Even if these guys are 100% genuine it still does not change some vital facts one should consider when buying these unicorns : -almost 0 resale value ( even if they are the only ones like this and nobody comes out with a better sASIC, FPGA, ASIC ) -can't game on them -can't hack with them -6 month warranty only -still refuse to let us know what the tech behind the product is so we can know if these can be used to run an OS or other applications -can't mine LTC, SLC etc. Thank you and looking forward to some reviews and what is under that mysterious heatsink ! Why did you just repeat the same post you made two pages ago? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53530.msg686573#msg686573Anyway, who cares if they can't mine the stupid alt-coin chains? They are useless and a waste of resources anyway.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it. There was never anything there in the first place.

I'm looking forward to people actually getting these in hand and doing some real-world benchmarking!

I purchased one. Sonny from BFL has answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. If I get it great. If I don't, I will get my money back.

Skin in the game, takes the time to email the supplier and is satisfied with the answers. Thanks for posting in this thread and for not creating more FUD.

Exactly my thoughts on the matter.

Honestly, this isn't a troll post as this looks quite promising, they way they've given pictures and kept up with you all.
With that said, I don't upderstand the thought process of getting it or not getting it and getting my money back. If they turnout to be a fraud, which is looking unlikely, you wont get your money back.
Let me know if I misunderstood posts

I think the key thing to know is that some have already asked for and received refunds. I don't think a scam operation would do such a thing, even if it was to simply further their scam. (My opinion/thought process, anyhow)

If you made the purchase with PayPal, you have a certain amount of protection. You have 45 days to make a claim. I spoke with Sonny regarding that protection. Sonny told me in an email, that if I don't receive the unit before the 45 days are up I can get a refund. BFL can bill me again giving me another 45 days of protection for my original order. I think that's more than fair considering the circumstances.

At the assembly plant in Taiwan, thanks for asking! So roughly 4-6 weeks out? I'm thinking closer to 2-3. I need to figure out the best way to record video - either me demo-ing a little black box, or me eating a 6-card open frame rig.

I am curious about something ...
Who of those who seem happy about the way they are being treated by BFL, have: bought something under these conditions before of: Getting something less than advertised in ALL respects (with what SERIOUSLY can only be correctly called false advertising and a bait and switch) and also still not delivered yet ... and being happy about that?
What other company is there that you would be happy about these circumstances?
What is special about BFL that in this case makes you not care about the circumstances that most any normal person would have difficulty being happy with?
Mainly, of course, I am referring to anyone who actually put up money for this, many months ago, when they advertised their ridiculous claims and of course still haven't even yet received their sub-spec device.
Of course I actually do still expect to see people receive these things and report about them ... some time in the next 4-6 weeks ...
I do guess it is some form of "OMG this is the current holy grail" (I make that statement seriously not as a joke) but in reality how much better is it than anything else currently available? I've seen a few posts comparing them, but interestingly enough those posts are not consistent. The Anti-BFL's post specs that say they are not much better. The Pro-BFL's post comments saying the new reduced specs are way better.
Can we also get some agreement of how it compares to current specs for other FPGA's?

Thanks for your concern sweetie, but you just worry about your own affairs, OK? Do you think any of us would have paid up front for these if we didnt want to? We're not being held at gunpoint you know. Jesus christ As for the comparison, you have the specs of these units, now go find the specs of all the other FPGAs available and you'll have your answer.

Yep, but I'm sick to death of the immature bullshit in this forum. He didn't ask a well thought out question at all, it was just another blatant jab at these devices, basically calling people idiots for buying them. If he really cared he could find a comparison of similar devices in this very thread.

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system. - GA
