Tutorial videos will make them Bored mate, remember that Older people are impatience and we cannot let them Seat infront of laptop watchign videos.

i believe that what we need to do is encourage them personally ,let them learn by our convincing power.
make them understand that this is beneficial for them since they are only expecting their  government support and the allowance from their pensions .

They need more time physically and mentally mate and not just video streaming.
Old people do not trust new technologies, they are very careful about everything new. It is very important that the person himself wants to figure out how it works. Then it will be possible to use training videos as one of the sources for learning. The most important thing is that they understand what it is and how it can change their lives.

It's easy, just spoonfeed those basic knowledges about cryptocurrency but since the loss of memory is common for old people, it will be difficult. I doubt that even old people understand anything about bitcoin, they will still prefer fiat for their daily routine.

They will always prefer traditional ways because they treat advanced technology nowadays as a complex thing, that's why they wouldn't adopt this kind of technology.
Hello friend, what you ask is very interesting and there are many ways to teach them, but the most essential is with tutorial videos, there are many on the internet and very easy to learn, the other way is to put them into practice with real life examples making comparisons.
Tutorial videos are complicated things, it will just stress them out because they wouldn't understand any single word.

The first thing we need to have to learn something whether its old or not is the will, we need to have the will to really learn it in the first place because if we were gonna force ourselves to learn it but we don't really like it then its gonna be a very rough road. So about the old people learning bitcoin, obviously first educate them about bitcoin and its structure and also talk about the whole cryptocurrency itself just like we educate newbies but the difference is we need to guide elderly for they will have hard time learning by themselves and after that of course introduce them to a exchange site where they will store their bitcoins and the first thing we need to simplify is the UI or the things that they will see to navigate and manage their bitcoin, it needs to be plain and simple and for me having a tutorial that they can watch whenever they want is a very big help because once they forgot about how to use the exchange site they're using, I don't know if we still need to talk them about deeper stuff in cryptocurrency world but if I were to decide I'll just teach them to the level where they can trade by themselves and decide for themselves what will they do to their bitcoins, I won't get deeper with using hard wallets or anything because old people cannot handle a lot information well because of their age.

I have explained bitcoin to many people, old or young doesn't matter they are the same. some might understand it easily and some might not. what i do is i just tell them the basic and then i give him some link to an article or video that explain Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency and the technology. if they really want to learn it and have something that they don't understand they will ask you some questions.

How would you explain to old people how transaction cost is calculated? With banks, it is more or less clear to them that transaction fee is a constant, no matter what amount you are sending. Or it might change if the transaction is to abroad bank that does not have friendly correspondent bank with their bank. Look, even this aspect is hard to understand for some old people. And I'm not saying that transaction fees are different if they make 5 or 1005 transactions per month (just an example).

But how would you explain to them about imputs, outputs, the size of your transaction, mempool and the fact that a change address might appear in their transaction chain?

Its really not so easy as we could imagine opening a conversation with the oldies about Bitcoin features and they will be having a hard time to understand because they used to be so conservative in so many ways and definitely they are not into digital world. But, maybe we could just ask them first if they are willing to learn about the new method of payments, investment and profits with the use of the highest form of technology. If we could at least catch their interest to learn, then maybe we could start explaining and make them understand in the most easy way possible

I'm looking for the easiest way to make old people understand Bitcoin more thoroughly. I want to let the elderly know about the "Bitcoin revolution", yet I find it quite challenging to explain it to them in a way they can understand how it all works. There are some wallets that have a "user-friendly" interface, but even the basics of sending/receiving Bitcoin can have a steep learning curve for the older people. A Bitcoin wallet with built-in accessibility features, could help even elder people with vision or hearing problems to use the pioneer cryptocurrency in their daily lives.

If you happen to know of a way to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
I guess it is very hard to teach old people regarding bitcoin and on how bitcoin helps peoples financial problem. If we would want them to learn about bitcoins we need to spend longer time and effort in order for them to learn. We need a step by step procedure and make a plan for them to make them easy to know in a very nice way. Old people as we knew are very sensitive maybe because of there age.

It's difficult to teach old people about bitcoin unless they are smart and open to accept new technology. There are still old people that are easily learn new things but not all. So I think introducing them bitcoin should be step by step in an easy way so that they will understand it.

