It's a great comeback story. Going into the last five weeks, Ajax were nine points ahead. Now, just one week left and Ajax are one point behind. Ajax lost the lead due to consecutive points losses. From another perspective, hopes for PSV were revived after they were lost. I saw the fans' reactions to the last-second goal in the Ajax match on the internet and I saw how happy they were. Considering the 100 goals PSV have scored this season, I think they deserve the title more.

They lost points in the last 4 weeks. They lost to Nec at home and could not beat Sparta Rotterdam.
What caused Ajax to regress so much?

I think coach Farioli had an impact on this. Nice, who blew like a storm at the beginning of the season, experienced this regression at the end of the season. He caused the same thing to happen to Ajax. Farioli will most likely not be at the helm of Ajax next year.
We need to investigate how such a regression can happen in a big team.

Thanks for sharing this video, it's unbeleavable. Now I'm thinking not just about Eredivisie, but all major leagues in Europe, and I barely can remember anything similar since I started to follow football almost 20 years ago. Wasting 9 points advantage, getting just 2 points from 12 possible in recent 4 games. Conceding equalizer on 90+9 minute. Ajax is going straight into wall of shame of football where they will be remembered for long.
I don't see how they still can win league. Considering how team looks, I doubt that they will beat Twente. And perfectly playing PSV dropping points vs Sparta - don't see it's happening.

This season is going to be remembered for years because story started from relegation zone then have huge twist as Ajax was clearly looking champions but now in last 4 games lost 10 points with having no chance of win because PSV is also on fire for their defend of title.

36 years old Italian Francesco Farioli who is having 2 years here surely feeling heat because now he almost lost his best chance of winning Dutch League but losing like this is surely shameful because no one were expecting performance like this at this time while all was set for him to lift trophy and enjoy. In last game of this season, now Ajax is hosting Twente and Sparta is going to entertain PSV which is also had must win game for title can manage things Sparta is also having Conference league playoffs chance, but they never won game against PSV in last few years which making things easier for visitors to lift trophy again.

Ajax lost the title, it's gone, there is no recovery, they won't do any better, it is not anymore at all. We need to reconsider what Ajax can do from here, because if they focus on the title, that is a waste of time, PSV can't lose at this point, not after they came back from 9 points down.

Fraoli should be fired, and they also need to make sure they get more serious players from either young team, or some young players from other teams. Ajax was never a team that ended up  paying a ton of money for superstars, they were always the team that grew the stars of Europe on their team. It means, they should be getting some 23 year old or whatever that can play great, could be from their own youth or whatever. The player they have, a lot of them, look like they are unserious, and they don't care, and that's deadly for a team like Ajax

When Ajax scored first and Groningen equalized I was already have a feeling of fear for Ajax until Ajax scored again and I had a sign of relief and when Groningen even got a red card I concluded that there's no way for them to equalized again since their strength was weakened by the red card but at the die minutes it was just as if Groningen planned to deny Ajax the title and now they will be hoping that PSV loses against Sparta while they Twente which is almost impossible. Ajax should just accept that the title has slipped away from them after all the hard work they did to lead the table till this time, it is indeed a painful one but they must accept their fate.

PSV fans were literally surprised because they thought Ajax had won Groningen not until they got to know that Ajax drew in the stoppage time and their joy was massive. PSV became so consistent lately and their relentless efforts is about to pay them huge when they finally win the trophy again.

Truly a great comeback story and I have a feeling it will be a full comeback story by the end of championship and PSV will emerge champions at the end. Yep , Ajax lost points on their own mistakes and the pressure is bigger than ever on them to actually not lose points in the next 4 games which I doubt it will happen and most likely Ajax will lose points here and there while PSV will not.

It was a really crazy match, I didn't expect Ajax to only share points with Groningen, what surprised me more was how Groningen scored their second goal even after one of their players got a red card. Looking at the match statistics, it seems like Ajax lost their motivation in the match, they thought they had won the Eredivisie even before the competition was over. On the other side, PSV with their hopes finally made it.

With the result of Groningen 2 - 2 Ajax, PSV is currently at the top of the standings with a total of 76 points while Ajax is below them with 75 points. There is only 1 match left before the competition is over, I can't wait to see what will happen.

Ajax definitely fumbled it very hard, and at very last minutes too. Fraoli will be fired for sure, that dude gave away 9 points in 4 games, that is beyond understandable and the biggest fumble in football history. There is no way he will find a decent job anywhere again neither, that is the worst part.

Because he did such a horrible result and caused them to lose the title, he will not be given a better job and because of that he will not get a good job. He would have to climb the ranks up all over again, get a terrible team, try to overachieve, and if he can, then maybe possibly get a mid table team, and try to overachieve, etc etc, until he gets a good job. Which would take him at least a decade to do it all over again.

Honestly, Francesco Farioli is a complete failure, which coach drops so many points when the league is about to end, the team entirely is the cause of the situation they found themselves because they know quite well that PSV Eindhoven was looking for the slightest opportunity, that is why most of their games ends with a huge score, just imagine the goal difference of PSV but still Ajax was so relaxed as if they still have many matches to play before the season ends. Which magic will make PSV not win the title when they are already preparing to rampage their next opponent in the final match of the season. Mixed feelings about this and I don't have all the information but Hendo doing well for Ajax was supposed to be the feel good story of the season, and you know, me being Liverpool has something to do with that.

But we all hate Ajax don't we? And seeing them lose on the final day after losing a 9-point lead with 5 games to go? Has to be the biggest bottle of the century! Well done PSV too, though, not easy getting this last-stretch streak too. What a title defence!

Congratulations to PSV for winning the League. Just few months ago we thought the league was going in Ajax was but within just few weeks they lost concentration and started drawing and losing. It wasn't even too long ago when Ajax won PSV away from home, that game even convinced most of us to believe it was going Ajax way. Ajax problem started when they lost 4 - 0 to Utrecht and the rest was history. Two draws and two losses which amounted to them losing 10 points in 4 games. Really sad.

This season was full of surprises, because how could it not be, since the beginning of the season until the middle of the season PSV Eindhoven dominated the league and they managed to create a fairly wide gap with Ajax Amsterdam, but it was very unfortunate at that time PSV Eindhoven had to lose their consistency because they had to divide their focus with the Champions League match, which made them continue to lose points in the Eredivisie standings and even had to be shifted by Ajax Amsterdam.

And when Ajax managed to shift PSV Eindhoven's position, they appeared quite convincing and continued to create a fairly wide gap with PSV Eindhoven, as if convincing that Ajax would win the trophy this season. But who would have thought, when there were only a few more matches left before the end of the season, instead of Ajax trying to strengthen their position at the top of the standings, they actually had to lose their concentration and lose many points, which in the end their position had to be taken over by PSV in the 33rd week with a difference of only one point. A very painful point and will always be remembered by Ajax Amsterdam players and fans.

Ajax today had 4 minutes of hope when Sparta made score 1:1 with PSV, but joy didn't lasted long as de Jong soon scored for PSV and they took a lead again. Well, Ajax can blame only themselves. If coach Farioli will stay, I will be very surprised, while I don't expect any changes in their board. I'm not sure that's their main problem. Look, maybe for 80% part of season Ajax were dominant and it looked only matter of time until they will claim title. Nobody didn't raised any questions about board then. Though, there was some red flags in their European campaign. IMO, responsibility for this disaster goes to players and manager.
