I waited till the final whistle before coming to respond to your comment. PSG was lucky to have equalized the two goals they conceded in the first half, I had already given up on the game when they were down by 2:0  but all thanks to F. Torres who was their savior tonight as he scored brace to help PSG share points with Rennes. Your prediction was almost perfect, Mendes absence affected PSG and Rennes took advantage of their loophole to score, both teams scored but PSG couldn't win cause their second goal so late but hopefully PSG does better in their next match.
With or without Mendez, Rennes would have still found a way score against PSG, I don't know how many though but they would have scored. They had higher probability of scoring than not to score, if you check the previous records between both clubs, you will find out that Rennes will score. In my personal opinion, I think we will not be seeing more of Mendez in the league but in the champions League, Enrique bought Lucas Digne who's also a LB, I'm thinking he will be more active in the league and Mendez will more active in the UCL, these PSG team wants to win the champions League again judging from how the team is currently positioned.

From what I saw in the game the absence of Mendes brought so much opening to the defense line of PSG I doubt if Rennes would have scored up to two goals if he was in the game because he would have held the defense very well. PSG wouldn't have conceded two goals may be they would have won the game by 1:2 but the point here is that the two goals happened because there was nobody to defend properly like the play that was absent that's my point.

Mendes is the first choice if the coach decides to rest him that will be when they have an important match but if he is fit to play he will be playing both in the League and champions League but the coach cdn decide to substitute him when they are in good advantage.

Ferran Torres made his official debut for Paris Saint-Germain and had a fantastic start, scoring two goals. Rennes started very well against Paris Saint-Germain and unexpectedly took the lead. They then held onto it until the final minutes, but couldn't prevent Paris Saint-Germain from scoring. However, I don't think they're upset about the draw. Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, need to prepare better for their next matches. They want to win the Champions League for the third time, and a match like this won't achieve that.

Torres has turned out to be a very profitable and smart signing for Enrique. And it’s difficult for me to understand why Flick decided to let Torres go to PSG when they were looking for a striker and a replacement for Lewandowski. At the same time, Enrique was ready to sign a player like that, and Barcelona let him leave. On the other hand, maybe everything was done correctly, because Barcelona also won their game, and in the match against Elche, it didn’t feel like they or their attack needed any help. PSG, on the other hand, had the exact opposite situation.

This really caught my attention, it's very interesting. Because Barcelona sent away a good striker they already had without acquiring a good one. I don't think Hansi Flick wanted Torres to leave. It was probably the management who wanted him to go. They have very little time left to get a better striker. They have to get a good striker within a few days, otherwise Raphinha will have to shoulder the entire striker burden. If the Brazilian player gets injured, it could be a real crisis for Barcelona.

The Torres deal has turned out to be a very effective signing that has brought an immediate change of the situation in PSG as he became the saviour of their clash with Rennes. What made this very remarkable is that fact that he came from the bench to share the points with Rennes scoring two goals in a classic performance. I don't also believe that there won't be a side effect on the Barcelona team all season long. Torres is a good player but it seems PSG is going to give his a good platform to express his full potential. Let me say that his deal favoured the entire party, Barcelona, PSG and Ferran Torres too. But Barcelona may miss him when the season becomes heated and Raphinha starts needing a rest.

Nuno Mendes did not play in the last game because he is suspended. He got a red card after he elbowed a player in the Trophée des Champions match against RC Lens. The Portuguese player remains the first choice considering his quality. I don't think Luis Enrique will keep Mendes on the bench because of Digne. He is one of the best left-backs in the world and deserves a first-team spot. A top club like PSG would have to have many players in a position because they are playing in different competitions.

Monaco has a similar philosophy to that of Borussia Dortmund, finding very good, quality players and instead of investing in them over time, they resell them as soon as they become strong enough to be requested by more teams so as to make money, they should focus a little more on their talents if they want to compete rather than selling them.
It's almost similar, but not exactly the same, as Borussia Dortmund is more interested in finding cheap players to polish into expensive ones, having already honed their talents. Monaco, on the other hand, is a bit different, as the players they've sold to other teams are still inferior to the players Borussia Dortmund has sold. So, it's a bit different, though somewhat similar, because Monaco is also struggling to compete fiercely in Ligue1, but because their ability isn't as superior as PSG, Monaco often lags behind in Ligue1.

I share the same thoughts and I'm of the opinion that he was just brought in to serve as a good squad player and will get game time during second half to maintain the shape of games. Lucas Digne as well who we can say was consistent for Aston Villa. The President promised during the Champions League press conference he was going to bring in fresh players and he has done that quite well. They're still in close talks to sell Bradley Barcola to Liverpool, I'm optimistic about the deal happening this week. They have signed in players which means he has to go because he wants enough game time.

