The final in men's badminton is between Denmark (Axelsen) and China (Chen Long). Axelsen is a former world champion and Chen Long is the reigning olympic champion and 2 times world champion. My vote goes to Axelsen as I don't like the play of Chen Long (too defensive in my eyes).

Anyone making a bet on this match? I don't have much idea about badminton, but I wanted to make a bet in favor of Chen Long. Sportsbooks have Viktor Axelsen at 1.65 to 1.87, while Chen Long is placed at 2.00 to 2.14. Given the overall good performance of the Chinese athletes so far in this edition of the Olympics, it makes sense to bet in favor of Chen Long. But the problem is that my preferred sportsbook (Betway) has Chen Long at 2.00. Marathon Bet has him at 2.14, but I don't have an account there.

Glad to see PH will once again take a chance for a possible 2 Gold Medal both by boxing (men and women division). These 2 are now assured of a bronze or silver medal regardless.

If they will successfully snatch it, first time again in PH Olympic history. Few medals compare to other countries but a big achievement as PH is not really expected to bag a medal even a bronze one.

Searching on what sports we are able to take a good shot, it's boxing. A total of 7 out of 13 medals in history came from boxing after the final tally.

I do hope that we will see a second and hopefully a third gold but given that their opponents are really good, I think that they will have a hard time fighting, I root more on Nesthy, if she continues her aggressive approach like what she did to Italy I think that she will be able to make it but she has to be careful because a counter could end everything for her.

As Indonesian, today I'm so proud with the performance of Greysia Poli and Apriani Rahayu who have just won the Gold Medal for Doubles Women Badminton. It is a big achievement as well as a big history for my country to get Gold Medal from the Doubles Women category for the first time. I believe it is something not expected before since the most expected ones is from Doubles Men but unfortunately the two pairs of Doubles Men did not play really well.

More than anything, I just hope that Nesthy takes the win here for our 2nd Gold Medal in the country. But even if she losses, her guaranteed medal is enough to acknowledge her skill and prowess. Imagine, most of our olympians received little to no support from the government and the latter relatively demands so much from them.

I do hope that after this year's olympics, our government will acknowledge the need to support financially these olympians since it requires so much effort, time, and resources to produce world-class athletes that compete with other athletes around the globe.

The most exciting event in Olympics 2021 is over. Men's 100m finals is now decided, with Marcell Jacobs of Italy surprisingly winning the gold medal. Another disappointment for the United States in athletics, as Fred Kerley came second at 9.84. Overall, Jacobs improved the margin by 0.01 seconds (back in 2016, Usain Bolt won the gold at 9.81 seconds and Justin Gatlin came second with 9.89). I don't know what happened to Yohan Blake. He couldn't even qualify for the finals (10.14 seconds in semi-finals).

I think the men's field was quite weak in general, certainly a good time for the winner, but there were no real big names in the race. I suppose everyone is in the shadow of Bolt.
For me the women's 100m was more exciting... and would have been even better if Richardson had been able to compete and Asher-Smith wasn't carrying an injury.

In the men's tournament also the Indian team reached the semis (defeated Great Britain in the QF). I am surprised that the hockey team is able to perform so well. Because the domestic tournaments are in very bad shape. From 2013 to 2017, a professional league called Hockey India League (HIL) was organized by the governing body in India. But due to some unknown reason, the league was scrapped in 2017. It was a great loss, because the matches were of very high quality and the best players from all around the world were taking part.

I think I speak for everyone else even not from the same country to see repeated success for you guys,,, we had also a nice history in boxing previously with an unexpected silver medal but I was still too young to remember, or even really been interested in sports at the time. there is an interesting moment when Poli changes his rackets very quickly, I think They will miss the point but Rahayu has to backup it very quickly either. that moment was different when the china team has a miss when Jia Yi Fan's rackets have broken. Both the hockey teams of India finally entering the semi finals is really happy moment for the entire country. Expecting more on the upcoming matches. Indian women's were really strong to play against Australia. Till date other than Cricket India hasn't made any big moments. Hoping to see some good moments in the upcoming days.

I wasn't surprised by the victory by the men's team. But the performance by the women's team was very surprising, as they don't even rank among the top 10. They managed to beat one of the strongest sides in women's hockey (Australia). A medal is not yet certain, but they need to win just one out of the two matches to come back with a medal. Things looking slightly better for India, with two medals already in it's kitty (silver in weightlifting by Saikhom Mirabai Chanu and bronze in badminton by PV Sindhu).

Yes congratulations on the first gold medal  this is a tradition in every olympics one of the Indonesian contingents will definitely get a gold medal
In the other finals, Ginting should have no trouble against Cordon because based on the ranking Cordon is ranked 59th and Ginting 5th

It is amazing how the Chinese are dominating the medals table. They are now far ahead of the United States. Chinese athletes have won gold in gymnastics and shooting, where they were not being given much chances. For some unknown reason, the performance from the US and Russia have been quite ordinary so far. Russia have now dropped out of the top-4, and they are behind Australia now. The Great Britain is another country which have disappointed the sports fans. They were at the second place in Rio 2016.

Lots of changes in this Olympics compared to the past, China was really dominating and I think they'll win on the most number of medals won this event. They are so focused on this, and they want to prove to the world that they can be number 1 and they have their chance now and they are doing it, I'm also amazed that Asian countries are dominating, this is a good sign that Asian countries have improved their sports level.

Developing nations such as Brazil, Kosovo, Ecuador and Cuba are already in the medals table. It was China which first showed that Olympics is not a monopoly of the developed nations. And look where they are right now. Only the former-USSR group of nations have gone down during the last few years, in terms of medal winning capability.

At the latest when it was announced in July 2001 that the 2008 Olympic Games would take place in Beijing, huge efforts were made in China to build up or improve an infrastructure for every Olympic sport (also for the small, not so popular ones). Logically, China is still benefiting from these efforts today and will continue to do so in the future. China is first in the medal table because they are very successful especially in the "smaller" sports such as shooting.

At least, Ginting got a bronze medal, he won without much fighting, congrats. We have one more game which can possible get the medal, weight lifting, Nurul Akmal. she growing up in 5th position on qualification Adi Tashkent, Uzbekistan 2020. if she can pass the target 263 possible bronze medal. but I won't much expect because his best score is 261.
