Futuur has resolved the bet as a winning/losing one. They hadn't voided any bets. Previously I said about it here. Simone Biles participated in two events. Maybe that's the main reason for not counting the bet as void. BTW, I just noticed that Futuur have added a bet filter option. It's not working perfectly yet. Probably they are testing the filter now. And it will be helpful for user if they add ‘Starting/Ending Soon’ filter in sports market.

Thank you for pointing this out. I tried it right away and the filter still has problems. I only tried to see financial market bets and still got sports bets. It still seems to be a test, because I haven't seen an official announcement yet. But when it works later,  it is a great help.

Futuur has resolved the bet as a winning/losing one. They hadn't voided any bets. Previously I said about it here. Simone Biles participated in two events. Yes, they should be more present here. But  they must also more active and faster confirm bets as won or lost. Often bets are only closed after weeks or after a support request, although the result is fixed for a long time. At the moment there are still many Olympic bets unsolved, although the results have been determined. Unfortunately, this also gambled away trust.

The most common mistake that bitcointalk forum members make is that we think of this place as the only place, we should be considering this place as a tiny place that casinos have to look at and not the main one.

If you are as huge as stake/primedice and you had your starts here, then obviously you will be here and you will chat here and you will do marketing here (like signatures) because it is both beneficial for you to keep reminding people you are great (like coca cola still doing ads, we all know what it is, we already made our minds about it, but they still do ads) but also they are huge enough to make that worth it.

When you are a small place then you do not prioritize bitcointalk, I have done a whole marketing campaign for a project with 3+ million dollars invested and we basically never used this place at all, I used telegram, twitter and other projects partnership and we got 3+ million dollars invested, I can do that any day of the year, it is quite simple, all you need is money and they had money.

This was of course nearly 2 years ago, it was after the 2017 peak and during 2018 crash, if I did it recently I would have probably reach bigger, you need like 100k for it and you will get 3+ million back, without bitcointalk at all.

In any case I hope that resolve means voided because Simone Biles was expected to win 6 gold medals total whereas she ended up with a silver and a bronze, which was obviously nothing we expected from her, but it is much much much more important to actually make her feel better, nothing is more important than a person's health.

I know these athletes work 4 years for every single day just for a minute or two on that stage, and that is a very big hard work for a low chance of something, but it is still quite admirable to let all of that go and protect your mental health, many people couldn't find the power to do what she did, congrats to her for being aware of the situation.

This was an extraordinary case, normally we do not see these type of deals, specially not at Olympics for sure. We first expected a lot of gold medals from her, then she said she won't participate, then she did to only 2 things, and that is where we are right now. How do you handle something like this? Can we say that she didn't participate? We can because she withdrew from most of the things she should be winning gold medals, but we could also say that she participated because she actually did participated in a team thing as well, so we could see both sides being a bit right.

Zero gold medals for her is a huge thing, I would believe that it would definitely have a good odd. So we just have to wait and see and hope that futuur actually communicates a bit more clear about the issue and what they are going to decide but both sides are quite right so it is a bit weird and unusual.

If so, then I think this is not entirely correct.  The fact is that in this particular case there was an option that Simona Biles would not receive a single medal ("0").  Because despite the vault incident, she continued the competition, and not very well.  True, two Olympic medals, silver and bronze, are also an achievement.  I think in this dispute the general rules should be applied as always.

There's nothing wrong on making out bets but on general sense then its really a bit unethical on betting someones lives specially in correlated with this pandemic situation.

Most of the lines offered aren't really that appealing since it would really be knowing the result for long time and not all gamblers does have that kind of long patience to wait up

they have chances to make any popular bet, covid is very popular that can make people interesting want to join, but if that option didn't get any audience, better to change it with what your suggested.

I would say that there will be some people who will want to bet, and there will be some people who will be disgusted and that's about it. I mean think about it what in the world do not have lovers and haters and that will be truth here as well. There will be some people who will be gambling thousands of dollars on those type of covid related stuff or even worse stuff as well because nobody cares, look at the darknet and you can see how bad people could get, betting on covid is not really that bad at all.

Of course there will also be people who will say that this is not really that good at all, they will be hating the situation but we are just talking about some complaints about the ethical situation yet if you keep going what could be the worst thing that could happen? I mean I doubt that anyone would want to "cancel" futuur as a whole, doesn't seem like it would worth it.

I agree with you here. And those players using real coin will be encouraged to bet more if there is some sort of reward or bonus to them. Because right now, the leaderboard in Ooms doesn't matter much as we know it is just play money on the site. They are already spending money with the maintenance itself of the site, so the futuur team should take advantage of their opportunity to increase their regular players. Otherwise, we will see another betting site gone.
