That left flank is just expose, once Hakimi push forward on the right, they have zero recovery pace on the other side to deal with the counter attacks which Nuno Mendes account for, Rennes noticed and use it to their advantage. Anyone will have to think twice before placing a bet on PSG especially on away games, unless they find a way out of this left back mess.

Mendes has always been amazing everything on the pitch, it's difficult to replace him, no one can do what he does. Rennes played an excellent game and managed to stop Paris Saint-Germain, it's not easy, of course we're still on the first day though and it's a good start for them.
Paris Saint-Germain doesn't make many mistakes and we'll see what happens in the next matches.
If Rennes had continued their attacking play in the second half, Rennes' chances of winning would have been even better. Because Rennes were leading 2-0 at the start, if they had continued their attacking performance and continued to attack more in the second half, the result of the match could have been a little different. However, Ferran Torres played really well in the match. And at the same time, Fabián Ruiz helped Ferran Torres the most in attack, because Fabián Ruiz had both assists in those two goals. .
However, as always, I think PSG will win the title.

Counter-attacks seem to be the strategy to subdue PSG. Rennes were good at finding spaces to penetrate the defense of the defending champions before their defenders recovered after overlapping runs. After the two first-half goals, I thought PSG would be handed their first defeat this season. However, we saw the never-die belief of PSG in the second half. Fabian Ruiz was outstanding in the game, providing two assists for his countryman. Substitute Ferran Torres became the third player after Patrick Mboma and Zlatan Ibrahimović to score a brace on his debut. Losing a key player like Mendes might have affected the club since he has been a consistent first-team player. Lucas Hernandez didn't perform badly as he made seven clearances, committed no fouls, and had about 91% pass accuracy.

Rennes played a good game and made the most of their opportunities. Paris Saint-Germain risked losing the first half, but in the second half they gave everything and they managed to draw the match. Fabian Ruiz was amazing and we know him very well. Ferran Torres has Fabian Ruiz to thank for the assist he gave him. Lucas Hernandez also performed well, he can still improve.

PSG really messed up in the first half of the game by conceding two goals before the close of the first half. They have won only one out of last five games which is quite disappointing for the UCL Champions, this season has not really being a good start for them so far.

But this is just the start of the season though, so it's still too early to decide how the rest of the season would be. PSG would find it so difficult to win the Champions league this season as other clubs are showing so much momentum to the start of the season.

Let's say that Paris Saint-Germain should have a moment more control during the matches, because not being able to win the last matches and still suffering to win the one against Aston Villa is a clear sign of a problem that absolutely should not be reduced to size. You have to be aware that they are not playing well and that there could be something wrong within the team. They absolutely must solve these internal problems.

It wasn't really about Ferran Torres, the fact is, Paris Saint-Germain were simply too strong for Rennes to beat. Even if Ferran Torres were not there, I am confident that Luis Enrique's squad still wouldn't lose. I think Rennes were lucky not to lose all the points in the match. By the way, I just realized that Ferran Torres is now playing for Paris Saint-Germain.

Of course, if you play a match between Paris Saint-Germain and Rennes in different circumstances Paris Saint-Germain would probably win it for sure. However, the match that ended in a draw, without Ferran, would have ended in defeat for the Parisians. Because they never really got into the game, despite having possession of the ball, and they never made themselves particularly dangerous, while Rennes knew how to play the game that needed to be played.

Lens competition with PSG was very interesting last season. For a long time, we didn’t see any team that would create a good competition for PSG in Ligue 1. Lens challenged them for the league title last season, but their performance wasn’t enough to stop the French giants from winning the league. I was surprised when Lens won the Super Cup, they were down to 10 men since the first half of the match, but they managed to maintain the lead.

PSG seems to be having a tough time with their performance. Rennes repeated the same thing they did last season, but it was a draw this season. Rennes beat PSG 3-1 last season in the first meeting of the season, and this season they draw with them in first game of the season. We cannot say if this is a sign that they will win the Champions League again this season.
If PSG drops points or loses again in their next match against Lille, then I think we can say PSG is going through some kind of crisis. But for now, I see it as just bad luck in the Super Cup match, even though they should have won. And the same thing happened against Rennes, they needed to play better defensively, and they could have won that match, but they were unlucky. Lille by the way, is a very strong opponent, and this match will be indicative of PSG's current form.

One thing about football is that when a strong team losses a game or draw people feel it shouldn't supposed to happen, if we expect big teams to keep winning matches with out a loss or draw the game wouldn't be interested any more. Paris saint Germain is the club dominating the french football in all competition across the country, despite they lost to RC Lens in the Trophee Des champions they are still top among the club that have won this trophy the most, again even if Paris saint Germain still loss to Lille we can't rule it that the team is going through some crises it could just be a bad day also because at the end of everything Paris saint Germain will still win the Ligue 1 trophy.

PSG are off course my top favourites to win the Champions League competition followed by Barcelona, Arsenal and Real Madrid. It has always been my top four ranking for who wins it come may June next year.
Nuno Mendes could still be the  number one choice as much as he remains fit. They have just Digne for squad depth and if Nuno Mendes happens to be out injured. Whoever plays in the Champions League fixtures and League 1 should be on the manager. They can still play together with Nuno Mendes at times deployed to play in midfield. Their next game against Lillie, what will be the possible outcome of that game if they don't sit up?!

