Hello to all. Why are "old people" referred to the category of people who need to be explained something. The older generation, at least in the vastness of the former Soviet Union, having a secondary education, knows a lot more than some graduates of today's higher educational institutions. I think that on this forum, more than half of young people hardly understand Bitcoin - they only use simple preferences that cryptocurrency gives. Do you think an old man needs to understand a lot about Bitcoin? He just needs to explain the advantages of cryptocurrency, and old people will figure out the technique of handling cryptocurrency faster than a schoolboy.
Because people have the notion that most old people don't know how to understand new technology, and crypto is one of them. But sometimes the reason why they don't care is because they are already happy for what they have. They don't care anymore about advancements in technology. So it is really hard to explain to them if they are not willing to adopt it. But if they will try to understand, they surely can. It is more on they are already happy in what they have. These people or the Old people mostly easy to be happy, their desire becomes more little that they can adopt what they already had and not looking for another one. I have already experienced that with my grannies ,and that is why OLD people is not interested in crypto.

Even if you want to, you can't teach old people a lot at once. If you want to work with old people, you have to work step by step. You can give them knowledge about these things first. Why Bitcoin was first created?. What is the purpose of making bitcoin?. How does Bitcoin work?. You worked with a great purpose so good luck to you.

I think they don't mean it that way. I also know old people are really intellectuals, its just that the topic is about technology, and I don't know but in my case, almost all the old people I've known are not really good with technology. They are all so good with life and other things they specialize but when it comes to new technology, they are lacking information. You also have to understand that newer technology are really hard for them to understand especially if they grew up without technology, and throughout their life they focus on just one specialization, their work for example. Well some old people are good in technology cause they are into development pr in the industry of the technology, but some are into other industries. Some kids are good in technology cause they grew up with all the technologies around them, and when you are growing up, its easy to learn all the things in life, language for example. Old people I know doesn't even own a phone, and try to compare it to every kid nowadays that own an iphone or an android. See the difference? It doesn't mean old people are people who need to be explained something, its just that the talk is about a technology. So it will be hard to explain this technology to an old people who doesn't even know its way to a high tech phone, or a computer, or an android one.

I'm looking for the easiest way to make old people understand Bitcoin more thoroughly. I want to let the elderly know about the "Bitcoin revolution", yet I find it quite challenging to explain it to them in a way they can understand how it all works. There are some wallets that have a "user-friendly" interface, but even the basics of sending/receiving Bitcoin can have a steep learning curve for the older people. A Bitcoin wallet with built-in accessibility features, could help even elder people with vision or hearing problems to use the pioneer cryptocurrency in their daily lives. If you happen to know of a way to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. When it comes to sharing your bitcoin knowledge to elder you can't really just teach them what bitcoin is. I think the best way to share it with your elder is to help them to experience bitcoin and actually use it. If they already know how to use bitcoin or they are already using bitcoin everything is just gonna be easy for them to understand. And for they will be the one that is going to be curios in bitcoin technology and make their own research about it. Bitcoin adaptation is just the key so that people are going to use and understand bitcoin. For use, old people are not used to technology but they are going to be interested bitcoin because of how it works.

Over time the millennial generation will replace the role of parents, so I think explaining to parents about bitcoin is currently not very important either. Honestly, my own parents are not working because I asked them to rest and enjoy retirement and also, they don't fully hold the money because other needs and expenses have been replaced by the role of their children. So what's the point in explaining Bitcoin to parents who basically have to rest to enjoy old age or retirement.

Since you are targeting an old people it's better to have an old one to explain this to these old people because they understand each other's language, you can pick one older guy to train him one on one to teach old people, you can hire him or pay him to teach other old people, the old guy that you are teaching, should have his own module suited for old people.

People are different than one another and most of the seniour citizens do not want to learn new things like that. So,Here is a suggestion, let not try to make them understand about the bitcoin.Just increase their curiosity,Sending the link with an attached thumbnail like, earn money at online Or something that they are interested. It will help you probably to understand them about the bitcoin.
They are old. I don't think they would be attracted to something that would earn themselves money. Remember, most of these people have their money out of retirement and they are just having fun with what they can do in their house or with their family. I think it would interest them if we could make them understand the convinience they'll have using it, if they are gambling we can interest them to use it in an online casino, something like that.

