[BW sez]

"I would like to see UNO and XDQ traded for fiat, however we haven't made that decision yet.

We are registered w/ FinCEN and are legally able to trade fiat, but there's a lot that comes with it.

We're approaching fiat very, very slowly and in a very specific way.

When we do trade it, UNO for fiat is a very good possibility."

I just sent Cryptsy a support ticket and asked for a Uno>USD market. Why don't you all do the same while we continue to discuss it here. To me it makes sense to start with Cryptsy, since most of us already trade there and they have supported Uno for a year. Let's ask them to help us with a USD market, and refer them back the discussion here to show them that there would be support for it.

Other options... C-cex at one time was going to add us and probably still would if we pushed. We're still ranked high in voting at C-cex. Also Bleutrade has a USD market and we already high in voting there, too. Neither allow deposits/withdrawal of USD as far as I know, just allowing trading.

I will also clarify with BW about USD plans for Altmarket. Maybe this is a problem that will soon resolve itself.

Thanks FK, great idea.  I just submitting this "feature request" to Cryptsy:

Quote
Hi, I noticed that not too long you added two altcoins for USD pairing (NXT and PPC). Please consider adding additional altcoin/USD pairs.

I am personally mostly interested in having a UNO/USD pair available.  I would very much like to be able to deposit USD into Cryptsy and then buy UNO directly with that instead of having to first buy BTC and then buying my UNO with that BTC, which is indirect and inconvenient.

If you were to add more altcoins, in particular UNO, to USD pairing, it would bring Cryptsy A LOT of new business -- especially with the value of BTC declining over the last nine months the way it has.

Thank you,

Jelks

@ Jelks: Bryce Weiner is Uno's lead developer (and I didn't know that until recently).

@ Cryptsy Uno-fiat: will ask Cryptsy.

@ Bitcoin Charlie: yes, we should support BW's exchange; and 'symbiosis' is a word I wish I heard more often on Planet Krypto.

And: we have an offer for a 250 UNO TRADE!!

cryptsy wants higher volume for USD-market first:

https://twitter.com/Bit_John/status/515645438410891264

so, keep trading Wink

meanwhile maybe drop a tweet at https://twitter.com/jstcoin and ask for uno/euro market. Won't hurt us Wink

So volume is the criteria, not value?  OK, so why then are DOGE, LTC, etc. not paired at Cryptsy with the USD?

I was quite aware of Blazr/Blazr2, but not Bryce Weiner.  Thank you.

And to the mention of Blocktech.com, which I see has some interesting people working for them, including Vitalik Buterin of the Etherium project.

stop trading uno like an altcoin. Start trading it like the better bitcoin.

Everyone is pissed by bitcoin performance and everyone is aware it's because of high inflation. People will need a bit of time to realize unos potential. I think it can get great traction over time.
If bitcoin keeps going down for months and months for no other reason than its inflation, this community can only grow.

it seems that you are correct. I have seen many names in this forum that I do not recall seeing before.  We should all be tweeting a lot about UNO too.  I have replied numerous times suggesting UNO to those in my feeds complaining about the performance of BTC or an alt. Most reply that they had never heard of UNO, but will check it out...picking up one or two new believers a day makes a big difference over time!

a little promo-thread of high quality of mine was just moved to the trashcan. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=800259.0
I think bitcoiners are scared.

So, i was censored now. Fine.

thread was posted in altcoins-section and content was of first class quality. Title was "Bitcoin collapses due to 10% inflation - here is the solution"

- was censored -

i still have the tab open. OP was this:

"Bitcoin can't hold value. It wasn't designed for that. It suffers from high inflation long time into the adoption.
The high inflation in fact slows down adoption because: who wants to buy that if it can't hold value?
The solution at hand is unobtanium along with some other low inflation alts.

If bitcoin bites the dust. Dump your coins in unobtanium because that can hold the value unlike bitcoin.

See thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.0

The solution to bitcoins inflation problem is unobtanium. Exit inflation matrix with uno."

people took interest, i was answering question, posting emission-plan and so on. Mod is quick to silence. Welcome to bitcoin-fascism ladies and gentlemen.

Just wanted to write the mod a message asking why, when i saw this on his profile:

"In a world of peaches, don't ask for apple sauce"

I think it's not even worth the effort writing a message.

Well, it is pretty lame if the post didn't violate any of the terms. I can see how bitcoiners might not wanna talk about that type of stuff on their bitcoin forum. As there is so much speculation in the crypto world, i dunno. Did you try posting that same thing in the speculation section, maybe with a less damning name? Something like "bitcoin & inflation" talking about the issues surrounding bitcoin and how other coins are poised to better handle the flow of new coins. Or find the more active discussions already taking place about those topics and name dropping uno there?

I think the inflation alongside of the rises in difficulty and the amounts of hardware out there all compound and make smaller issues much larger. It is all uncharted territory in a sense so things are new to everyone. That is an interesting issue though, that the drop in value hurts adoption and in turn it hurts value.

In a few weeks three quarters of all uno to ever exist will be mined. The remaining 25% goes to supporting the network for quite some time. So yeah, pretty much after this next halving, if you don't have your hands on as much as you would like, i think it is going to be that much harder to get it.

Can we have a birthday bash? Seems like a one year is a good reason to promote the coin, more so given the situation with btc that is unfurling. Maybe do a raffle or something? Get people to drop a line on twitter about Uno and how there is no superfluous amount of coins being generated every day to further dilute your holdings. I would donate some if anyone has any interest in something like that.

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

V500 did that and they got angry at 'speculation'. It was suggested to post in altcoins. Well, fuck btctalk. Taking to twitter where they can't censor me :

i learned:
don't talk about uno in depth on btctalk outside this thread to avoid problems. Uno really scares them.

Look at the poor performance of bitcoin. It's a drama. Uno would be making much more profit for everyone. They subconciously know uno has a better design than bitcoin when it comes to the inflation. Uno would be adopted much faster and would perform much better in the markets. They got their pants full because they know it.

buy it up already. What are you scared of? It won't drop this time.
We need a high price. They won't believe it for this marketcap. They want to buy it for 200$. Not for 2$!

Mprep, the mod for the Alternate Cryptocurrencies form, has a tough job. He's trying to clean up trolls who would otherwise totally overrun this board. He see hundreds of spammy posts  daily, and he doesn't really have time to engage deeply on freedom of speech issues. I spent a little time reading his recent posts, and I would not want the job of moderating a section on btctalk.  Not saying at all that your post deserved to be binned -- it looked pretty good to me -- just saying the mod here has a difficult job and so there can be (and often is) collateral damage on this forum. It's just a fact of life here.  Once in awhile something good gets tossed out with the trash. It's inevitable.

Bitcoin makes a lot of things possible for Uno.  Lets keep politely telling our story (I got feedback recently that the Uno community now has the rep of being a friendly bunch of established traders), and eventually the facts will get out.

Remember that our story about the established & vetted 1 year old cryptocurrency (UNO) is one tiny story coming out of an altcoin firehose that is about 90% spam/scam right now. The mods here know this and are worried about containing it.  Don't be offended if people are skeptical or don't "get it" right away. They'll get it in the end.  A year from now, Uno will still be on the front page of CMC, and 90% of what's there now will have slid down the ladder far below Uno.

I agree, and I wouldn't lodge a protest. It wouldn't help. He has even less time to adjudicate appeals than he has to judge whether a post is spam/scam.  Just take it as a feedback.

@FK

let's hope you are right and it was an accident. We'll see, maybe i will do another more general thread and see if that gets binned too.

@the others:

if you don't hurry up i'll cash out my other coins and spike it up to 0.008 ... then you cry for cheap uno. Buy now while it's low. Do you have enough?

Final warning Wink
