The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

It seems likely that the Grøstlcoin dev is in fact one of the Grøstl algo authors.

If so we could not wish for a better dev to oversee the coins development.

I'm not averse to a bit of dumping > helps to distribute the currency more

Below is a message posted on the Darkcoin thread regarding some shots accross X11's bough from Adam Back (brain-box cyptographer who invented hashcash) and Charlie Lee (of LTC fame).

I only draw it to your attention so that we might feel safe from such criticism by using a rock solid hashing algo (already scrutinized and accepted by the scientific community) with cool diffusion features etc that make it superior (arguably) to any other hashing algo out there.

Go Grøstl & Happy Hashing Smiley

Any views on Charlie Lee, founder of Litecoin, on X11 being less secure than scrypt?

His comment:
https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=18166.msg153436#msg153436

The back story to the comment:

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=18166.msg152706#msg152706

Quote
X11 is Far Worse
X11 suffers from the problems stemming from increased propagation latency and slow verification, and adds even worse susceptibility to ASIC advantage.  It is a mere mishmash of 11 separate algorithms that are now GPU mineable (according to Darkcoin’s homepage).  Anything GPU mineable can be implemented in custom hardware.  To make matters worse, ASIC’s could even have a major speedup advantage over GPU’s.   adam3mus said, “it does seem likely that eg if the unused space due to heat can be filled with the other hashes, then it can all be pipelined together and no slowdown.  the only cost is replicating different hash functions which doesnt seem particularly hard”

So a switch to X11 only delays the inevitable.  Switching the hash to X11 would only spite the current manufacturers while ultimately failing in the goal of preventing ASIC’s later.  It gets even worse.  If the cost of entry for a particular PoW is very high by design, that increases the chance of fewer competing manufacturers entering a market.  This is the worst possible outcome for any Bitcoin-like network that relies upon large quantities of greedy miners to outdo each other to maintain network security.

The quoted adam3mus is a brain on legs. He knows far too much about hashing, I think he invented hashcash wash was used to make bitcoin feasible. He does, however, suffer from alt-coin phobia.

we need so much votes to go on mintpal.. This voting system were you have to pay to vote, don't like it.

We need Poloniex, but there is no hurry.

Actually, with the low BTC rate, many people dump their altcoin to get BTC and then to get fiat...
When the trust in BTC will come back, we will see more interest in altcoins, and in GroestlCoin. It will be the moment to be on a big exchange.

You can ignore me but you cant ignore the truth.

Dev probably dumped his instamied coins and moved on since this project didnt get as much attention as he wanted.

In the meanwhile the price has fallen by more than 30% this week.

Relax Calhil, the dev is busy at the moment thats why he hasn't added it. The price fluctuates up and down as it is usual for young coins. So nothing out of the ordinary.

We are marketing the coin hard on Twitter at the moment and together with Coinmarketcap and one of the larger xchanges we will make the noise that we need.

I thought it's obvious that Calhil simply wants to be that one dissenter that can have a chance to gloat and say "look at all these posts I made early on, I told you all but no one listened" in the scenario that the coin fails. I doubt he has any desire to actually protect newcomers' investments. He's brought up one point about GRS but it really doesn't seem like a huge dealbreaker to me (considering other "instamined" coins that have done well already).

On another note, I've been voting consistently at Mintpal for this coin, even if there is no realistic chance of actually being listed anytime soon. If even one other person notices GRS' consistent rise in the voting list then it is worth it.

I didn't know you were the voice of truth ! sorry !

Like when you were suporting skeincoin ! What, skeincoin, what is it ? Yeah, another coin that died...So, you can be wrong ??

Seriously, if you know the future, you are already rich and you have other thing to do than educate us...

Man, we didn't care if you are right or not. We believe in this coin, you don't. Ok, no problem for me, if you don't believe in this coin, it's your right. But why are you here ? I can't undertand.
You complain about instamined. It was not. Premine ? all premine was guiven in bounty. The fact you think you come too late ? It's not too late.

We need something done about this problem. If gruve_p is too busy for such matters perhaps he could delegate.

Agreed this Coin is missing valuable support, I like the activity push on Twitter but it's not enough.
There is no housekeeping or real marketing / Design Development all of the softer things that can make a good coin great!

Other coins have Competitions, Givaways, Faucets, Lotto, Games, Youtube promo and other social media etc..

Have a look at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=410254.0 this is a great example of how a coin should be pushed
I used to mine USDE but gave up on it a while back! but you have got to admire the support it gets!

There is no doubt that this is a fantastic Algo and I love mining it but it is pointless if no-one knows about it!
Although I am enjoying the low difficulty ....