Actually it's not easy to make people understand about Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is quite complicated. Moreover, people who really do not understand technology, definitely more difficult to understand about Bitcoin. Even I, who is still young and understands about technology, it took several months to fully understand Bitcoin. It must be that old people over 50 years of age have a harder time understanding Bitcoin. To be able to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, we can start by comparing Bitcoin with real fiat or gold, which is better known by old people. Once they understand, we can explain how to buy and sell Bitcoin. And most importantly, explain gradually, because we know that old people has a weaker grasp of understanding something.
Exactly. Bitcoin is still complicated to use, despite many wallets having a user-friendly interface. If you want to use crypto in your daily life, you'd need to have some sort of technical knowledge to be able to dominate the subject. The fact that Bitcoin transactions are conducted via electronic devices, could make old people's lives quite challenging. After all, most of them aren't accustomed to the latest technologies. I've seen many old people still using featurephones on top of smartphones, and even some of them don't know how to use a computer. These limitations will make it practically impossible for old people to join the crypto train. Bitcoin is more suited for young people, than anything else. Of course, if an old person knows his/her way through electronic devices, it'll be easy to introduce Bitcoin to them. Sending/receiving BTC transactions is easy if you know how to input or scan public keys/addresses on the Blockchain. The fee costs and other technical stuff are basically handled by wallets themselves. Ultimately, future generations will embrace Bitcoin in every way. Old people will continue to use Fiat for daily payments as it's extremely easy to use. Not to mention, Fiat currencies are stable and backed by the government. That's not the case with crypto, which leads to loss of confidence in it. With so many educational materials available either on the web or physically, it's easy enough for anyone to understand how Bitcoin works and how to use it for daily payments. It will depend on the person's dedication to the subject than anything else. Just my thoughts

The development of technology is very rapid and our old people don't keep up with it. But there are those among them who quickly grasp and learn to use certain innovations. Even in one family, a grandmother easily handles a smartphone, calls, sends messages, uses social networks, and a grandfather doesn't even know how to unblock it. The same situation with cryptocurrencies and bitcoin in particular. One old man will quickly understand what it is and how to use it, while another will not even want to listen. But this is their right. I think it's still worth educating the younger generation more.

The thing with older people or at least most people from any preceding generation is always that people find it difficult to accept change or learn about newer ways of doing something. ( a case of why change something if it's not broken thinking). As with any of the newer technologies most people of older generations have always struggled to adapt. Think about things such as email/ Mobile banking/online shopping etc and you will find most older people are still not proficient enough to do this largely because they do not trust these things enough or have not willing to educate themselves about these things. I mean i still often have to help my parents with things like online shopping while my grandparents just don't trust the concept and prefer to only buy things directly from a brick and mortar store because of a lack of trust in making online purchases. So IMO most older people ( not all of course) will not bother about learning to use something new as long as they can still use their tried and trusted methods first. And even then the interfaces for using Bitcoins need to get way simpler for them to use.

It's hard to tell what bitcoin is especially to parents, I explain it to my own friend they don't understand at all but the shortest thing if we are asked by people what it is bitcoin, I answered digital currency and they can understood
Elders probably already know what bitcoin is, since bitcoin have became a headline for a hundred times in some news articles. The problem is it will be difficult for them to understand it. In my country, there are news where bitcoin have been used in illegal things like scam investment so they have wrong misconception to this.

It all depends on the age of the parents, because the ability to think in understanding explanations is difficult to understand because of the age factor that is no longer young. Introducing bitcoin personally to my parents, only introducing what bitcoin is and not explained in detail because it will confuse them because it is very old, because most of my income comes from bitcoin or cryptocurrency and makes them curious which I finally tell. I prefer to tell or explain bitcoin to my relatives or friends and finally they survived and enjoyed until now.

I don't have a readymade answer for this. My father is 78-years old and I have been teaching him how to use a smartphone for the last 4-5 years. And even after all these years, he can only do the most basic tasks on his own. I have given up teaching and I guess he will be OK with whatever knowledge he is having. When it is so difficult for the old people to learn even the basic technology, I don't know how you guys are expecting them to understand complex technology such as cryptocurrency and Blockchain.

I have a thoughts that it would be difficult for old people to understand this technology knowing that this innovation contains a lot of sophisticated system. Though there are numerous of old people can easily to adapt but still majority of them were not. As a matter of fact most of them having a hard time to deal with this new innovation. Apparently, teaching it to young ones would be much better because they are the future.

It won't be easy because many of them are still behind, what i mean is ,many of then doesn't know modern technology and how to use it. The easiest way i think is to teach them one by one or let their love ones teach them so that they can understand it. Also in teaching them avoid to introduce bitcoin in a complicated way. Just make it simple so that old people can understand.