Ferran Torres’ performance was truly impressive when PSG faced Rennes. He really made a splash early in the season by scoring two crucial goals for PSG in that match. And even more surprisingly Torres was a player who had just been brought in during the second half, where it made his performance in that match all the more impressive. I personally thought that Torres would need a lot of time to adapt his playing style to his new team at PSG. But it seems he has already blended in very well with the squad which has embraced him as one of their own. In that match he also received a high rating of 8.3 higher than Fabian Ruiz. And that’s an excellent rating considering he’s just started his new career with one of the greatest teams in the world. I think in upcoming matches Ferran Torres will be able to deliver his best performance with PSG to make a positive impact on their points total.

No one could have predicted this score before the match. Paris Saint-Germain was, of course, the favorite by many. Furthermore, the betting odds were quite low, and everyone clearly thought Paris Saint-Germain would easily win. However, this changed as soon as the match started. Rennes fought very well and went into halftime with a lead. Moreover, they managed to score two goals against a team like Paris Saint-Germain. After these goals, Paris Saint-Germain began to change their tactics and, with the help of their tired defenders in the final minutes, became effective in attack and scored two goals. The draw is disappointing for Paris Saint-Germain, but for Rennes, it's good news that they earned a point against a tough opponent.

I think that Paris Saint-Germain made the same mistake that caused them to lose the cup against Lens, namely that of entering the pitch underestimating their opponent and not showing the right respect to their rivals. This meant that they lost the cup against Lens and drew the first match of the championship against Rennes, who deserved even more than a draw.

this is just to confuse people, who would thought Paris Saint Germain would play draw with such team on their first match of the new season, this is exactly how they will keep playing then at last you will see them lift the trophy, so annoying, had it been these teams will take it up to themselves to hold them down, at least make the league look a bit more interesting and competitive rather than letting just one particular team dominate year in year out, it's really annoying, anyways let's see how this season will end, who knows they might rewrite the story this season.

All teams can have ups and downs, a championship can start off well or off to a bad start. In this case, Paris Saint-Germain did not start the championship very well, choosing a less cautious and more scruffy approach. In fact, he played a match that he even deserved to lose, but which in the end, thanks to the new signing, he managed to draw.

~
Seems this last match made Luiz Enrique to be mad at Dembele because it’s all over the news that he wasn’t happy with the French attacker’s performance.
There is nothing wrong in Luis Enrique's getting mad at the players, as the starting frontline of Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Désiré Doué produced an entirely uneventful first half. PSG was behind by two goals and there is nothing much of an offensive in the first half. There is nothing wrong in the manager substituting both Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia as they did not perform. The introduction of Ferran Torres and Mika Godts completely changed the tactical dynamic of the match, and Torres saved the day by scoring two crucial goals.

In as much as I'm not rooting for Paris Saint German to win the France Ligue 1 this season, doesn't mean I don't like them, I'm a big fans of the club, I'm only saying these other teams should step up their game to at least make the league look more interesting, that's why I'm not rooting for them this season, but despite that I will still drop my opinion on the team activities, to me that was the best choice made by Luis Enrique for that match, and at last he was vindicated by that sub, they should let him have his way at that team because he's done what many failed to do for them, so they should respect his decision.

Because the level of play in this team is very high, when players don't play well, it's immediately noticeable and they get criticized. It's normal for players to play like this at times because it can be difficult to perform at your best in every match. PSG has a very diverse squad, and therefore the manager's moves influenced the game.

I don't think there will be a team that will challenge PSG in the league, but I can't be entirely sure. PSG may need to take the league more seriously because if they drop points consecutively, they could find themselves in a position they never expected.

My concerns finally came true, and the match ended in a draw. Mendes has become one of the key players in PSG’s lineup, and he provides defensive balance when Hakimi pushes forward to support the attacking players and break through the opposition’s defense. His absence was clearly a major setback because Lucas Hernandez was expected to replace Mendes, but his contribution turned out to be below our expectations. This is now making me hesitant to bet on PSG to win when they play away.

I think Mendes is the best full-back in the world at the moment, and to have a complete player for that role. Impressive speed, an explosive standing start, a balanced ability in the offensive and defensive phases, with an excellent shot and with an uncommon footballing intelligence.

This is really common with teams that recently have won a lot, teams like these get drowned in their over confidence alot to an extent they forget to respect their opponents and because of that they give alot of diasappointments. But this doesn’t change their form, i believe PSG will easily retaliate from this and will start taking every game after these seriously. These games are just a wake-up call for a team and after that it is easier for the teams to regain their form, if they become serious enough.

Did actually made a mistake by letting Ousmane Dembele go, because when he left the club discovered Lamine Yamal who I wouldn’t need to describe his impact to Barcelona to you because it’s  visible, plus wasn’t Demeble always injured at Barcelona and that’s the major reason they got him sold. I don’t understand why when a team sells a player you fans comes up after few performances and question the club that sold him without looking at his abilities at the previous club. Ferran Torres has been in Barcelona for how many years and yet every year is just listed among potentials and not the finish player yet and this to me warrant a sale, so no matter what they do it was a good decision to offload him. The only place where it will be a mistake will be when Barcelona fails to sign the right striker.