It is a ranking that i respect and it is also a possible ranking, but i don't agree because i don't believe that Paris Saint-Germain will be able to win the Champions League this year. Maybe due to an ego problem or perhaps due to lack of attention or too high expectations, but i think they will make a misstep; i think that the team that will succeed this year will be Bayern Munich or Barcelona.

Not at all. For PSG, the main goal of the season is the Champions League, so they plan to peak in shape much later in the season and do not have to worry about Ligue 1 at all, since they have the title in their pocket. However, I don't expect PSG to drop points for the third game in a row, so I'll definitely bet on them in the next game, and the odds look attractive:

4.50 - 3.90 - 1.73

+73% for a simple PSG win over anyone in Ligue 1? Pfft, I'm definitely betting on it.

Ferran Torres made his official debut for Paris Saint-Germain and had a fantastic start, scoring two goals. Rennes started very well against Paris Saint-Germain and unexpectedly took the lead. They then held onto it until the final minutes, but couldn't prevent Paris Saint-Germain from scoring. However, I don't think they're upset about the draw. Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, need to prepare better for their next matches. They want to win the Champions League for the third time, and a match like this won't achieve that.

Ferran made the best debut he could have wished for, but still i don't think he will become a regular player. For this reason, perhaps if i had been in his place i would have stayed at Barcelona. Then it is also true that if Paris Saint-Germain calls you you cannot remain indifferent. Paris Saint-Germain played a questionable game, they will certainly aim for the Champions League, but i don't think they will be able to get it this year too. Cheesy

From what I saw in the game the absence of Mendes brought so much opening to the defense line of PSG I doubt if Rennes would have scored up to two goals if he was in the game because he would have held the defense very well. PSG wouldn't have conceded two goals may be they would have won the game by 1:2 but the point here is that the two goals happened because there was nobody to defend properly like the play that was absent that's my point.

Mendes is the first choice if the coach decides to rest him that will be when they have an important match but if he is fit to play he will be playing both in the League and champions League but the coach cdn decide to substitute him when they are in good advantage.

I have always said that Mendes is a formidable player. He is a player who really makes the difference with his qualities. He runs at his best for the entire ninety minutes, back and forth on that flank, providing assists with an excellent shot and excellent dribbling qualities.

A truly formidable player. But it is clear that Ferran saved Paris Saint-Germain from the 3 points of defeat. We'll see over the course of the season if they start him.

The season has only just begun, only one match has been played. So I don't think Luis Enrique has any reason to be disappointed right now. He himself probably knows that it would be wrong to expect to win every match, that sometimes you have to accept defeat. The first match of the season is always difficult, whether it is against a small team or a big team. We can't call Rennes a weak team in any way, PSG is a good team, but in the first match of the season, Rennes is also a good team like PSG and is the favorite to win.

It is true that the strikers in the starting XI could not do anything good and could not perform well. There is nothing to be controversial about that, players will not play well in every match. It is normal for performance to improve and deteriorate.

Disappointed is a speech i wouldn't use. Perhaps more worried, because in any case Paris Saint-Germain hasn't brought home a victory in the last few games and for the type of team they have it's not one of the best results. Having drawn with the risk of losing against Rennes too, the players should do some soul searching, because it is true that it is only the beginning of the championship, there is plenty of time to recover, but there is also a need to start doing so.

Did actually made a mistake by letting Ousmane Dembele go, because when he left the club discovered Lamine Yamal who I wouldn’t need to describe his impact to Barcelona to you because it’s  visible, plus wasn’t Demeble always injured at Barcelona and that’s the major reason they got him sold. I don’t understand why when a team sells a player you fans comes up after few performances and question the club that sold him without looking at his abilities at the previous club. Ferran Torres has been in Barcelona for how many years and yet every year is just listed among potentials and not the finish player yet and this to me warrant a sale, so no matter what they do it was a good decision to offload him. The only place where it will be a mistake will be when Barcelona fails to sign the right striker.

As for PSG, this simply just fatigue that is affecting the players an nothing more and personally I think they would still win the league by the end of the season because the squad it self is wide ahead of any Ligue 1 players

Dembélé didn't have a happy period in Barcelona because one, he didnt have the mind to play the football he needed, because he spent his days playing football and sleeping little, from what the news said, often arriving late for training, therefore disrespecting a club like Barcelona who chose to buy you, something that instead completely changed once he joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Now we can see his professionalism, so much so that it earned him a Ballon d'Or.n Grin
No I don’t think the reason for Dembele not performing well at Barça is because of discipline, though I’ve not confirmed this information. I know for one his multiple injuries reduced his performances and he wasn’t able to play to his best and most of the time his productivity was below expectations, a lot of missed chances but during Xavi’s time he started rising and eventually left and continued that trajectory.

His time at PSG right now, he’s more disciplined and focused and he’s actually more strong and consistent now.
P/S: The Spanish League is actually stronger than the French League.

