Manchester City lost to Aston Villa, making Arsenal top them with 6 points gaps, whereby the league hasn't gone far and there are many matches to play. Looking at the premier league table today, it feels empty like the team who would win the premier league is not there to. 

Manchester City seem to be down a lot in this season. They have worse performances, more instability and they are giving more hope and opportunities to other clubs to take them down in a single match and also take over the Premier League crown.

Last season arsenal used up to a 9-points gap to top Manchester City during the end of the season and later lost to Manchester City for the trophy. My question is, can what happened last season happen this season?
This season will be another time for Pep Guardiola to prove himself as the best coach as he always does when it comes to lifting premier league trophies. As it seems now, Manchester City doesn't appear formidable. Any team can win them if they make up their  city

Other clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal are seriously competing with Manchester City for the league title. Arsenal with a failed attempt in last season surely want to do something better in this season. Liverpool with Klopp is a biggest competitor of Manchester City in recent seasons and they do want to win a second Premier League title with Klopp.

Pep will have lot of works to do with Manchester City as well as with himself to defend the title. Manchester City with their deep player resource will still have big advantage than Arsenal and Liverpool in a long season but they have to be careful.

I was quite impressed with the performance of Aston villa in their match against Manchester city. Not that it was any better than it used to be, but for the simple fact of them scoring and having to hold onto the goal difference until the final whistle.
Manchester city still has better chances of staying on top or even finishing as the winners of the EPL because they have done so before and we all know that once the season is almost nearing the end, competitors will reinforce their squad with new signings and changes to the team that would help those with tired muscles  remain contributory to the success of their individual teams.

I was quite surprised by the performance of the  Manchester City players. I don't  think they will play that badly. The team suddenly lost the truck. After drawing in the last three matches, Manchester City was defeated in this  match.
In this match we only saw the dominance of Aston Villa players. The team  played well in the home match. The performance  of the Manchester City players was very disappointing. I have never seen Manchester City  play with such a  defensive strategy. Manchester  City players made only 2 shots in the entire match. After dropping  points in 4 matches, Manchester City  are now fourth in the points table.

This Villa team won Tottenham at home a few weeks ago.

Although Spurs aren't a reference since they are very instable and fluctuating a lot but I agree that Aston Villa are doing good this season overall. Today's game against Manchester City was another story, it was a very good result for them and shocking one for Manchester City fans and management. Guardiola is witnessing the 4th bad result in a row and the decrease in the ranking for his team.
Gunners won with difficulty their game vs Luton Town and Manchester United made an important victory against Chelsea. They are 3 points away from Manchester City!!

I'm happy for Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United players in their important win against Chelsea last night. This win Manchester United had over Chelsea will help boost the confidence of Manchester United players and they can pick a form of winning their matches. Manchester City is missing the absence of Kevin De Bruyne in their midfield, which is causing Manchester City to struggle to win their matches.

This victory was very important for Manchester United, they were able to make good use of their advantage and were able to maintain the full 3 points and Chelsea did not succeed in stealing these points, now Manchester United has collected 27 points and has the same points as Tottenham, but don't be happy yet because Manchester United might will be shifted from 6th position after Newcastle managed to win the match with Everton and that will widen the point difference with Manchester United.

It is reported that Kevin De Bruyne will return to play in January. Kevin De Bruyne's presence is very important for Manchester City to provide goal assists to Haaland. The club has too many problems, and the results show everything. Although the match against Chelsea last night had a winning result, but honestly when watching this match, I felt a bit disappointed when looking at the way the whole team played. Second, the guarantee from big clubs brings drama, but the quality is like that of teams in the lower divisions. With MU, they won but also missed too many opportunities, and the defense had too many problems, and the same thing happened with Chelsea when they were like sleepy people playing football with really wasted opportunities fee.

I really feel sorry that currently, MU and Chelsea are both having their own problems, injuries that make the force not strong enough to contribute expertise to the matches. This season's competition will be much more exciting where Arsenal and Liverpool will be strong challengers to Manchester City and so far both have managed to be at the top of the standings. Aston Villa has been a surprising team this season because they managed to become a top three team by relying on the quality of their players.

Personally I don't like Ten Hag's match strategy either. And I think coach Ten Hag doesn't have a good relationship with the squad players either. He is a bit of a dictator. Also Ten Hag's match strategy is not good. Because Manchester United is not a mediocre team. They want to win the title. And it is impossible to win the title with such a performance.

Manchester United's performances have been poor and erratic since the start of the season. However, we haven't seen much change in Manchester United's match tactics. Even Ten Hag has kept its formation unchanged. He should have done some experiments with the team, finding out the weaknesses of the team. He didn't do that. What happened to City? They hit the rock bottom in the last 4 games. No win and only 3 points, and the worst thing is they play nothing like they used to.
I'm sure Pep will fix this soon but I'm not unhappy. Finally a clear path for Arsenal, they have to use this chance for good. It's up to them to finish this championship drought after all these years. There is no competition right now.

I think, Manchester city are still experiencing some challenges from those their players that are still experiencing injuries over some matches now and it has caused them to experienced defeat from many teams that has reduced their points. I was shocked when Aston villa hold them strong not to allow them to defeat them like the way they defeated them last season than to use some strategies to reduced their strength to gain opportunity into their goalpost to scored a goal that gave them victory at the end of the match. I believe Manchester city manager can still do something that will make his players to return back to their excellent performance that will take them back to the first position in the premier league table.

Manchester City is currently experiencing quite big problems so that this season they cannot perform as well as in the previous season. I see balance and sharpness starting to disappear due to the absence of a creative midfielder role. The absence of Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri is clearly a major blow for Pep Guardiola to develop his game, plus the departure of Gundogan who did not get a suitable replacement. I think this season is a tough season for The Citizens and if Pep Guardiola doesn't bring in another midfielder who has above average character then the Premier League title will be lost.

