I have to say this will be an easy win for Manchester City and they will shift Arsenal in the 2nd position then wait for the right moment to shift Liverpool. If Manchester City won today then they are only one point adrift behind Liverpool this means that the opportunity is still there and if Manchester City lose today then they will end.

Pep Guardiola met his match this week, he couldn't convert most of his chances because Mauricio Pochettino was ever ready to absorb all the firing pressure. City was entirely in for three winning points, but unfortunately they were denied. Who's fault it is? Manchester City drawed points with Chelsea because the Blues didn't give them enough room to pressed them and the visitors becomes the first team to net goal on the pitch, that was absolutely not the plan. Tonight Manchester City will host the Bees at the Etihad Stadium and it will level the number of games being played with the other 3 clubs in the top 4, at least the outstanding will be gone for good without adding pressure on the other 2 clubs (Liverpool and Arsenal). With a win tonight it only be 1pt clear from topping Liverpool and from what I'm seeing Liverpool are not in a very sharp state with the number of injuries they have in their 1st eleven, I believe they'd be hoping for Brentford to do them a favor to at least get City off their back.
Brentford almost got something in the game against Liverpool and if all chances was coverted I believe the Bees would have drew the game because their spirit was high in that encounter but visiting the Etihad Stadium is never going to be easy after the Citizens drew against the Blues. I don't see the host taking any chances and they (City) will make life a living hell for the visitors.

The opportunity is still their quite alright but this season is a bit tricky you don't know who's going up or down and by this time last campaign City are leading (if I'm not mistaken), but for sometime now you'd agree with me that Man City have been unbalanced, the force of doing things like before haven't been coming and from all you said is like you're excluding Arsenal in the race.
I still believe that even if Man City get a win in this game tonight both them and Liverpool will still lose one or two games before the end of the season and if you ask me between the 3 teams (Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal) who's more sharp since we only have a three horse race for the title I'd say Arsenal because since they came back from this crazy holidays things have been falling in place for the Gunners and as for Klopp, I don't see him getting a trophy this season.

Honestly it would be a miracle if Man Utd displace Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa from the fourth and fifth positions this is due to the team inconsistency in their performance though it's seem the team has woke up and had improved having won four consecutive matches now, however can the team sustain their recent winning mentality? They would play Fulham and Nothingham Forest in FA cup thereafter play Man City at the Etihad stadium if they can get a positive result from these matches then the team would definitely vie  for top 4, as the league gradually winding up matches would become very competitive because every team would up their game.

I know, it is not easy for Manchester United to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League standings and knock out Spurs and Aston Villa. however, we know very well that in football it is difficult to predict. moreover, the Premier League still has 14 matches left until the end of the season. The point is, Ten Hag is only focused on his team to win match after match that they will play throughout the remainder of this competition. despite the fact that several of the teams that United will play against in the following weeks are opponents that could be said to be tough. for example, City, Liverpool and Arsenal. however, if Erik Ten Hag's team does not have injury problems. in other words, United played their full starting eleven. they have a chance to overthrow their opponents.

IMO, currently Erik Ten Hag's system is working pretty well as he wishes. what he needs to do is improve his team's weaknesses and sharpen his front line. I'm quite optimistic, United has a probability of that. well, so do Spurs and Aston Villa. can they maintain their position, even overtake the ranking of the team above their ranking? for sure, we don't know. It is possible that these two teams will experience a decline in performance and slip up in some of their matches. The Red Devils have a chance to overtake their ranking. after all, there are still 14 games left. Let's see what the Premier League presents every week. A draw even will be a sin for Mancity, they havent lose at home in this season (league) and I dont see any reason why should Brentford will be able to beat them at home.
De Bruyne and Ake will be play in the 2nd half - rotations is a must, considering Mancity will be play every 3 or 4 days from now until mid March.

Manchester City found their last battle against Arsenal difficult because they think that Arsenal is like other clubs that they will only beat, and their current match against Brentford is now ongoing, which gives me hope that Brentford can produce positive outcomes. Really if Man City have to drop points again because it will hurt them but I don't believe they will lose to Brentford because there is still a wide opportunity to win, here just waiting for Liverpool to stay at the top.
