Dear dwarfpool miners!

Please spread your hash.

Current net hashrate is 11GH, while DwarfPool has about 7.3GH. I.e. more than 50%

That's really bad for the coin as it poses the possibility of a 51% attack.

If there are some reasons that you don't want to move to other pools - please state them.

I.e. if you don't want to register and set up workers in MPOS systems, please try cryptohunger.com:8080.

Or perhaps you have some other concerns - then please share them.

List of pools:
http://grs.cryptohunger.com/
http://cryptohunger.com:8080
http://cpu-pool.net/grs/
https://grs.suprnova.cc/
https://www2.coinmine.pl/grs/
http://www.omargpools.ca/grs/
http://grs.5limi.com/

PS: Do not forget to set backup pools so that your miners are not idle if something happens with your primary pool.

Thank you for understanding!

Here's my post from a few days back

Hey everyone,

I would like to kindly ask the miners out there to please switch from dwarfpool to one of the smaller pools.
The reason for this is to avoid monopolization problems such as a 51% attack.

By no means am I accusing dwarfpool owners of anything. I have had a good experience with it myself.
It's just a reminder that, for the network to be healthy, we should go with the way of the precautionary principle.

Here are the best options, in a subjective order:
1. CryptoHunger - pool admined by the coin's dev, srcxxx. https just added / multi core server, DDOS protected / 0.8% proportional fee - fees and donations go to GroestlCoin promotion (!!).
2. CoinMine.pl - the smallest pool, but, from what I understood, with a friendly staff. Give these guys a hand!
4. grs.5limi.com - Chinese pool admined by whyyk7.
3. grs.suprnova.cc - one of the "oldest 3" pools. I have used them without any problems until changing to cryptohunger.
4. CPU-Pool.net - another big player, part of the "oldest 3". Did not test, but reckon that the ~300 miners currently on the pool are satisfied. They have the second hashrate overall, so they would not need any extra miners.

Happy hashing! Cheesy

I am the operator of cryptohunger.com, so my recommendation may be biased.

I usually choose pools myself by checking ping to the stratum server. The faster, the better.

And don't forget to set up backup pools!

which pool are you recommend me to move? I am set on dwaftpool right now.

Pretty much any pool excluding these two: cpu-pool.net (4.4 GH currently) or Dwarfpool (7 GH).

grs.spuprnova.cc and cryptohunger.com have 1GH. Coinmine.pl - 0.5GH.

http://grs.5limi.com/ - 0 workers, http://www.omargpools.ca/grs/ - 1 worker.

Tested on Nexus 10 and got these results (single thread):

Also have contacted developers of two Android miners:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ycdroid.coinminer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner

So GRS mining is coming to your Androids!

I've got a couple of spare BTC for speculative coins that have something interesting to add.

I mined GRS shortly after launch to test the energy saving benefits. It is by far the best.

What's the general plan for GRS?

general plan is to keep optimizing and developing groestl mining on all platforms:
AMD+NVIDIA+INTEL+ARM

some short term plans almost certainly include:

1. android + iOS wallet combined with optimized ARM NEON miner.
The ARM miner is no gimmick and early testing indicates ARM mining already has  same power efficiency as GPU mining (hashrate/watts) (see above)
2. new paper wallet / logo refresh (see above)
3. soft relaunch with a little rebranding + PR push
3. change the tagline to:
[ANN] [GRS] GroestlCoin: Democratizing Mining | AES Accelerated | Ultimate PoW
4. Go to Austria to eat some Groeestl.

5. Kick some crypto ass!

thanks.

ASICs for Scrypt are shipping!  https://minereu.com/product/gridseed-blade-miner-80-chip-speical-promotion/

I think those are great news for the planet:  90% power reduction for Scrypt coins.

Now, what do we do with our "old" GPUs?  The answer: Mine GRS at half the electricity cost, compared to mining Scrypt last year.  Same revenues, half the expenses.  Good for the planet too!

Shouldn't that be one of the focus of an upcoming GRS up-branding?

EDIT:  There is around 200 GH/s (Scrypt), or 2 TH/s (Groeslt equivalent) of "old" GPUs to recycle to another purpose over the next 4-5 months.

Good for the planet too...   I would invest half what was for rig-s,,,for solar stuff and mine  only at day,,,  if they would let me,,use it only for my personaly use,,and I would decide later if I would like to sell electricity further...but...but...but

coin minible  only at day..  would it go,, like it would start in the morning (day light-even rainy days) and shutdown at sundown,,,

how does even coin launch look like??  is it coming from one main computer that ran    make stuff  and my GPU here, calculates what he sends,,,    or??

mining with solar panels is not a good deal: you need a huge investment and if the weather is bad you might mine very little for weeks.
country laws may put a lot of restraints so watch for that too.
if you want solar panels, do it for your house and mine as a plus.

Mining Crypto in North Africa:

An array of solar panels powering a farm of optimized ARM procs for mining Wink
And yes, lots of GPU's looking for new homes. For NVIDIA gpu's should be a no-brainer Wink

Dear yvg1900

pls accept my apologies for the delay in this matter. After a little confusion over the BOUNTY Im happy to award you the +33k% BOUNTY for cpumining.

Pls provide me an address to send your bounty.

Your continued participation in optimizing Groestl mining would be highly appreciated. Your obvious skills do not go unnoticed here Smiley

Sry 4 the delay.

Many many thanks yvg1900

RAISE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
PHASE #1: EUROPE: AUSTRIA, DENMARK, GERMANY

I believe our coin has a European flavour. Lets use it!

The Groestlcoin food meme ('groestl' means hash (browns) in Austrian) should arouse curiosity, interest and amusement both in Austria and Germany. They can easily pronounce it and understand what it mens.

Also in Denmark where the Groestlcoin algo (grøstl) was mostly developed (@DTUtweet) (together with Technical University Graz in Austria, @TUGraz) they can pronounce it and should be proud to have their own crypto-currency.

So I'm asking members of this community who speak German or Danish to start raising awareness of groestlcoin.

Tweet in German and Danish @magazines, local and national newspapers, radio shows , online news / tech sites in Austria, Germany and Denmark. Same for FB and other socials.

We want everybody in these countries to know about GRS.[/b] While we are not a memec-oin it would not hurt to become the dogecoin of Austria, Germany, Denmark and then to other parts of Europe.

The French love anti-US moves. The EU flavor of this coin might spark them off too.

Ill be sending generous tips to those of you who make breakthroughs, raise awareness and get us publicity. (if possible PM me copies of ur tweets with tipping addresses)

THE CAMPAIGN STARTS NOW!
