Looking at how shaky Newcastle United form is and how they have been playing this season, I don’t think Newcastle United can make champions league spot again this season. They qualify to the champions league for the first time in ten years only to get knocked out in the group stage. Eddie Howe will be disappointed with how the team is doing this season. They showed so much promise last season, one would expect to see them fighting for too four position this season.

No one knows if Newcastle United can get another UCL spot this season, currently we are still in the middle of the season and anything can happen later. BTW, currently Newcastle United is leading the match with a score of Newcastle 2 - 1 Manchester City thanks to 2 quick goals from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon. If they are able to maintain their current lead, they could get even closer to the top 4 (8 points apart).

The match was still going on very excitingly. Unfortunately, time was running out in the 45th minute, and it was possible that the final result would be a draw. Usually Erling Haaland would contribute to this match, but he was not present, and on the field, Manchester City seemed to be having difficulty penetrating Newcastle's defense. Manchester City was too brave not to give Erling Haaland the opportunity to take to the field, even though the difference in points at the top of the standings was narrow and there was a chance for Manchester City to win this match when Pep Guardiola mobilized the strength of his best players.

Even though they played as guests, Man City dominated the match with their tika taka style that has become Guardiola's trademark. This is what I expected from a pretty big match because even though Newcastle are not in the best condition but it seems like they don't want to make this match easy for Manchester City.

The first half is almost over and it lookslike the end of the first half Manchester City will be left behind but with the dominance they showed in this match, it is likely that the second half will be more interesting because for now Manchester City only need to maximize the opportunitie they have because seeing from what is happening now they actually have quite a lot of opportunities that can be converted into goals but because  the finishing is not too good it makes it a little difficult for them to score because until now Newcastle defense is also still very good and they are quite good at taking advantage of the momentum for a quick counterattack that is done.

Tonight match is pretty going to be a hard game for Newcastle united to escape from losing to this tactical and clinical Manchester City team that so hungry to move top of the league table. The return of Doku and Kevin De Bruyne has improved the form of Manchester City looking at their two previous games, so I feel there will be a lot of pressure on Newcastle despite playing at their own home adding to how they have underperformed in their past 5 games if they can get a draw in this game which I doubt then they should be more than happy for anything less.

Honestly I couldn't believe what I was seeing, the first half wasn't over yet but Newcastle had scored 2 goals while Man City had only scored 1 goal (even Newcastle's goals were really close together)
It seems that this year the house has a strong intention not to lose in this match, it is not easy to beat Man City but they are able to prove that they have the potential to win, I can't wait to see the second half, surely Man City's attacks will be even harder.

A little setback for Manchester City who have lost their first choice Goalkeeper very early and now have to turn to their second-choice goalkeeper to keep their goal safe. Manchester City have scored a wonderful goal by Bernando Silva to put Manchester City in the win. I have observed from the game that Manchester City have been able to constantly find themselves behind the Newcastle Midfield players because the Midfielders are too far away from the defenders. With Manchester City goal, Newcastle will find it hard to win this game.

Manchester City coach will at some time in the game put in the returned Kevin De Bruyne, and that will be extra firepower for Manchester City attack to force in more goals.

Manchester City is trying really hard to actually win this match. But right now they are trailing. The current score is 2-1 in favor of Newcastle United. The halftime break is going on right now. Manchester City was the one to break the deadlock. But Newcastle City was able to make a comeback. Now  City is chasing the game. I have to say, Newcastle United has done pretty well so far. Are you sure that you know what you are saying because currently, the weak Newcastle in the first 26th minutes, finally became a threat for Man City as they used two great counter attack to score two impressive goals. Their game strategy was super enough to overcome City's plan, and City got trapped in the middle of the game as Newcastle kept on stopping their balls before they get into the box. I couldn't believe the way this game ended in the first half because Newcastle are not yet tired to show City what they got today. ManCity played very impressive but they lost so many opportunities that was suppose to be converted to a goal. The second half will determine who will be the winner of this match because I can't predict who will win.

Newcastle United is currently 8 points behind the fourth-position team. That is definitely not a good thing for them. But at the same time, I do not think it is going to be impossible for them to actually finish in the top four. If we look at the current form of Newcastle United, we can see that they are not doing well at all. Now if they actually want to finish in the top four, they will have to start performing far better compared to what they are doing right now. They have been pretty inconsistent so far. They will have to be consistent in their performance. Otherwise, they are not finishing in the top four. Because the competition is higher in this season.

There is something wrong with Manchester City's defensive strategy, this is clearly detrimental. Manchester City left huge spaces behind as the defenders tried to build up and get involved in attacks. Newcastle used this to counterattack and of course and it didn't just happen once in the first half. I think Pep Guardiola has to change his game scheme to turn things around instead of falling behind again to Newcastle who defend and counterattack. Newcastle's 3 goals came from the same scheme, but only 2 goals were considered valid.

The high pressing played by Eddie Howe in this match succeeded in preventing Manchester City players from creating many opportunities. Newcastle don't hesitate to tackle and even create fouls as long as Manchester City players don't get away, so these are things that Pep Guardiola should be discussing in his dressing room at the moment. Good use of opportunities and composure of the game should be what helps Manchester City win the 3 points, I hope it really does in the second half.

They have played 19 games in the league and are 5 points behind Liverpool who have played 20 games in the league. Manchester City have been better in recent games and they are my favorites.

Even if Newcastle's performance is not good right now, I would tell Manchester City fans not to underestimate this team too much. The performance of the Newcastle team is erratic but this team cannot be called weak at all. Newcastle have the ability to perform well against the big teams. At the same time, the Newcastle team has been able to perform well against the big teams in home matches this season. So if City make any mistakes in this match, the Newcastle players will make good use of this opportunity. Guardiola is an experienced coach. But Newcastle coach Eddie Howe is very strategic. Things are not going well for them in the league. Last season they were very successful but this season they haven't had the same success. Today after break we have first game while they will host Manchester City which is also regrouping themselves for the top challenge and if today they are able to secure win then surely things will be interesting as they will jump at the second spot with just 2 points difference from leaders Liverpool which is having some bad time, but things can go entertaining for the Premier League fans for this second half of the season.

In the first half of the game, Manchester City were the better side until they scored the in the 26th minute started feeling relaxed and that gave Newcastle United the needed opportunity to strike back and luckily for them, they did that in quick succession.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a very experienced manager and isn't new to this kind of game result so I expect him to know what to do in other to bring his team back in to the game. City are already pressing for an equalizer and I don't think Newcastle can continue to resist City's pressure till the last minute of the game