The season is just getting started and it's just the first match of the season, Rennes should've held their own and take all 3 points but they couldn't seize the opportunity and they allowed PSG back into the game, this kind of opportunities are very rare to come by especially when playing against a team like PSG.

And here in fact you can see the mental difference in the various players. There are players who are even stronger in football terms than Ferran, who started but had their heads in the clouds and were almost not seen on the pitch. In fact, from there came the coach's decision to replace them and once he put Ferran on the field, a player who comes from the confidence of having scored the goal that brought the World Cup to Spain and with his entry he turned the game on its head and managed to equalize it.

This too is my thoughts. PSG has tasted the champions League title and it's very interesting to them, they can't stop dreaming about winning it the third time consecutively. Their quest for champions League may affect their league games very much or could make them struggle too much in the league. Leaving Mendes for champions League games is good but they should be careful not to loose the two titles at the end. They now have serious contenders in the league as Lens will use every opportunity to top the league as it will be their major title chase for the season. PSG next game will be against LOSC away which will even be a tougher game for them. Enrique should concentrate on every game as it comes instead of allowing their champions League quest to take their position in the league. I still haven't understood this PSG team this season but I believe they will come back to form soon.

We must always remember that those who want too much get nothing. They should have more wisdom in a certain sense, so he will be able to think about what the championship is, to cut his strength for the Ligue 1 matches and then when it starts he will also think about the Champions League, thinking about it obsessively would be a serious mistake.

There is nothing wrong in Luis Enrique's getting mad at the players, as the starting frontline of Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Désiré Doué produced an entirely uneventful first half. PSG was behind by two goals and there is nothing much of an offensive in the first half. There is nothing wrong in the manager substituting both Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia as they did not perform. The introduction of Ferran Torres and Mika Godts completely changed the tactical dynamic of the match, and Torres saved the day by scoring two crucial goals.

Sometimes it seems like players think a little too much with their heads and sometimes that's not the way things should be. When you play for such an important club you always have to give your best. There are no matches that you should underestimate and others less so. Because in this way you only make yourself more self-centered without actually bringing home results. So Luis Enrique was absolutely right to make those changes which then turned the result around, guaranteeing them a draw which didn't cost them three points.

But don't be so sure that PSG won't win, I still think PSG will go into the game aiming for their third consecutive Champions League title and they are not a team to accept defeat so easily. They won't be at the top of the table, but they will be the strongest contenders to win the title. Last season, they knocked out Bayern Munich in the semi-finals with a very good performance. And they will do the same this season. When PSG play such a serious match, their performance completely changes, they often lose against weak teams, but when a match is a knockout match for their title, it is very difficult to beat them, and they can defeat even strong teams.

Exactly. This is also what I saw happen in PSG first match against Ranner. It seems Luis Enrique really has very high standards and is building the team. For him, all players have to give 100% from the first minute, and if a player doesn't perform at their best, they will definitely be taken off, regardless of their status or how big the player's name is.

During the match against Rennes, Dembele really performed poorly in the first half, and Enrique then made the decision to replace Dembele with Ferran Torres, who was actually able to score 2 goals to help PSG equalize. Even though Dembele felt he could still play in the second half, Enrique knew what needed to be done so the team could catch up from being two goals down against Rennes.

Indeed, the substitution of Dembele in the second half of PSG first match against Rennes left a lot of questions, and even the media reported some bad news about Dembele and Enrique. But I think PSG players will respect what Enrique does. PSG started the season not so well, but they are still confident that in the next matches they will get perfect points, and Enrique's focus right now is on facing Lille.

What’s even the essence of having a team of those players when you can not be able to use them freely. It does not make any sense to me. The substitution he did changing dembele and also bringing the likes of Ferran Torres was the best decision required of him to see the needed results which came to past . If Ferran Torres had not entered the match, they would have just ended it with a defeat which would be shameful for their outing but at least thing .

From what I've seen, Paris Saint-Germain shows more consistency and strength towards the end of the league season. They might have some surprising bad results early in the season, but they compensate for these poor results with consecutive successes. The Champions League draw was held today, and the fixtures are ready. They will face eight tough matches in their quest to win the trophy for the third time. At the end of these matches, they will again try to finish top of the league. They will play two Champions League matches against Manchester City and Barcelona that will be like finals. I'm sure these matches will provide us with many exciting and enjoyable moments. In France, with their rotated squad, Paris Saint-Germain can also reach the top. Their current squad is sufficient for both.

I don't see anything wrong with a team that's just been competitive and ambitious to win more titles because it's clearly stated out. They've been superb in the past two seasons and winning the UEFEA Champions League trophy back to back also proven their dominance in UEFEA and on other top phases. PSG are not underestimate this season because they're coming in as defending champion and any opposition that faces them have lower chances of winning following the odds on wager and their current form.

PSG are yet to impress me this season and I don't know what's going on with the players and the manager but they're just yet to pick their side, I see them struggling to win games and their last game, it was Ferran Torres that came off the bench and scored a brace that let to them sharing points. They have to step up if they're very confident on winning the UEFEA Champions League trophy third time in a row this season.
