It was exactly what I expected and Chelsea couldn't come away with a win.Middlesbrough's coming all the way here had a significance and Chelsea have always been hesitant about their performances against such teams.We saw it again yesterday and I was expecting a draw but Chelsea's defeat didn't surprise me.Even though Middlesbrough played a dominant game, we can say that it was a match where the one who scored the goal won, not the one who played dominant and well.

Dominating a match is not always good if you can't score goals. And a team that does not dominate the game but has good observation in finding gaps in the opponent and then makes attacks with a good level of accuracy and scores goals is the best. Chelsea they are indeed playing well but they are still bad at making the final solution of every attack they build. So Chelsea's defeat did not surprise many people because they were already in a condition that many people did not expect this season. Their inconsistent conditions have really made other people watching always skeptical about the matches they are playing. And yes, in the end their defeat was not so disappointing because some people had expected something like this.

But Pochettino in this case also cannot be blamed because strategically we can see that the Chelsea squad has been able to penetrate the opponent's defense well. And many opportunities have been created but they just failed to take advantage of the opportunities they had.

It's been an unresolved fact for a long time that Chelsea have a problem with finishing.Pochettino hasn't figured out how to fix it yet and if he can't fix it for a few more weeks, his job will get harder.I don't think he can continue in the team for much longer. I don’t think Pochettino has the talent to solve Chelsea problems because if he were able to do that, he would have already done that. He has spent time sometimes managing the squad and has yet to see any improvement from them. Chelsea have bought so many players; they have spent a lot of money on players, and there is no improvement. However, I think for us to know how good Chelsea is, we should wait maybe and see if they will change manager, and then we may see who is at fault, whether the players or the coach. but seriously, Chelsea's form is poor. However, I think it is disappointing for them to lose that match they play, even if they had chances to win and they didn't. The result matters.

Damn again and again Chelsea made me lose some money and destroyed the series of bets I had, these losses were quite annoying.
They only played against teams from the Championship League but still lost and of course many of their fans or bettors felt disappointed.
If you look at the performance of the two teams, it is clear that Chelsea is superior, but on the field Chelsea playing quality is quite poor, they were able to dominate the match but failed to score goal.
From here it might give you feeling of skepticism towards them.

It's a mistake to not replace Palmer with other striker, he already got three big chances, but wasted all of them. Although Chelsea play really well, I don't feel they will qualify for final since they don't have any good striker. Broja, Sterling, Palmer, Madueke, etc are just B class players.

Isn't shame Chelsea lose against mediocre team in Championship?

Chelsea dominated the game but squandered a host of chances, with Cole Palmer particularly wasteful. Now Middlesbrough now have a slender advantage ahead of the return meeting at Stamford Bridge, then Chelsea can get the chance to right the wrongs in two week's time when they host the replay. I think Chelsea are even very lucky that the goal difference isn’t much. They will have the chance to put things right in the second leg. If the result of this match doesn't make you want to sign a world class striker I don't know what will. Honestly no team will win anything with players who can't finish.

The big mystery of this game is how Palmer didn't score a goal. 
Let's say the one-on-one when Palmer scored can be understood, the first dangerous situation, the sudden pass from the opponent and a little bit he didn't hit, but the moment where the Middlesbrough goalkeeper dropped the ball under Palmer's feet and he didn't score I replayed it several times, because it's much harder to score there than not to score. It's impossible to understand how he got into the goal, it was 100% the moment. After that apparently Palmer could not score anymore, every time the camera got on his face it was obvious that he himself does not understand how he did not score in this match.

Most likely Chelsea lost the game yesterday night as they need to be fully focused on the Premier League yet this is not a justification for them to lose against a team which plays in a lower division.Middlesborough was really motivated and played a very good game yesterday night and well done to them.Chelsea is in trouble overall as they are not performing in a consistent winning mentality,they win and lose and this has left them in middle of the table.

I think the EFL finals should be a game that Chelsea should try their best on so that they can win Liverpool and win the cup, at least if they can achieve this, I wouldn't criticize them anymore till next season, if they continue with their poor performance. The only problem that Chelsea might have on the final match is scoring goals, since they don't have a good,vibrant goal machine.

Liverpool is very strong now and I don't think that they will give Chelsea that chance to win the finals because Klopp will not take any chances. Sallah will be present to threaten Chelsea's defense. It seems as if Liverpool might win two trophies this season.

