Update: developer, gruve_p, just sent me a PM and answered a few of my questions. This coin has a bright future. Am going to buy more GRS now, while it is cheap...

PS: Hoping to get my GRS pool up and running this week...

can you copy paste your pm in this thread ?

I asked him to post something to this thread, hopefully he'll do it. I also offered my help in promoting and possibly development of this coin.
+1
Hope to hear good news soon, form the dev himself.

I got a PM from the dev too. Let's see what the possibilities are. I want to suggest some bounties for PR jobs (get this coin on mintpal for example)

Here's your dev you fear mongers. This coin is just few days old, there are no serious technical issues with the coin and that means the dev did a good job, so why exactly do we need the dev to actively post in this thread, this isn't twitter.

anybody willing to give it a try and give me a feedback?

I changed the ASM groestl algo, from generic mmx (opteron) code to core2duo code, which is supposed to be faster and more optimized.
on top, you can compile now with -O3 without complains about the registry numbers in use (r15).

I am doing it from a laptop and mining with it does not change things that much, numbers are not flashy so I am just wondering, building and testing this, if it does  actually improves performances on top high end cpu core2duo or not.

on i7 2720 @ 2.20 ghz (8 cores processor) bogomisp at /proc/cpuinfo (ubuntu) 4385.32
running -t 4, only 4 threads, I get at the pool, around: 530 kh/s, can get up to 720 kh/s by running all 8 cores -t8

Just to make sure: I took the sources and forked it. I am planning on applying a fork if the dev won't show up soon. :p I can do the technical part but I need some others to do PR / graphics.

https://github.com/savale/GroestlCoin
I think it would be better if you have worked together with the dev.

+1

Dev, where are you?

If dev's not responsive, I guess we need to find an alternative, that's how free market works. This coin is one of the best kept alt-coin secrets right now.. Stacking.

may i ask what you got for mining  Huh Shocked
just because i spotted the hashrate Wink

Sure, I got a few rigs with R9 280x's.

All miners, I made a quick google spreadsheet with the optimal config for my GPU's, I would recommend you to do the same for your cards/CPU's so the new miners get the most khs for their cards. I believe this is key for groestlcoin to gain more miners.

It is editable by anyone as I trust the community to do what's best for itself:

You can vote to add this coin to Atomic-trade here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529591.20
It's free to vote and  the exchange has some really great features.

Just had a look at the very interesting Groestlcoin.pdf:

"As an effect of this, Grøstl has excellent diffusion and confusion properties."

Does this equate to anonymity? Does this coin contain anonymizing properties?