As for PSG, this simply just fatigue that is affecting the players an nothing more and personally I think they would still win the league by the end of the season because the squad it self is wide ahead of any Ligue 1 players

Dembélé didn't have a happy period in Barcelona because one, he didnt have the mind to play the football he needed, because he spent his days playing football and sleeping little, from what the news said, often arriving late for training, therefore disrespecting a club like Barcelona who chose to buy you, something that instead completely changed once he joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Now we can see his professionalism, so much so that it earned him a Ballon d'Or.n Grin

But how is it that PSG will have this form but are starting very badly this season, they're supposed to be doing better than this results, although I'm not worried about them on there league because is certain they would be at the top before ten matches but however Enrique should try his best for the club to peak before the starting of champions League because that's were they cannot afford all this possession and losing at the end. Ferran Torres has saved them from Rennes otherwise they wouldn't have gotten any point on the match because by 63 minutes Rennes was still leading them with 2 goals.

It seems to me that in the last two years when PSG won the Champions League, they didn’t play particularly well in the group stage. In the first season when they became champions, they were actually fighting to qualify from the group in the final matches. Last season, things were a little better, but that’s just how things have gone for them in the Champions League.

In Ligue 1, I also think the competition will be much lower for them. Although so far, I like the way Lens are playing, maybe they will be able to compete with PSG again this season.

Lens competition with PSG was very interesting last season. For a long time, we didn’t see any team that would create a good competition for PSG in Ligue 1. Lens challenged them for the league title last season, but their performance wasn’t enough to stop the French giants from winning the league. I was surprised when Lens won the Super Cup, they were down to 10 men since the first half of the match, but they managed to maintain the lead.

PSG seems to be having a tough time with their performance. Rennes repeated the same thing they did last season, but it was a draw this season. Rennes beat PSG 3-1 last season in the first meeting of the season, and this season they draw with them in first game of the season. We cannot say if this is a sign that they will win the Champions League again this season.

That left flank is just expose, once Hakimi push forward on the right, they have zero recovery pace on the other side to deal with the counter attacks which Nuno Mendes account for, Rennes noticed and use it to their advantage. Anyone will have to think twice before placing a bet on PSG especially on away games, unless they find a way out of this left back mess.

Mendes has always been amazing everything on the pitch, it's difficult to replace him, no one can do what he does. Rennes played an excellent game and managed to stop Paris Saint-Germain, it's not easy, of course we're still on the first day though and it's a good start for them.
Paris Saint-Germain doesn't make many mistakes and we'll see what happens in the next matches.

I thought PSG would lose after falling behind 2-0 in the first half. They were in complete disarray. The defense was sluggish, allowing Rennes players to easily break through because they were slow to close down the space. Fortunately, Luis Enrique quickly read the situation and made immediate substitutions at the start of the second half. The impact was immediate, PSG play began to find its shape.
Ferran Torres saved PSG from defeat with two goals in the 71st and 82nd minutes. It also marked a brilliant debut with his new club. I don't want to jump to conclusions just yet. The result of the first match cannot be used to gauge their chances of retaining the UCL trophy. There is still a long way to go. Let's see how they fare in the next few matches.

Paris Saint-Germain must thank the new signing Ferran from Barcelona in every way, because thanks to him they avoided a resounding defeat by their rivals Rennes, who certainly deserved a little more than the Parisians, who faced a subpar match and with little desire to bring home the result.

Indeed it was as you predicted. PSG without Mendes there was too much opening in the defense not even Lucas Hernandez could cover that gap because Rennes attackers had their way to penetrate into the box of PSG without fear of nobody stopping them but PSG survived yet the game because of the level of force and attacks they mounted on their opponent I believe the coach of PSG will have to caution Mendes this time because if he is sent of again then PSG will have to deal with any outcome they will get because it seems down of the teams in the league is getting tired of their dominance and they want to punish them this season by tight them very hard.

Mendes is fundamental as a player and we also saw this at the World Cup with Portugal. When he left, Portugal's squad completely went haywire against Spain and this took them out of the World Cup. So it has the same importance with Paris Saint-Germain. He is a player who is irreplaceable in terms of quality, there are no players similar to his characteristics.

I also don’t want to immediately judge PSG as having a bad season just because they got disappointing results at the start of the season, since they are a team with good squad depth. Of course, sometimes disappointing results can be the first step to keep evaluating and becoming even stronger. This could be seen when PSG won 2 UCL trophies even in the group stage, they had bad results and even had to go through the playoff round to reach the round of 16. What I mean is that PSG having a bad result in the first match can sometimes become motivation and even make them stronger, especially since the draw they got against Rennes was also very impressive. They conceded 2 goals first but then bounced back to make the score 2-2.

It looked like Rennes would take home all three points, especially after leading 2-0, but PSG came back with Ferran Torres scoring twice. While PSG did drop points in their league opener and got off to a disappointing start, I think they’ll learn a lot from that first match. Ferran Torres García debut was a highlight he didn’t just score he rescued the team from defeat. He came on for Dembele in the 46th minute and made an immediate positive impact.
