this issue of availability of vaccines was something that some rich countries did to monopolize vaccines, there are countries that are giving vaccines to tourists when in other countries there are no vaccines for people in risk zones, something very unfair because these third world countries like My country also paid for the vaccine but the rich collected all the vaccines, the result is that third world countries will suffer in the economy because they have to continue to take the most severe measures of restrictions

During the initial stages, the richer countries hoarded almost all the vaccine output from Pfizer and Moderna. The poorer nations had to depend on less efficient vaccines such as Sinopharm and Sinovac. And when Pfizer started distributing the vaccines to poorer nations, they demanded very one-sided indemnity agreements from the governments of these countries. In case of Argentina, they even wanted to put the military bases and gold reserves as collateral. And despite all this, now it turns out that the efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine lasts for only 4-5 months.

@Josiel
I am all in favor of everyone getting vaccinated as soon as possible.
Everyone wants to come back to the old living and although some first world countries already are living their lives back, with or without mask they can go everywhere without anything to worry about contraction.

I do hope that all of us will get back there again.

All of us wanted to move the old same way, without the use of any mask or shields.

First world countries managed to provide what their people are calling the government, with the help of being vaccinated
they are now free to move without these safety health protocols.

The only concerned why most 3rd world country still can't do things like this is the realities in which vaccinated people are more
lesser than those who already have the shots.
First-world countries have access to vaccines and that's why they're easily backed. But we'll see the light soon and even the third world countries will also be back.

Hopefully next year, we'll see the drop in cases and death.

LOL.. In 2020 we were saying that COVID will be gone by 2021. And now in 2021, we are hoping that the pandemic will be contained by 2022. Personally I don't believe that even in 2022 that is going to happen. The pharma companies know it. They are ramping up their production and having roadmaps up to 2025 or even beyond. And with the emergence of new strains with every passing month (Delta Plus is not the one which has caught everyone's attention), I agree with their viewpoint. The situation is not going to get better anytime soon.

It's about hope and that's true that last year, there were some thoughts that have been said that by this year it will be the end of the pandemic.

But it didn't and there's nothing really but to be a contributor to the stoppage of this virus through the measures to avoid it.

Well, we'll see it again if next year it won't be contained.

Now it is the delta variant which is causing the maximum number of infections and the existing vaccines have limited efficacy against this strain. A recent study found that the Pfizer vaccine has an efficacy of less than 50%, and the Chinese vaccines perform even worse. The plus point here is that if you are fully vaccinated, then the chances of hospitalizations and death are much lower. But the pandemic is not getting contained and despite the vaccination there is no big drop in the number of people who are getting infected.

Many variants of covid 19 have made it more dangerous and caused the epidemic to last indefinitely.  The fact is that Delta is causing countless casualties and increasing the number of deaths due to Delta, but many medical experts say that cross-contamination makes the risk of creating dangerous super-variants much more than Delta.  Currently, most countries are trying to speed up the progress of vaccinating their people and quickly find more suitable and effective vaccines.  I'm not sure how long the world will take to tackle this pandemic.

This virus will not disappear from the face of the earth, so like it or not we have to live side by side with this virus. vaccination will make our immune system more immune and herd immunity will soon be achieved. so the most important thing for now is the majority of the earth's population must receive the vaccine so that we can live normally again.

Most countries are accepting the transition to living with this pandemic, more precisely, the infection as well as the endless variations has delayed too long in many issues, from diplomacy, commerce, economy and work, intact aspects of the country's development base are gone and if the optimization of vaccinations and the forced restriction of people's movement continue to occur, the pandemic has not caused a complete collapse yet, but people and economies have been broken by this pressure. Death from disease and death from economy, the two heaviest deaths in the years of Covid 19

Without feeling the pandemic has existed for 1 year, I think this time is running so fast because honestly I don't feel the impact of this pandemic, because I am still active as usual like there is no pandemic.
We've been already get used to it on where face mask and face shields had been part of our lives for this long time being but i do still hope that everything would go back to normal where we dont have
any issues about going outside on being scared about some virus and i do really miss out on living our lives into those normal days. This is just really way too frustrating that until now
there's no cure for such virus even though there are already some vaccines but those arent guaranteed.

