyrocket' the coin.

GRS is not premined, instamined, no nothing. There is noone to support the value of the coin (read: do pumps on as needed basis).

Now, tell me - why are you believer in the first place? DRK guys are 'supporting' the coin. Who exactly is supporting GRS?

BTW, even Euro is supported by ECB.

You are just holding and hoping?

Gimme a break.

Well so you're trying to point out that if grs would be instamined/premined we would have way bigger value now?

The only online casino on which i won something. I made 17mBTC from 1mBTC in like 15 minutes.  This is not paid AD!

Well so you're trying to point out that if grs would be instamined/premined we would have way bigger value now?

Instamining is usually connected to 'bad' reputation - in a sense that devs or 'known' early miners do a fast mine, grab something, then dump it as first occasion as possible. And perhaps go away or leave the coin.

But if BTCs are held to regulate the value, then instamining is not a bad thing.

I am trying to point out that someone has to hold up the value. DRK guys had means for something like that. More or less, they were motivated too, as they hold some amounts of DRK, too.

One can still support the value of GRS, by buying BTCs and then pumping them into GRS. Of course, you have to pick Euros or Dollars from your pocket. There comes instamining into play, providing a base reserve for later times. Well, the instamine time for GRS is over, so pick Euros from your pockets.

The value of GRS will not increase by pure magic.

That is what I am saying.

Other elements are important, too. Like that mining should be profitable, to some extent at least. By limiting the reward, the GRS is shooing away miners. Do you think miners will stay out of pure believing?

I think not.

And as the value is not supported and the reward is going down fast - this coin approaches his end.

All we believe in Future Values of the coin
The value of GRS will increase by pure magic of technologies.

That is what I am saying. Grin
Groestlcoin need Somme New technologies to make it Special !! Groestlsend is good but it's Darkcoin idea,we need to stay closer from project like BTC than any other to survive .
good project need more developers, ideas & Innovation that what we need now.
-After decreasing the groestcoin to 25 GRS ,i think that will take more price value .(personally i don't need that Groestlcoin will be most profitable coin at this Stage) just to see Myriad-Groestl one miner with 5 GH/S Shocked.
the Image of the coin to be more Money/Currency than any other things is more important (just buy & sell Stuff)  .

I Belive in future of GroestlCoin as new fair Coin Technologically Most Advances Groestl Algo integration.

Hi my friends. Sorry for my english.

I think that GRS is OK as is now, and will be better when all the thing in the Future will done.

I think that GRS could be the everyday money for everyone. If I could pay with my smartphone by my app, and at the same time mining some GRS
from a call to another it would be great.

Add GRS to every payment. I don't know well coinkite but I think it can be interesting.

Last a question.
There's a cold wallet somewhere?

Thanks

Groestlcoin was created on 22 March 2014 and we’ve seen some interesting few months since then. A lot has also been achieved. We have:

  • Patched the HeartBleed vulnerability
  • Updated to Dark Gravity Wave 3
  • Updated the logo
  • Created the new website
  • Created a Reddit tip bot for our users. u/GroestlTip
  • Built a solid base in social communities like twitter, reddit, facebook
  • Created an official Groestlcoin forum, paper money generator, extra block explorer, and got listed on numerous exchanges
  • It is even possible to buy GRS directly with Euro (on 2 different websites).

Building on these important milestones, today we would like to share with you the Groestlcoin roadmap for 2014:

Our most important update: Groestlcoin is going POW + POS (70% POW and 30% POS) on block #150,000 (early July 2014). The community has been asking for it and we are implementing it.

Also, from block #150,000, the new block reward strategy will be used: 25 GRS initially and decreasing 1% each week up to the minimum reward of 5 GRS. The total volume of coins will not be changed and will remain 105,000,000.

It will give us 10 additional years (up to 2033) of mining using the Groestl algorithm and it’ll decrease the inflation levels.

From block #120,000 to block #150,000 the reward will be decreased 10% daily, reaching 25 GRS at block #150,000.

We will launch a Groestlcoin advertising campaign, featuring a bodypainted model in the first week of June. Sneak peak: http://goo.gl/KE2xfO

At block #200,000 (or earlier, if time permits) we will introduce GroestlSend, a way to send anonymous transactions.

Other news is that we will be launching a Groestl/MyriadGroestl multipool during this summer and payouts will be in GRS.

We will keep working on a JavaScript/WebGL Groestlcoin mining website and planning to open it by the end of 2014 (no exact date yet).

Android miner has just been released and it gives about 25-60 KH/s per core, on the latest smartphones/tablets. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner.groestl and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner

Another June premiere is a p2pool for Groestlcoin. This will help us better distribute hashes and secure the network.

We are also focusing on the actual usage of Groestlcoin in daily life. Payments with GRS, shops accepting GRS, etc. We just won the CoinPayments.net vote.

Groestlcoin will keep being a community coin and follow the latest trends in crypto currencies.

Thank You,

The GroestlCoin team

Could you comment on the details of your specific implementation of PoS? Will the wallet need to remain constantly on-line, for example? If not, how often will you need to mint to get full benefit? Could you leave your wallet off-line for a year and still mint the 30%? Will interest (minting) compound if you mint at more frequent intervals? Or would it be the same to only mint once every 5 years or so? What would be the optimized minting schedule for the average Joe?

TIA

We need some announcements, for example confirmations that the current wallet does PoS, dates of the new projects like the GRS/DMD pool etc.
Yesterday the diamond community announced that the new wallet with PoS is almost ready and the price doubled.
I also see users moving from GRS to DMD in the pools, do you want to loose all the miners? :-)

hy guys !

yesterday I gave chance to the new 14.6 AMD drivers, and I was stunned with results.  almost 30 % more Mh/s. ( from 8 to 10 Mh/s on 2x r9 280x, and from 4 to 6 Mh/s on 7870 BE )
(sgminer 4.1.0, and 13.12 was the previous drivers)

Wow! I confirm this. Thanks for sharing.

My R9 290 went from 9.6 mhs to 14.9 mhs (68 degrees celcius @ 40% fan). R9 270x is 7.4 mhs.
Hi,what's your conf for r9 290?