Livervool's match against Fulham in the Carabao Cup will be an interesting match because both of them, after each winning in the third round of the Carabao Cup, Liverpoon won against Arsenal 2-0 and Fulham won 1-0 against Rotherham, both teams won. However, in this match Liverpool will have the advantage because they will be the hosts, even though in this match Liverpool will lose Trent Alexander Arnold and Mohamed Salah. I think coach Mauricio Pochettino has been given sufficient time to improve the team but it seems he is not showing any sign of stepping up the game of the club. He has been given all the players he wanted, yet they are finding it difficult to win even lower-class teams. Everybody knows the problem of Chelsea, which is the lack of a striker that can utilise the chances they create. We were hoping that Christopher Nkunku would improve the attack of the club but he has not shown that he could revive the Chelsea attack. Liverpool has a good coach that is technically sound and he has shown that he can change the fortune of Liverpool. The club had a bad season last season but look at what he has done to the club this season without even buying so many players. Chelsea still has the opportunity to make it to the finals if they can upturn the deficit in Stamford Bridge. It will not be also bad for Middlesbrough to make it to the finals and at least win a trophy for their loyal fans.

Many of Chelsea fans have given up on the club's ability to make something good out of this season, and just like the last season, no hope of recovery for the club as it stance right now, Chelsea is gradually losing out, and the speed at which that is happening is quite alarming.

I think the coach should be blamed for the outcome of yesterday's match and Chelsea's misfortunes recently, they played very well, created alot of chances but failed to utilize any of these chance because there was no striker to convert those chances, so I wonder why a team like Chelsea would not have more than one striker or a backup striker to fill the gap in the absence of their main striker Jackson, the transfer market is open and i expect chelsea to get a striker now or risk loosing more important games before the return of their striker.

I don't like forecasting games like this because if you want to make a prediction, I know Manchester United will lose against Tottenham since they lost their last two games against Aston Villa and Nottingham very amusing they only won against wigan in the FA cup. Sincerely, this game will be a struggle for Manchester United, who are now in eighth place, and for Newcastle, who are always very near in terms of position and have become unserious at the same time. Newcastle now has their own threat in the form of Manchester City. And I have a bad feeling about that game between the city and Newcastle.

Tottenham was on its path to winning the Premier League title at the start of the season, but that journey has since ended, but in the long term, I still believe Manchester United will be burned. Chelsea is one team one cannot rely on,they were really poor in last night's game,although they played all they could to make sure they were able to get a point,but Middleborough were too solid defensively for Chelsea to break their defence.It is really embarrassing that Chelsea  would lose to a team that's not in the Premier league,and with all the players who they spent so much money on to sign in the transfer window.I wonder how their fans will feel when they see a team that's not even on thesame level with Chelsea win them,and defend the goal till the last minute of the game.Pochetino really need to work on that team again,and change their strategy, else,the premier league will be too hot for them to survive in.

Youcan't blame the team for this but you need to blame the coach for this result. It was so pathetic to see chelsea missed lots of chance and that's why people were yelling poch out now. If you were chelsea fan then you could see the line up and strategy used by pochettino.
The team was playing so awful and this is the main problem. In fact, pochettino has done it so many times by putting his players in the wrong position. That was obviously affecting the performance from chelsea.
Poch thought that if this could be used as experiment but he was wrong and he was over confidence with it and i do believe that's the major problem at all.

If pochettino will be repeating another stupid mistake and i will stay he needs to be sacked as soon as possible. It's not about how good he was in managing the club but his decision making was so stupid.
Putting the players on their non actual positions obviously the biggest mistakes by him here. No doubt that if the fans have lost their patience. Honestly, the manager being so clueless this day. He didn't even know what he was doing.
This is the main problem that needs to be sorted out by the club.

Im confused about Chelsea's predicament too. They dominate the game without scoring, like a car in neutral - revving but not moving. Fans are frustrated with Pochettino's ineffective tactics. Their roster is good, especially against Middlesbrough, therefore they should score comfortably. But here we are, confused.

The fact that dominating alone was not enough in this match, Chelsea was unable to score a goal meant that Pochettino tactics were not effective in making Middlesbrough players. In terms of team quality, Chelsea should be superior, right? This is the problem they are facing this season with the game and squad composition being too strange, maybe this is another bad sign that the coach cannot solve. in Leg 2, 1 goal behind can still be caught if Chelsea is able to break the opponent's defensive wall. If they have no motivation problems in players then why often lose in the Premier League or in other competitions? Chelsea completely failed to break down Middlesbrough's defence. It cannot be said for sure whether Chelsea will win the home match of the second leg. Chelsea's performance is very erratic right now.

Chelsea's performance in last night's match was really poor, due to which they could not win the match against Middleborough. Chelsea however had 72% possession while Middleborough only had 28% possession in the semi-final against Chelsea. Chelsea performed well in all aspects and were attacking but they couldn't keep the ball in the back of the net. Middleborough scored a goal in the first half and came back stronger and denied Chelsea any more chances to score and the keeper made a great save. Since they failed in the first leg match, it is difficult to say how well they will perform in the second leg but most likely they will do worse in the match. As Chelsea's performances are so erratic at the moment, they need to improve on this disappointing performance or face a semi-final exit.