Yes, it is true that there's more dangerous variant that has been said and I don't know why the media seems to be quiet about it. But the fact that the virus mutates, it's what is making it more scary if it's not contained or at least gradually slowed down.

Don't know whether that is true. Do you remember what happened with MERS and SARS? These viruses were eliminated completely, by stopping their spread. However I understand that the COVID 19 virus is much more contagious, and it will be extremely difficult to do something like that. But in the end, "living with the virus" is not possible. You need a vaccine shot every 4-5 months. It is a gold mine for the pharmaceutical companies, but a disaster for the governments around the world (single dose of the Pfizer vaccine costs $37).

Hopefully next year, we'll see the drop in cases and death.

Agree and it is like a positive thoughts since most people on that time panic and scared of the virus since this is the firsttime we encounter this. Though their prediction was wrong but we do have a positive thoughs that by next year it would be okay but still we are here and we only have a social ending which we follow restriction so that we could be in out side. My prediction last year was 2022 but i think 2024 -2025 is the best bet that everything would be okay.

Hope. That's difficult to find now when you are hit by the virus. People became pessimistic even with the vaccine being offered.

I don't know if I can call myself lucky or just at the right time when I file my resignation in November of 2019.
Never had the idea it will be the best decision in my life for I also find a new job online that pays better than my last job. Then, the pandemic hits.
I said to myself this will only take a year and I really want to go back in the field for some social interaction because working at home is kind of lonely although it has the perks of being with your family. I am just not used to it.
It's almost 2 years now and it's exhausting to cling to that hope. People are getting weary although they are following what the government tells. It's just not working at the right pace, it's too slow.

Now that there is already a vaccine , could it be the end of covid- 19 virus? How are you after one year of covid-19 pandemic?

There is a saying," Behind the Clouds the Sun is still Shining".

Even theres a vaccine corona virus still there and pandemic still the problem of lots of country. For me vaccine is still not the answer to stop the pandemic in the world but by improving our life tyle make our immunity strong for us not to take the virus and stop spreading it and the most important is the movement of the Government to really stop the Coronavirus.

Vaccines, along with strict social distancing protocols should have done the trick. The pandemic is still there, because large sections of population refuse to get vaccinated, and then there are people who refuse to wear masks and take other precautions while going out. And as far as I know, none of the governments have so far made vaccination mandatory. At the most, they have banned unvaccinated people from crowded places. And that has proved insufficient to contain the spread of the pandemic so far.

Ofcourse. However the virus could still get into people with strong immune system but won't be able to harm or make them sick. This doesn't mean such people should become reckless and allow loads of viruses to get into them. If their immunity is weakened, the viruses could succeed. So, they have to maintain the strong immunity and remain protected. They should try as much as possible to limit the loads of viruses getting into their body

What is certain is that you must comply with existing health protocols. Even though the vaccine has been given, a healthy lifestyle must be maintained. This health discipline will have to be made a lifestyle. At least Covid has started to subside since the vaccine has been given.

Don't be so sure. The Bahraini government released some data recently, which showed that around 15% of the individuals who died from COVID in that country were fully vaccinated. I agree that vaccination reduces the chances of hospitalization and death, but it definitely doesn't reduce the risk by 100x or 200x as the media is claiming. I think it is more like a 5x-10x reduction in risk. On top of that, the mRNA vaccines are now being reported with decreasing efficacy after 4-5 months of administration, which necessitates a booster shot.

This pandemic has devastated the economy in my country, many companies have cut staff and very few job positions, costing me a whole year to be unemployed. I really didn't expect much from the vaccine they reported, less than a year they claimed their vaccine was effective but in fact the number of victims continues to increase. but I think this vaccine will improve and give society time to take care of our health. It is essential in most countries, otherwise it would be extremely difficult. about I've personally never been infected with this virus, looks like I'm a lucky man.

Hopefully by next year, there's lesser cases and lesser restrictions. We all want to go out and go somewhere else.

Good for those countries that don't have restrictions anymore and they've beaten the virus but still a lot of countries especially in third world countries, vaccines are not sufficient.