I believe there are many ways we can make old people understand Bitcoin such as:
1) Rules
2) how to read and write
3) personal research
4) hope
5) Trust
1) how to read and write: you can make old people to understand bitcoin by teaching them how to read and write when ever they wanted to post on the platform.
2) Rules : for you to make old people understand bitcoin without stress first of all you have to show them all the rules that guard Bitcoin forum.
3) personal research: you have to make them to understand that before they invest their coins in any cryptocurrencies they need to do personal research to know if they are investing in the right place or wrong.
4) Hope : make them to understand that in the areas of market they have to have hope with bitcoin for them to smile at the end of their transaction.
5) Trust: teach them how to trust any kind of coin they are holding not to fall into the hands of the scammers.

I think the best way to explain Bitcoin to the elderly is simple. Most old people don't understand what bitcoin is, but we know that they are very familiar with gold and think gold is a symbol of wealth. So we can attract their attention with the opening words that bitcoin is gold in the digital world.

The explanation begins with the history of why bitcoin is considered gold and then includes articles or clippings about cryptocurrency from well-known tabloid newspapers and newspaper sites. Then the last explanation is that investing in bitcoin our money will not disappear even though the value fluctuates, and it only needs the patience to wait for its value to rise (unless the internet stopped working or the bitcoin network was abandoned).

Don't forget that parents think that they are more conservative than us, safety is the top priority, not the profit.
The last point could've been added first. Because when one states bitcoin is gold in digital world. Suddenly there arises another question from the elderly, then what's the need of going towards it. We can keep hold of gold itself. Old people always prefer the security/safety than the profit out of it. Maybe new generation elderly people will agree with it, while majority of the elderly just hear it on one ear and leave it through the other ear.

What's the need of a compulsive teaching about bitcoin to the elderly people ?

Heard of this news?

It's not that hard to make them understand what bitcoin is. It's a matter of their interest and it will finally ride and go accordingly.

The question is, do the need to learn in detail about Bitcoin? I have seen a lot of pensioners investing in blue chip funds and treasury bonds, without fully understanding how they works. So why can't the same approach be used for cryptocurrency? All they need to understand is that Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency which was invented in 2008. And they need to know that BTC gave 10 million times returns during the 10-year period from 2010 to 2020.

It's a bad idea teaching old people to use bitcoin. Mostly old people in my country don't know how to use cellphone or computer. But if they knew, what will be in their mind if you introduce bitcoin to them? In news, bitcoin always mention because in our country many investment scam use bitcoin as their mode of payment. Old people always watch news, and if I'll introduce it to them they'll avoid it and think that it is a scam.

Don't try too hard to teach seniors to use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Voluntariness and their desire are important here. Cryptocurrency will gradually be introduced into our world as states legalize it. This process is not that fast and will take a long time. During this period, the old generation will disappear, and the new one will already treat cryptocurrency as ordinary financial means. Therefore, everything will change by itself, so this process should not be accelerated.

There are two sides to it. You can say that the seniors don't understand the concept about cryptocurrency and therefore we don't need to spend our time and effort in educating them about it. But at the same time, it is the elderly investors who fall victim to cryptocurrency scams most of the time. Look at the largest scams in the history of cryptocurrency, such as PlusToken. Seniors represent a large fraction of the victims.

I think it's because the way he thinks is not as good as when he was young, because investing or being an investor in bitcoin or cryptocurrency must really have good insight and understanding and have the ability to think smart.
and that is one of the reasons parents should really know about the risks or other things about bitcoin or cryptocurrency in more detail, and it would be nice to be accompanied by a family of teenagers who are trusted and understand bitcoin well and experienced.

We know that bitcoin is no age requirements what age you are you can do this.
There is many people who is old but they can bitcoin because they understand how does bitcoin work.
You should give them a text or watch them a video about bitcoin to understand it but you need to a lot of patience because there is a chance they did not understand fast because of their age.

I get your point there, it's also better to take time as scammers are just around the corners, and knowing the chances of old people being trapped with their alluring offers are very high.
The concept of sharing your knowledge in regards to this market is different with ages people, you have to take more time and more examples to simplest that they can adopt and understand you.
