I think all altcoins come with their respective risks. either investing in new altcoins or investing in old altcoins. but the new altcoins have a bigger risk than the old altcoins because the old altcoins have a lot of trust from every user. so that it makes the old altcoins better than new altcoins for us to invest in. especially for long term investment.

, take time for a new project to get popular , better to invest in a solid old project right  now, wait for btc to explode and big  altcoin project will follow, than change all money to tether and wait for the next bull run.

Risks will always exist in investments, even if the project has a good white paper.

Risk and investment go hand in hand. There is not such thing as protected investment.

To my view, investing in new coins at the moment is no longer the main route but there are exceptions where 1 out of the 200 projects you come across  is fully backed and has potential, though these are rare.

However, when one shows up you can still ensure profit so yes investing in new coins is risky but there are times when one is prepared to take that risk!

Investing in top or old coins can have smaller risks because most of them are already proven for many years to exist in crypto market. They are also owned by established projects that have good funding and experience in crypto space. While for new coins, we don't know how good the coins to survive and develop in crypto market since they are just launched. It should take some time to show us how the potential of those coins in the future. That's why we need to be more selective to buy new coins. Some of them can survive and grow well, but some can be delisted and be dead coins in the future.