You are right, I totally overlooked that Manchester City is on a streak without winning and this could probably be the fourth game in a row without a win. I wonder when this happened to them the last time. But it is encouraging to see that Manchester City can't just destroy every team in the Premier League this season. Chelsea fought back, Liverpool and Tottenham and it would be quite revealing if Manchester City does not win the game against Aston Villa because not winning any of the games against the top teams from the Premier League could provide some insight into their chances in the Champions League as well. This year won't be easy for them.

This is still not certain. Indeed, in this case, especially for now Aston Villa is still one of the clubs that must be very calculated, especially with their current performance, which is playing well, but it is not that Manchester City wants this to be a draw.
I think with the situation that is currently happening I still believe that indeed the chance of a draw is still very large but on the other hand there is another possibility for Manchester City who will get 3 points because however seeing the situation that is happening now and of course referring to Pep who has drawn in the previous 3 matches I don't think they want this to happen again.

I don't know and maybe anyone here can provide another example, but I think this is the first time I ever I see Manchester City to not win four games in a row and now they even got a loss as the icing on the cake... Pep Guardiola will essentially never have to fear losing his job, but this is quite significant. If someone asked be before the season started what I think the table would be looking like after 15 games, my answer would have been different from reality.

Manchester United saved ten Hag's head in the game against Chelsea. But from what I can see this was a deserved win for the Red Devils.

I never doubted the capability of Unai Emery's Aston Villa but I least expected them to beat the Citizens.. and to think that they literally called all the shots to the point that Man City lost control of what they were doing and were forced to defend.
I said it one of my posts that if Man City could find it difficult to beat a club that's struggling like Tottenham Hotspur and instead settled for a draw, what will be the case for Aston Villa who are very fit and this is the result.
 Again, this game has proven that Haaland is not a big game player else we should have seen his impact on the field! I still don't understand why Jeremy Doku didn't play because we've known the Belgian to be a good creator of goals and also tried to get some for himself too.
I really need to commend Aston Villa confidence and resilience because playing a team like Man City should make any team nervous but they made quick work of Pep's men, making them look like untried school boys.
 This win has seen them move above Man City to sit third on the table behind Liverpool and Arsenal and I must say the league has just got more competitive.

To be honest, I was shocked to see Aston Villa defeat Manchester City. I kept thinking about what the players on the field were doing for Manchester City because I knew they couldn't be defeated by Aston Villa. However, I also knew that Aston Villa would perform well because they have played well in many of their games this season. While Manchester did their best, in my opinion, it was insufficient as Pep Guardiola did not use any of his players, including Doku, Rodri, and Grealish. I believe this to be the reason why Aston Villa defeated Manchester City.

Although they are still doing well in the champion league, I don't think Manchester City will win the premier league this season. Arsenal or Liverpool will likely win it instead. To be honest, Manchester City tried because, if they didn't try very well, Aston Villa could even score more than that because many of their players aren't in the game.

A whole competitive elite club losing to the Lions. Manchester City can not comprehend a game without the powerhorse, Rodri in the midfield? In thought for a second that Pep Guardiola have already sorted this issue out but it seems he has done completely nothing about it. Losing to Aston Villa yesterday night was unexpected, took all Manchester City fans unawared when they couldn't net a goal and mounted defensive strategy against an average side, that's to show Unai Emery is at work and doing the very best to enchanced the club and now they're ahead of the club.

I was shocked about the Manchester City lost. I thought they will win over Aston Villa but I was not sure of the reason why there was that delay until when I saw the late goal by Bailey maintain the perfect home record of the Unai Emery. I can't believe this will be the fourth Premier League for Pep Guardiola without a win. Haaland did have two chances to win a goal which makes them fall to the fourth position in the table.

I don't think Manchester city has any excuse and injuries isn't an issue, yes I used to wrongfully think that they can blame their situation on injuries but come to think of it the reason a team has depth is in preparation for injuries. last season Arsenal had some injuries that enabled Manchester city pass them to clinch the English premier league, so they should not blame injuries every team experiences it but still Manchester city has good players to cover up. Aston Villa played very well from the goal keeper to the striker and they deserved the victory.

Aston Villa outperformed Man City in every aspect in this match. I believe it's due to Man City's strong determination, but Aston Villa's aggressive play seemed to disrupt Pep Guardiola's plans. Aston Villa executed an excellent defensive blockade.

In the final statistics of the game, Man City only managed 2 shots on target. Despite having a 54% ball possession advantage, I observed a significant decline in Man City's gameplay.

This could be a sign that English Premier League clubs have more evenly distributed strength, not solely concentrated within the top 6 clubs. The match showcased that any team, regardless of their standing, can present a formidable challenge to even the traditionally stronger sides.

Villa are playing some of the most entertaining football I've seen in a while. Quick passing, high pressing and brave. I said at the start of the season that Emery’s Aston Villa would surprise us and they are playing brilliantly this season. I hope that they keep it up and make this a title race to remember.
Any win is good but a win against Manchester City is something else. They came out with everything against Manchester city, dominated and outplayed them everywhere on the pitch.

They’re a very strong team to beat at home this season. I think they haven’t lost or drawn any of their home games this season. With the way it’s going, I think nobody is coming to villa park and getting an easy game.. not one team. I know they’ve got the bests home record in Europe at the moment. Arsenal would have to do some magic to beat them but they can do it because  they did it last season too. It will be interesting to see who wins when Arsenal play Villa at weekend.
Honestly, this Manchester city lost keeps the title race interesting. It now looks like Aston villa might do what Newcastle did last season.
